They really ruined her life by forcibly marrying her off like that. The hypocrisy of the brother to have a girlfriend and then judge his own sister. His own gf was dishonoring her family if he actually believed what he preached. That's more of a cultural issue than a religious one (the way this movie tried to portray it to be). Both bride and groom need to have full consent to get married. People always twist religious words for their own gains and believes.
Arranged marriages are common and generally are lasting indeed sometimes due to pressure and often bound by tradition and obligation. Thats not a bad thing, in fact most arranged marriages are truly successful with both agreeing to the arrangement, generally not FORCED. People always have a choice...but when someone tries to force their will over another person, they will ALWAYS, 100% of the time, meet resistance and disappointment. Pushing your human will off on others is blasphemous...its like saying you're better than God rather than honoring Him. Every human has his/her OWN will...nobody has a right to possess another's will for even a second.

This movie may be exaggerated but the list of girls who have suffered in the same or similar ways from similar belief systems is long. No matter who does it it is wrong.

You don’t get tried as an adult in Germany until 21.Worse even sometimes people set up the youngest to lie or do crimes for them, because you can’t be held accountable if you’re under 14 in Germany. This made me cry. She should have left her family behind. She was in Germany, she had all the support to raise her kid by herself. That happend in Germany. Not the only girl killed by her brother. In Offenbach happened the same thing to another türkisch girl. Her brother shot her in the head as well, because she ran away from her arranged marriage.

The fact that she was sent to marry at 16 years old is concerning. To make matters worse, she was married off to a stranger in another country, and her mother is turning a blind eye to this, which brings disgrace to the family. Just because they left their home country for Europe doesn't mean they should abandon their cultural and religious values. Dressing like a European doesn't erase your culture or religion. I believe that clothing should not dictate how you are treated. I respect all religions, but forcing someone to do something against their will is wrong. Everyone has fundamental human rights that should be respected.

The only thing the sister did wrong was smoking, but that doesn't justify killing her. The boyfriend's actions show he has no regard for honor or respect; he is simply evil.
Killing your sister is a sin, a crime, and a cruel act. I blame the mother for not intervening when her daughter complained about her marriage. Instead, she kept her trapped and made her feel worthless. This family's actions have tarnished the reputation of their religion. It's appalling that they celebrated the sister's death.

I love my religion and this is not what Islam teaches. I’m proud Muslim woman in south EA. Do not read online about Islam, go to a mosque or Islamic centre ask everything there and you will have your answer about Islam. Wearing HIJAB and modest clothing are the best way for Muslim women to protect her honour.
