This video was it, been looking for 3 days how to do better standing dunks, I get lame layups 75% of the time. I'm gonna work on these tips, appreciate it!
yes u just hold Rt and flick the right stick up then immediately hold it down post up with Lt and Rt let go of Lt and that’s it keep holding Rt it’s so simple just go practice
I’m having a really hard time dunking(7’1, 7’11 wing span, 90 standing dunk, 75 vertical). I’m just playing the career mode right now to practice but I can’t seem to get the dunk meter ever. Any tips?
I decided to floor set my precision dunker. Best decision I’ve made all year, it went from me not being able to get one at all to getting about 7-12 a game
hey @lakerfan is bronze unpluckable good enough for you? I have a 6'8 90 standing dunk with gold and can back down for a dunk every time, but my 6'11 with 92 standing and 0 post control no unpluck gets ripped a lot trying to get into position for a meter dunk. Im wanting to make a 6'10 with bronze unpluck but still worried about getting doubled for jump ball/ ripped in the post
@@iArthuritis you can go as small as 6’6 and still trigger them but until you get badges you do get bumped out of contacts against taller defenders since you don’t actually get the real animations. As long as you use meter though you can still yam on peoples heads and they can’t stop it, I’ve gone on 20+ streaks at the stage without taking a single jumper. Highly recommend going for silver+ unpluckable though otherwise it’s super easy to get ripped in the paint
Do you have a video on this build? I have a pretty solid center build but I'm looking to be a little more mobile. I have a glass cleaning spot up threat.
My biggest issue is to get dunk meter to pop up. I don't know, I assume I try to rush it and probably are not hitting straight up, I can do it in offline modes, but struggle in REC. What's the thing with jumpball?
Jumpball? To stay on your point tho, I think you could be trying to do them too soon, and not squared up with the basket enough, also how many dunks do you run?
I just learned how to use the dunk meter and the information at 11:50 is the reason I subscribe thanks for the vid I never thought about using x as just a pump fake because I haven’t played 2k since 2k20 and I had no clue how the dunk meter worked but now with this info you dropped I feel confident using my big with standing dunk ✅👍🏾
Yes it's fine you get Jamal Murray behind the back. But good small guards will cook you tbh off speed. Unless you're a really good positional defender. I say 6'8 guards are worth it for how many more attributes u can get vs a 6'6
Also alleys are busted, if I run rec and a slasher gets doubled on the drive I tell them to just lob it, it works every time. Only issue is if the center has decent steal or if they help from the corner(which just then pass to the corner.) Dunk.
i have 85 standing on my big. 90 was a little too expensive for my liking and you get the contact bigman alley oops at 85. But nobody throws lobs in this game, so idk. Kinda wish I just made a hash atp😂
Depends on your budget play style and what you plan to do, Are you mostly in the paint on offense or do you plan to make cuts and drive often. I feel it’s safe to have a balance of both if you can’t decide.
Would a 94 driving dunk with 90 standing for the ones court be more beneficial then a 87 driving and 90 standing? The low driving dunk gives me gold anchor and hof chase down but I lose hof slithery
90 driving seems to be what gives you the big window on open meters but 94 gives better animations. It’s all preference but if you plan on driving dunking a lot I wouldn’t go below 90
Does the posterizer badge matter ? If I only want to do standing dunks. Basically what if I have a 80 driving dunk but a 98 standing dunk Without using the dunk meter. Or do I need a gold posterizer badge to be more efficient with my standing dunks ?
Posterizer stacks with rise up. It stops that dumb animation that happens sometimes when the ball randomly pops out of the rim on a dunk attempt. Fearless finisher also stacks with both post and rise up
Love the video laker, could you break down standing dunk for off the dribble. I’ve seen you do it multiple time in pro am. I iso a lot on my new big with 70 driving and 90 standing. Do you always look to just pump fake and square under the rim or does it work similar to driving meter where you get the defender on your hip stop your momentum and as long as you have line of sight you get a consistent big bar? When you are off the dribble what position do you get to that guarantees it?
Bro i know this is a standing dunk video but i gotta ask because you are the man that would know. How come sometimes when i preload my precision my guy will do like a 4 step shutter/shuffle but then i have times he wont? Just curious as to why because it slows down my drive when he does it but i also get a massive meter when he does
@@christianvaldez4903 by that logic though wouldnt a 6’8 glass cleaner get better animations over the 7 foot? (Ik i didnt list 6’8 in the post but its just a genuine question)
Yes, I have 86 drive 85 stand on my 6’8 and it’s a little smaller than a build like lakers and you can’t use it when there’s a body between you and the rim it’s still good directly under the rim
@@LakerFan yea no contacts is tough but considering how cheap it can be while still getting a ton of opportunities in traffic its a good little trick in the bag for a build that can move more guard like
The real question is HOW TO STOP IT. I’ve got centers that literally can’t do anything. Can’t rebound, play defense, pass, or score anywhere but this dunk cheese. How do you stop it?
One tip on this, if you have low driving dunk and go up after stopping off a cut and pass your meter will be very small. It reads as a driving dunk for some reason
There is literally no way to consistently make a standing dunk or a driving dunk with that meter. The meters doesn’t show at all but maybe 2 time out of 100 times doing it!!!!

Whats the best standing dunk overall ?
Do you hold rt while you do the standing dunk meter, I’ve heard yes and no
yes u just hold Rt and flick the right stick up then immediately hold it down post up with Lt and Rt let go of Lt and that’s it keep holding Rt it’s so simple just go practice

Turn meter on.
Get better
No way you start the video off with that… 🤦🏻♂️
RIP
😂😂
I appreciate these videos on the point center I made a build similar to it but more tuned to what I want and these help me a lot
Do you need Gatorade for them to work better
I decided to floor set my precision dunker. Best decision I’ve made all year, it went from me not being able to get one at all to getting about 7-12 a game
Uh precision dunker is a very easy badge to activate and max out. Whenever you have a dunk just use the meter. Even on open fast breaks.
You wasted a floor setter on that lol
@@Thor-cx4pk I needed it and I had nothing better to use it on
Worst floor setter you coulda used. If you do meter dunks which you should be damn near every dunk you get it’s stupid easy to keep maxed
I don’t have any badge perks on Precision Dunker because it stays maxed out 24/7. I floor set Float Specialist on Silver instead.

Yo! Wanted to make a 6’8 standing dunker as well. No standing contact dunks is fine for you?

I have same issue on my 7'1 with 82 driving, 92 standing with 84 strength :(
@@LakerFan During the jumpball at the start of the video You said that we are not jumping for the ball, that this is your teams thing.
All standing dunk packages and from player packages just Howard and Giannis. Could be as you said in one of your vids, that more packages is better

Is 85 standing a good threshold to aim for if said center isnt a paint masher? I can shoot consistently so im nog always in the paint

Do you recommend doing standing dunk meter dunks with standing under 90? Mines is 84
Laker I’m actually watching this in 25 lol . Made a center coming from hash . Great video bro ! Definitely helped me understand the mechanics
Should I go high driving dunk or high standing dunk on a lock?
Depends on your budget play style and what you plan to do, Are you mostly in the paint on offense or do you plan to make cuts and drive often. I feel it’s safe to have a balance of both if you can’t decide.
can we get a rebounding video ? I can’t worm for anything
Drop that build dawg, let us test out that point center
I dont know why. But I cannot get my dunk meter to pop up ever.
Same lol
Nice video bro. What’s the height and wingspan of your player here?
Make a vídeo for how to play in pf in comp proam

finally a good vid for the big men! i love it.
Literally the best explanation to the dunk meter every other video is hot trash you nailed it bro

Laker does pass faking under the rim still push defenders off you? Or did they change that?
I’ve never fiddled with it, I’d rather just dribble around or out, or spam 2 or 3 pump fakes to slide slightly closer
Not going to lie this didn’t tell me how to use the actual meter, like the buttons I been trying all 2k

probably just the animations that you have on
@@alexbranham1847 ah that definitely probably it I didn't even think the animations would effect it but that's very logical. Preciate it brother
Can you test this out in 2k25
What a minimal standing dunk rating that’s still effective with this method?
I’ve got a 45 standing dunk on my 6’6 guard…can I utilize these same techniques?
…and still be effective?
maybe maybe not, you won't have any big man contacts so you may get pushed out of alot of animations you try going for
For a 99 oboard and max vert which will get me more boards? A 7’0 or 7’1
7 Foot has more vert and speed that will contribute to you getting better rebound animations

I’ve got centers that literally can’t do anything.

How do you stop it?
The issue is people listening to these UA-camrs and making bugs with 61 interior, 78 block. The higher the block, the easier it is to stop.
What meter is the best meter to use?
is there a standing dunk meter on current gen?
Patience is a virtue. Good Video Bro.
I got a 90 standing dunk on a 6'7 pls help
Guys, the driving dunk meter is still related to the standing dunk stats ou they resolved that? Thanks
No, but mind you any dunks while you’re moving your stick will still be considered driving, even if below the baskey
my luck on those pump fakes I get bump animations 🤷🏽♂️ and it gets counted as a block
I understand bro lol I made the build u have the 6’10 plus I made the exact same with shooting
