Example? Ok. In a recent study done by a team of scientists from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, found that out of 132 people that answered their survey, 97 reported injuries (a 73.5% injury rate)!

I was in football and wrestling my whole life, year round and that brings with it lots of weight training, and running like a cross country runnerdamn near. College wrestling is like the real cross fit training, and add the weight cutting like body building. We glorify these professional athletes, and like 1 in a 1000 will make it to the pros, and even those who do, end up injured and bankrupt specifically the NFL I mean.

However I also have my MBA and have encouraged all of my kids to get an education. Physical activity is incredibly important but not at the expense of injury. I’ve never seen activities like CrossFit as nothing more than a fad and I’ve discouraged it with everyone that I meet. I don’t see any benefits to it whatsoever.

Here's a word of advice for the crossfitters who think they're immune to injury with these crazy movements: I was in the Army for just 4 years, but the units I was at loved to do crossfit workouts. I was in amazing shape while I was in. 6 months after I got out, I started receiving 100% VA disability for the degradation of my body caused by these workouts. I'm 28. Last time I checked, crossfit gyms don't pay disability. Just something to think about.
Im smelling some bullshit. Are you really sure its from your PT? VA would sure as hell have a hard time giving you 100% disability for something happening AFTER you get out, since disability is literally compensation for injuries incurred during your service. Not to mention, they would never give a full disability rating for issues from PT, I have had to get part of my spine fused from being hit by an IED and they still didnt give me 100%.
That's the one thing that people need to know about CrossFit. It's a high skill, high injury risk training style. You can't go into it without that knowledge.
I am very curious what this generation of cross fitters is gona look like when they start getting old. Are they gona end up lile Ronnie Coleman or just like super athletic old ppl... Cz a lot of these exercises of jumping on benches with 100lbs dumbells and lifting a barbell with 300lbs with ur legs while u stand on ur head and jump over a car seems like it is going to make short work of them once they start hitting 40-50

There is nothing wrong with the correct way to do cross fit but for the past 2 decades no one is advertising actual crossfit. They only advertise people doing irregular movements with weight that aren't activating any extention, retraction, and/or strength resistance to their muscles but those same irregular movements instead damage muscles and joints.

However i agree that there's a very thin line between fitness and injury in crossfit. Which is up to your own understanding and your mentor (coach, teacher or etc...). Cause let’s be the absolute hardest on our body to look half as good as a bodybuilder. Like I understand it’s for strength but there’s a point where it becomes counter productive for your joints, ligaments, cartilage, etc.
This is the proper form for a sandbag lift and an atlas stone lift. Developing healthy spine erectors is very important to strongman movement patterns. In fact, moderate spinal flexion is worse than a little rounding of the back imo. Some of the best deadlifters have used slight rounding to their lever advantage, I.e., Ed Coan.

There is nothing wrong with the correct way to do cross fit but for the past 2 decades no one is advertising actual crossfit. They only advertise people doing irregular movements with weight that aren't activating any extention, retraction, and/or strength resistance to their muscles but those same irregular movements instead damage muscles and joints.

@@brucedavis3915 it's up to the coaches that they either destroy people or help them become fitter. There are lots of nonqualified coaches in any discipline. You just can't simply hate one because of the people advertising it wrong. Open your eyes and ears and you'll realize how crossfit makes you decent in most fitness disciplines. However i agree that there's a very thin line between fitness and injury in crossfit. Which is up to your own understanding and your mentor (coach, teacher or etc...). It's ,what you want to do with your body not what people do, that matters. Also most people mistake the crossfit games with crossfit. They're not the same. There are fundamentals to crossfit. If a crossfit coach teaches butterfly pullups before teaching you strict and fundamental pullups, then that's totally a bad coach. Stop hating. Start thinking

This is the proper form for a sandbag lift and an atlas stone lift. Developing healthy spine erectors is very important to strongman movement patterns. In fact, moderate spinal flexion is worse than a little rounding of the back imo. Some of the best deadlifters have used slight rounding to their lever advantage, I.e., Ed Coan.
I disagree. That much flexion to extension movement at the juncture of thoracic and lumbar spine is asking for trouble.
