Thank you for this well organized and presented review. You covered the most important features and demonstrated its use appropriately. I wish more of these so-called video "reviews" were as concise and pertinent. Thumbs up!

It’s very hard to see where your cutting . It has a white guide line on the blade release but you have to keep looking under and back to see the blade about 1/2” to 1” back. I wish I knew this prior to purchasing,😡

Just bought it because it's a Ridgid and because it's an odd design, so there must be some hidden advantages (?). The power switch is weird, goes to full speed right now, my two old saws are variable speed but they also want to jump off the wood and are louder. Like the planetary gear design though the handle is more like a saddle but I think overall it seems more controllable. The allen wrench you can actually use a square set the blade at 90º; jigsaw blades are never "90º". I have two arm numbing older jig saws so this planetary gear idea is terrific. It is a weird tool, but since I bought it I think I'll get my money out of it. Like my Ridgid circular saw, so I got this saw too.

I hate mine! After a while the angle adjustment gets sloppy and loose, not variable speed, and you can't see where you're cutting very well due to that goofy ass guard on the front! Only positive thing I can say is I liked the quick blade change, other than that don't waste your money... Research research research the tool before buying, something I failed to do. Terrible reviews on this thing!

this is the worst tool ever, i bought one and when I complained about the base this is what i was told
    Apr-13-2015
the base of my jig saw won't stay locked, is there a way to fix it? The serial number is below. I tightened the nut but it wont tighten anymore
    Serial #:
If a lot of pressure is applied to the base, it will still move. Tighten the bolt and do not apply a lot of pressure to the base, it will stay in place under normal conditions.
    Best regards,

I do not own this tool but in my research have to agree. Many complained on the issue(s) you have stated and more. I'm a RIDGID fan but this one I must pass. Maybe good for that once a year project but for most of us - unacceptable.
