Do never set network Access to "Allow for Everyone", if you do not know what that means. You only have to type in your Username & Password from the sharing computer at the accessing computer. Bad advice!

Yes, this is good advice except for leaving yourself wide open 😂 simple security goes a long way.

It's my personal computer, I think I'm fine😁, although I understand your point which is essential especially if you're connecting to public devices. So unless you turn on password sharing for security or immediately disconnect after you're done sharing files

@@BYTESUNLOCKED you set all these open settings for public networks. So if you take your computer to any other network (i.e. you do this on a laptop you take other places), others will be able to access your files with literally no barriers. Same if anyone joins your network and your computer is on. Just use the password feature, set these settings for private networks only, and be sure to set your home network as a private network in your settings. Much safer 👍🏻

Wow, what a revelation. I did that under Windows 3.11 already. So, just about 30 years ago.

You have to do the static IP configuration, because you have no DHCP😢.

Nope, you don't have to. I'm sure if you had done it you'll have realized you wouldn't need to...unless you've already messed with some network settings in the past, just follow it the way i show and ypull be good...I didn't need to, so you also wouldn't
