Justice League cyborg father dies
Justice League filmmaker Zack Snyder shares an image from a deleted scene in the film featuring the intended death of Cyborg's dad, Silas Stone.
Zack Snyder shares an image from a deleted Justice League scene depicting the death of Silas Stone, Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) father. Played by Joe Morton, the character had a brief appearance in 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as he worked on Victor using the Mother Box.
Unfortunately, he runs out of time quickly as Steppenwolf arrives on the scene moments later. The villain can sense the box nearby, so he leaps inside the facility looking for it. What he discovers, though, is Сyborg father stepping inside of a protective box, preparing to shoot the Mother Box with a powerful laser. Before Steppenwolf can intervene, the laser hits the object, killing Сyborg father just as Victor makes his way into the facility. But while Steppenwolf assumed Сyborg father was trying to destroy the Mother Box, it turns out the laser had no effect on it, which allows the villain to escape with the final piece he needs.
Victor breaks down after witnessing his father's death, but he quickly realizes it wasn't in vain. Сyborg father's laser actually left a traceable heat signature on the box that allows the League to track it to the Russian village, giving them an element of surprise they wouldn't have had previously. Сyborg father's death unites the team in a way the theatrical cut never did, giving them, especially Victor, a sense of purpose as they head off to save the world. - Фільми й анімація
The looks of his face when he look at cyborg. Its like telling victor:
" I know I am not a good father, son. But this is the least that I can do, hope it will change your mind. Good Bye. "
Man, I will always love glorious sacrifice in movies 😭
When Cyborg’s theme starts playing and Silas flips that switch I start crying every time... it’s so damn sad😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 smh

Like in Terminator 2, he researched something dangerous lead to the destruction of the world, and he died to destroy it.
Why does a lot of people don’t understand cyborg’s dad death ? It’s not a ridiculous suicide at all because he gave his life to show the place where steppenwolf has the mother boxes, what they wouldn’t find because they didn’t even have a clue.
Anyway, a really great film well done zack Snyder.
Y didn’t he just turn on the machine when he was in the outside 😂

@@slimeballdemon5273 At the beginning you can clearly see that he was going to do that, but steppenwolf was already approaching him. Also, he wasn't sure if any of the JL would come to his aid. If he was outside he would have been killed by steppenwolf.

He believed in his son, maybe more than Cyborg dared believed in himself.
I think it's painfully poetic, he stole his son back from death, and later traded places with him.
Cyborg learned the most painful lesson, you can't save everyone by being a super hero, you just get the chance to try.
He reaches out with the same arm he tried to protect his mother with
*edit* just realised his father took a lazer to the freaking eye and didn't flinch so the last thing he sees is his son, and so his son doesn't see him suffer
The small details, Cyborg's confused face because his father has to remain calm and not tip his hand to prevent the villain from discovering his plan.
Brilliant by everyone
Very very well put. It was a perfectly written scene.
Friend gave me shit saying Superman's father could've sent Clark to get their dog from the car but she failed to realize that his father wanted that the world should find out about his son when the moment was right even if that meant sacrificing himself.
And get this, she is a marvel fan and is constantly trying to shit on DCEU movies. Fuck all such idiots.
Wanted to vent here.
Late as hell but this made me tear up bro😭
@@ishaangupta4125 *accidently wrote a book, oops*
his father wanted his son to have a CHOICE of whether not to be a hero, we saw in BvS what happens when that choice isn't there
Batman feels his whole purpose is a crusade "the world only makes sense if you force it too"
And the media debating Superman if he is or should he a god like figure.
I know this is only pt3 of a 6 story arch, but damn only halfway through we got some serious family stories
Marvel is good, but risk free and very contained, which is Disney's fault more than anything, Snyder's stories dared to show not only flawed heros, but heros that could be deeply, even morally flawed, because they are in the end human, he showed us a man who was mostly machine but not withour heart, earth's greatest son fall into the dark abyss only to be saved by an alien who chose to die for a world he wasn't sure he belonged too, and a goddess who feared being known, a kid who with all the time in the world but only has minutes with his father, and a king who cares little for his birthright.
Marvel bends the world to fit it's heros, DC put the heros in our world and dares them be the best they can be.

I think seeing your dad die in anyway is sad enough

Just so everyone is clear, this wasn't a pointless suicide. He intended to heat up the mother box so that it's heat signature could be tracked, hence why he wrote down the equation on the wall. He didn't intend to die, but heat up the box from the safety of outside that glass box. But when Steppenwolf showed up before he could exit the glass box he made the choice to activate the laser with him inside.
Silas was a survivor throughout this honestly until this point. I dont think many people in the universe can say they met steppenwolf twice.

I don't think he's dead. I think he's done a Red Skull and somehow because of box's power he's transformed into something else.
Tbh sadly I don't think thats the case because the motherbox didn't kill him it was the heat of the beam which marked the motherbox and if u play the scene at 0.25 speed u can see his skeleton falling out of his body.
@@hussi1124 good catch. My bad.

So begins the end.
I swear Jonathan and Sila's deaths were really something beyond for words to describe..
"huh huh huh...huh...huh...........huh" - Dr Miles Dyson (𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 2)
Silas Stone (Joe Morton) dies while holding a detonator in his hand, sacrificing himself to mark the Mother Box. His death scene is similar to the death of Miles Dyson in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), where Dyson blows up the Cyberdyne building while sacrificing himself to save Sarah and John Connor, holding a detonator in his hand. Joe Morton famously played Miles Dyson in that film.
The Amazons and Atlanteans tried to protect the motherbox from Steppenwolf reach while Silas stone representing the humans tried to destroy it. Though didn't work. I love this
No, Silas represented the only one that had a plan and contributed to saving the world. The Atlantians and Amazons fts. are nothing by comparison
Also I think his plan was to super charhe the box with the laser so it's heat signature could be tracked when Steppenwolf came for it. Problem was he showed up before Silas exited the glass box and had to activate the laser woth him inside it knowing that they could still track it.
Cyborg alone couldn't stop steppenwolf.

Not sure if that would've worked. That ax is pretty tough, he most likely would've smashes the glass walls and left with the mother box with minimal scarring.
@@StuckonStupid84 nah if you watch it again, he broke the glass to get in. If the door was open he would've walked in.
Lol then we will not get an epic final battle haha lol
No, in the final fight he survives Superman's heat vision which is more hotter than this laser. Steppenwolf would leave with the mother box. League wouldn't find Steppenwolf's base because the mother box wasnt super heated so it could be tracked with satellite
Ok his dad could've easily activated the laser from outside... All he would do is take like 3 steps, and it's such a slow-closing glass door.
What 3 steps? Pay attention to the scene. Victor's dad tried to go outside after placing the motherbox to activate the laser but Steppenwolf was already close by. He had no choice but to stay inside otherwise he would get killed before he could activate the laser. The danger was also Steppenwolf would break the glass while the laser activate causing more damages not only to the labs but outside too. The consequence would be too great so Vi
"Its such a slow closing glass door" guess you figured out why he couldn't open it back up either cuz it'll take away precious time. Plus, that's pretty fucking THICK glass.
What was the point of his death I don't get it
He overheated the motherbox so the justice league can localize it with a thermal vision using Bruce's satellite. I don't think that's hard to understand for a 12+ years old guy
@@amurtiger7410 well done for answering but was is necessary to be mean like that?
@@User-inthemorning not really.
RIP Silas, but i still don't understand why he needed to fry himself in that room since the laser can be operated via remote. Oh well plot device.
Because then steppenwolf could just grab him and stop him from superheating the laser plus I’m sure he knew it would give victor the strength he needed to let himself die
Stepphenwolf threatened to kill him earlier about lying about hiding the Motherbox. Dude's pissed lol. He ain't letting him off the hook. Imagine beaming yourself all across earth. And then get get pushed around by Dasaad and Darkseid only to find out that the last Motherbox was with that same human the whole time lol
He was stepping out. But steppenwolf was already in the room he would have thrown his axe across the room killing stilas and he wouldn't have been able to Super Heat the Mother Box.

@@I-speak-U-shut-it I loved this film but im wondering

He has some connectivity with data stream and networking
and he can rearrange to reform or conform devices.
Is the laser done by manually?
or is there networking to add the code to the laser?
Look I love this movie and the Stone family is like my favorite part of it.
That being said...
I just feel like if I’m about to kill myself to do something to an object before someone takes it and my super powered son dives through the ceiling to defend me, I think I might wait to see how the fight unfolds and at least give him a chance to beat him before killing myself as a last resort.
It wasn’t to destroy the box it was to make sure the box would be findable should steppenwolf escape with it . Silas saw that if steppenwolf got away with this they would be doomed so he sacrificed himself to make sure his son would have a chance to prevent it in any case .
@@stormbringer2840 I never said it was to destroy the box…
Silas killed himself so they could track the box when Steppenwolf took it. My point is, when his super powered son who shoots lasers out of his arms (i.e. the person who he wants to have the box in the first place) dives through the window before the sequence was even initiated, why would you not see how the fight unfolds first to see if it’s even necessary to make the box traceable in the first place/kill yourself. For all he knows, Cyborg could’ve fended off Steppenwolf or held him off long enough for the rest of the league to arrive.
It’s just a really forced death scene that could’ve been easily fixed had Snyder just made a slight re-write. Maybe, the sequence was already initiated by the time Victor entered and it was just a really tragic death that could’ve been avoided if Silas had waited a little longer or Victor had gotten there sooner.
But instead it just feels like Silas kills himself because he doesn’t believe in his son or because he wants to die lol.
@@AiRbOrNeAnDrOiD I see but I disagree. Silas saw that it took the whole justice league to fight steppenwolf I can understand how he didn’t want to risk it . He do trust in his son but not to defeat steppenwolf alone , to understand why sacrificed himself.
