Amongst all the rubbish that pops up on our screens Malcom comes and brings a beautiful sense of peace with his relaxed nature and calm voice. Thank you God 🙏🙏🏴
He most certainly is, I'd guess River folk, considering how much he travels, and explores, and braves out inthe world. OR he's just on an adventure, like Bilbo.
I’m lucky enough to be visiting Belfast from Australia very soon, so how amazing is it to open up UA-cam and find that Malcolm has gone on ahead of me and posted this video (almost as a sort of encouragement)! Thank you Malcolm!
is there a greater man than this man known as Mr Guite? By what charm was Belfast blessed to be visited by this reverend and Tolkein disciple? Friend of us all, Malcolm. May you be eternally inspired to share your words with us on UA-cam dear friend
With respect, I hate to break this news to you, and there is no real easy way to say it, and I hope it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, but UA-cam is a temporal platform, not an eternal one 🤦♂️
@johnjsteinbeck, relax, a believer’s life can experience this moment eternally, what do you gain by merely dissolving the reality by claiming “respect” and completely miss the value, because you interjected your “righteous” pious technical examination that seeks to correct by taking a context to a miserable fault. Here’s a thought… enjoy your rebuke, now how do you like your self righteousness comment? When you answer make sure your in front of a mirror and in case you forgot Open your eyes and pull the plank out.
Dearest Sir: In these fractious times your calmness and kindness, your sense of joy and wonder, and your love for all humankind pour forth as a balm on my soul. Bless you. (And, if you must, point my praise away from yourself and toward heaven. Isn't that what the world's humble treasures do?)
Imagine just being able to be in the presence of such vintage, valuable books. The pristine shelves, the lovely tables, I just want to spend an entire evening having coffee and reading in this cozy library
It's a delight to sit and learn so much of the great poets, and poetry itself, from a humble master like yourself. And I love your poem for Isaac Watts!
That library reminds me of the rare book room at Davidson college, where my wrestling team mates and I partook in evening study hall. It sounds odd but you bring to mind all of my favorite teachers from my boarding school days, an episcopal school as it were. I sincerely hope to meet you one day and share a pipe as well as our faith.
Malcolm, thank you for coming to Belfast ! ! I was blessed to be able to hear you speak at the Communion service in the church that CS Lewis was connected to. I was so encouraged by the thought of how every day we are growing spiritually younger, moving West to East, every day a day closer to the day of salvation and the "Good Morning ! " when death is swallowed up !
Wonderful! I was overjoyed to travel with my choir not long ago to sing two Masses in the Anglican Ordinariate tradition - one of our communion hymns was When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (Rockingham tune), and it had such a beautiful descant on the final verse. Hearing your reflection on it was inspiring! God keep you, Malcolm!
While I don't believe in God, I love your content. It's extremely nice in this hectic world to rest, and open up your mind to a bit of beauty and spirituality. Thank you very much indeed, sir
That chair reminds me of a scene in one of my favorite films, where King Brian king of all the leprechauns tells Darby O'Gill, by all the goats in Derry do you think I'd sit on a Spanish throne!
Malcolm, I love watching and listening to you...if I was a casting Director with influence...I'd cast you not only in the Harry Potter franchise but also Lord of the Rings....you'd fit right in just as you are...God bless you.
Naturally I wondered if you included a visit to CSL sites during your time in Belfast and if there might even by some video thereof if so. Looking forward to a visit about Samuel Palmer sometime!
thank you so much for sharing with us! have you ever had the opportunity to watch any of John Butler's videos? it would be interesting to hear what your thoughts on his perspectives are
I know they say Gandalf and Bombadil had a 2 year chat before the Grey Havens, though I believe that a conversation between you and Tolkien would rival this
Malcolm, would you consider doing a piece on Tolkien's essay On Fairy Stories? It would be fascinating to hear your interpretation of Tolkien's theory on imagination and the suspension of disbelief.
For anyone not familiar with the famous hymn and tune that Malcolm is referring to, please listen to Kings College Choir singing variations on it ua-cam.com/video/mDkuxEIcpdI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=drwestbury
Malcolm, are there any provisional publication dates for your Arthurian books? Will they be released individually over a number of years, or as a series? Thank you!

This man is a treasure. He must be protected at all costs.
Hi Malcolm! Your enthusiasm inspires me indeed.
I will never be thoroughly convinced that Malcom Guite isn't secretly a hobbit
He most certainly is, I'd guess River folk, considering how much he travels, and explores, and braves out inthe world. OR he's just on an adventure, like Bilbo.
Secretly?
😂😂😂😍
Or a Wizard.
Perhaps we need to take a look and see if he has oversized hairy feet? 😉

Beautiful! Thank you, Fr. Malcolm. Your words touched my heart.
Welcome to Belfast Malcolm. I hope you enjoy your stay!
WE GOT TO HEAR THE CAMERAMAN !!!! (I think it's the first time)
I suspect from the location and accent, he wasn't the regular camera holder. 😀
I suspect from the accent a local stand-in. The mystery remains!

I have one of those Bell's Editions, Richard Savage, vol.2, with "The Wanderer" and "Progress of a Divine." Lovely series!
i did not know of "when i survey the wounderous cross" or isaac watts till today. it is a beautiful hymm. thankyou.
I have to agree: When I Survey never fails to bring me back to the very essence of my faith in Jesus. Love so amazing....
Another lovely video, thank you!
If they ever remake the movie "the pagemaster" this dude needs to be in it
Malcolm, I love watching and listening to you...if I was a casting Director with influence...I'd cast you not only in the Harry Potter franchise but also Lord of the Rings....you'd fit right in just as you are...God bless you.
Beautiful!
Oh I would be soooo at home there!
Malcolm seems to travel all over, he must fly via a giant eagle, i could'nt possibly see him on a aeroplane.
Love the Watts poem Malcolm.
Naturally I wondered if you included a visit to CSL sites during your time in Belfast and if there might even by some video thereof if so.
Looking forward to a visit about Samuel Palmer sometime!
The late Sir John Betjeman stated the same, that Isaac Watts’ When I survey the wondrous cross’ was the greatest hymn in the English language.
More YTPC Team Freedom awesomeness! 😊😊😊😊😊
Whilst I do enjoy your videos, it does make me laugh many who comment attempt to reflect your ability as a wordsmith!! 😂😂
