- Den kæmpe Antonov AN-225 var i på besøg i Billund fra Fredag til lørdag ( 4. Feb - 5. Feb 2022) Jeg er ikke klar over hvad den havde med ombord, desværre. Her ses flyet, da den kører imod startbanen, hvor den har take off.
The giant Antonov AN-225 was on a visit to Billund from Friday to Saturday (4. Feb - 5. Feb 2022) I am not aware of what it had on board, unfortunately. Here the plane is seen as it runs towards the runway, where it has take off. - Авто та транспорт
RIP AN-225, it was great to see it at Billund Airport. Never thought that it would be the last flight ever, keep fighting Ukraine, we all wish you the best
Everything will be fine, they have the fuselage of an unfinished AN 225. Wings and engines survived , will assemble one plane from the other two
How can the aircraft have been in for maintenance and having been bombed at an airport at the same time?
@@milcotto4153 because it is it's homebase and the only place it can be maintained. The engines had to be looked at and therefore it flew back to Kiev for an inspection

I can't believe I was one of the lucky ones to get access to the plane during unloading. The sheer size of it when standing next to it is almost unfathomable.
When it took off I was at the other end of the runway from this video. I remember the traffic was almost standing still, and every time a lorry or a bus would come close you would get that sinking feeling in your stomach. Luckily the view wasn't obstructed, but I could have done without the hail shower.
Learning that it had been destroyed made me very sad.
You have probably caught one of the greatest take-offs of any great airplaine, ever...

Can we just talk about the fact that it took the biggest plane in the world around 5 seconds to get airborne?
At around 5:45 the flaps begin to extend. - I mention it as it is almost imperceptible but still an amazing part of the takeoff routine

What a beast ! I bet the passengers on the Lufthansa flight which departed before the AN225 were disappointed. That would have been something special seeing that thundering down the runway from so near.
I would love to see one of these used to carry people. I'd go in it myself...

Well, after watching such a departure they would have plenty of time considering the event. For safety reasons there wouldn't have been a take of for that kinda small hopper for quite a while.
As a danish person im very proud that it flew from Denmark on its last flight
Det är en imponerande maskin. Snyggt filmat i övrigt och från en vinkel man sällan ser. Just att se hur de fäller ut vingklaffarna (flaps) förhöjer intrycket.
Enig, for min del ble det litt Aha opplevelse å se mengden flex bygd inn i vingene, med tanke på ev last på taket

They extended the flaps and slats to take off position very late. Just prior to take off. Yes the plane is impressively huge but not very modern. Just look at the smoke it left behind.

As a regular visitor to Denmark, mostly via BLL Aiport, as well as an aircraft nerd, to see that amazing aircraft broken in its hangar is truly heartbreaking. Yes, the human tragedy completely outweighs the destruction of this plane - after all this can be rebuilt (albeit with a lot of money), it is only a thing. However it represented what people CAN do when we work together and come up with GOOD ideas. To see the destruction of this amazing plane in the light of that, knowing as well that it was the pride of Ukraine is what really makes me angry with this senseless destruction. I really, really hope that when the dust eventually settles (and I really believe it will) then the AN225 is resurrected to ply the world trade routes again, to show the world and those horrible people in the Kremlin that there IS a better way.

What a plane, awesome video.
It took off against Billund (BLL) from Bishkek(FRU) in Kyrgyzstan at 18.30 local time, and with on board it had 2.5 million corona self-tests, (the rest of an order of a total of 35 million pcs.) And when it took off, it flew empty back home to Hostomel Airport (GML) in Kiev / Ukraine and no one knew at this moment that this was going to be Antonov AN-225 "MRIYA's" last flight!

@@milcotto4153 yes they actually did, sorry if this sounds strange to you. But here in Denmark we get a lot of good and also funny information. It was a private company that bought all the mask and equipment. That was the reason why so many people came to see the aircraft. Over 10.000 people came to see it.

It was a very windy day, but when they started up, i could really feel the power from this monster :-D
Notice at 5:59 the engines blow the water off the roof. That building is at least 250 meters behind the engines, maybe close to 300 meters.
@@Togkanalen You could feel the engine wash from way over there? That's gotta be close to a kilometer away from the plane! Amazing indeed. I was there that day, but on the other side. It was too bad it left empty because that made it take off with plenty of runway to spare and it climbed quickly and was partially obscured the clouds (as seen in the video) before it even passed over Båstlundvej. We did get to see it pass overhead but it vanished fully into the clouds shortly afterwards. And to think we had clear skies shortly before takeoff and again a little later. What a cruel joke.
My first thought was "Is the 225 actually twerking for the camera?" Then I realized the engines must've been doing that.
Very eerie how she disappears into the clouds... RIP Myira and all those who have perished as a result of the attacks on Ukraine! #slavaukraini

It did. It was heading for its home in Hostomel Airport, where it only stayed for a couple of weeks before... well, we all know.
Does B52 with its 8 engines have more thrust than this planes? Or are there any other planes that have more thrust then Antonov 225?
Depends at least of version of the B52. The H is compared with the earlier ones something else. I believe B-52H pilots transitioning from the older ones were warned the enginges had FAR more thrust than the D for example. Compared with the D, 40 % more from one engine.
Though one of each of the D-18T turbofans on the 224 has about the same thrust as 3 of the B-52H's TF33 turbofans, so three of those has far more thrust than a B52-H

Amazingly short take off roll. I have watched many AN-225 videos and none were this short. It must have had no cargo.
Your absolutely right. The plane had a lot of healthcare mask with it, when it landed in Denmark. And was empty when it departured 🤗

That rear end with that giant horizontal stab looks amazing. Also - this shit is STOL capable. The amount of runway it took to get off the ground seems unreal.
However my favorite planes are the SR71 and the B2
It definitely took off way earlier than you would expect. But the cargo hold was empty for this flight so of course that helped immensely. But it was a little disappointing for those of us who were waiting at the takeoff end of the runway that it vanished into the clouds so quickly (we had clear skies earlier that day and again later on. Shit luck really).

While taxiing they apparently needed the Follow Me-car for some reason. But why on earth did they send 4 "We're Following You"-cars after the Mriya? In order to collect parts falling off the plane?

The Follow Me cars were needed because she was "The" Mriya. Her Majesty the Ukrainian dream. She was enormous. She needed a convoy to escort her, that's it.

Troede ikke Billund havde en landingsbane til så stort et fly? Københans lufthavn skulle jo udvide for at kunne tage imod A380’eren. Og hvis nogen finder på at flyve med Concorde eller lign. igen, så håber jeg de kommer til Danmark, og gerne en “grøn” Concorde engang i fremtiden, som måske endda kan flyve endnu hurtigere :)

Tror ikke Københavns lufthavn kunne håndtere en A380 ved passager-gatene, det kunne de heller ikke i Hamburgs lufthavn i starten. Men der har også været mange rygter om at 225’eren ikke kunne lande i Billund, men det gik jo heldigvis fint 👍

how many decades is that thing old and how much fuel it wastes. there should be a new airplane even bigger than this, with more energy efficient motors, faster too. i would have thought technology improves and things get better, but apparently development is to stuck as seen when its same old.
