I have had the chance to experience a church being dedicated and all the holy traditions being done and it's beautiful. I think it lasted 3 hours but just loved it and soaked it all in.

@Filumdark : Si lo está. Porque el rito de consagración de una Basílica es algo más complejo que solo las murallas. Sin embargo, el rito no fue ejecutado en la forma correcta. Quizá haya habido un lapsus y no mala intención (de seguro), por lo que la Iglesia suple la falta.

Al quitarsela para ungir el altar (o el jueves santo para lavar los pies) la vemos, pero el papa suele llevarla siempre debajo de la casulla. Otros obispos se ve que son más calurosos...

@Jmoraga87: Más allá de la valoración del signo está el ejecutar el signo conforme a lo que se ha hecho por siglos y siglos en la iglesia, que es consagrar con el Sacro Oleo el pilar (y no la cruz de consagración).

El gran problema es que, hoy por hoy, la Basílica de la Sagrada Familia parece más un comercio, y las celebraciones litúrgicas son cada día menos (y en la cripta).
ESO es lamentable, aún más para un Ícono de la Nueva Evangelización (Que de Evangelización, hasta el momento, no tiene nada).

De donde saco esto: del Ceremoniale Episcoporum, válido para toda la Iglesia del Rito Romano.
En efecto, suelen ser pintadas, en bajorelieve, en sobrerelieve, incrustadas, etc. Por ello, en especial cuando están adheridas sobre el pilar, el Ceremonial dice que se debe agregar el Crisma a la pared y no a la cruz. Es parecido a la razón por la cual un altar móvil de madera no puede ser consagrado.
Además, este rito carece de carácter sacramental en si mismo. La tradición la valida la Iglesia. Slds
eso de que el rito no fue ejecutado en la forma correcta no se de donde os lo sacáis:lo habitual suele ser que esas cruces sean fijas:si, normalmente pintadas,xo tb superpuestas.Pero la tradición no es más que eso,como alguien decia,es la sacramentalidad del rito la que tiene su eficacia,y no el rito en si mismo:porque,de hecho,si tuviera que ser sobre el pilar, entonces que estaria,medio consagrada?(unos lo hicieron,otros no).Son los sucesores de los apóstoles quienes validan la tradición.
