Dhrishyam 2 was successful because there was actually an original second part to copy from, where as Bhool bhulaiya only had 1 part to copy from malayalam.
Drishyam 2 (the hindi one) also was only successful because the malayalam version was an ott premiere and due to this it didn't get the exposure it deserved outside the state, especially the north. Most of the north audience are not aware of the original malayalam version and still consider the hindi version as the original.
@@sidharthp9057 no nowadays everybody knew that which movie is remake or not . Hindi makers already bought the hindi remake rights of drishyam 2 (malyalam )
LMAO my initial thought exactly.. I mean even the director for the Hindi remake was our beloved Jeethu Joseph ettan.. how many Indian directors can write a compelling screenplay for a sequel that's not poorly written and doesn't force the story to a anticlimactic ending? That's what happens when money isn't your motif for making sequels.
Exactly. People complain about our action films being unrealistic. But that is nor the problem. Kill Bill, for eg, is unrealistic. Every fight scene in the film is unrealistic and intentionally cartoonish. But the execution is top notch. The action choreography is excellent. The editing and music are flawless. These are the things which make an action movie a visceral experience. But most of our action filmmakers are either lazy or downright incompetent.
I usually don't like the so called "movie video essays" on UA-cam but this video is genuinely one of the better ones that has came out in recent years. We need more videos like this
Talking about south indian cinema , majority of so called superstars are just like bollywood , they don't choose quality content, or good directors script. Just substandard movies for stupid fans , with so much potential wasting and its really frustrating. Stars like Rajnikant, Vijay , Ajith were part of some good movies in the past and now doomed . Until and unless this fan trent stop we might not see any good work or acting from Allu arjun , Prabhas , Jr NTS or Ramcharan. Tables could be tured only if the directors and script writers get more importance than a film star .
These actors are seated at a pedestal and now they select random screenplays which are bound to be commercial flicks not giving a care for the audience. Prabhas being the biggest one. Man's so blinded by money he's forgotten acting. Jr NTR is trying too hard to mimic the same success from RRR he's losing his credibility as an actor. At least Rajnikanth is a GOATED actor and proved himself in Jailer but Vijay is just preying on people with his stardom and he's likely to quit acting soon anyways. Allu Arjun is flying high thinking he's achieved it all with Pushpa 2. I mean we all know whats up with Pushpa 2. Ajith will not act subtly and experiment with non action genre like he used to and he too is chasing the blockbuster dream but I'm still holding hope for his upcoming films to succeed. Ram Charan's Game Changer. More like Game Over.. again an example of actors not choosing the screenplay wisely. Shankar is still stuck in 2000s with his outdated direction and plot lines. And he's singlehandedly producing cringe after cringe.
In my point of view, the Indian film industries, like Bollywood or Tollywood, need to look back in the past if they want a bright future for Indian cinema. For example, my favorite Bollywood films are from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Movies like Awara, Mughal-e-Azam and even Don worked as films because everything in them worked organically. Every character mattered, every word in the screenplay had a purpose, and every scene or sequence was important. Today, movies are more worried about the hero, women, or forced comedy than the story itself (yes, I am talking to you, Pushpa). And, just like that, they still make hundreds of crores.
@@BabaV2000no his previous films like circus and this Singham again is utter bad but his old films like golmaal , gangajal was soo good . He knew how to make movies but he still not doing anything new . And doing the old thing in a bad way

Great video. Hope you make more such essays. I think one element we tend to miss is the taste of the average Indian cinema goer. Even with exposure to international movies on the cheap (Jio Cinema is 30 rupees a month for example), the avg Indian movie goer is chapri at heart and is a big fan of at least one brainless actor/icon, and prefers to watch garbage movies like Pushpa, Martin, iSmart, GOAT etc. While film makers, production houses, and distributors have to pull their socks up, I don't think the common Indian movie goer is changing his or her taste anytime soon.
I have commented the same on someone's channel too: I am tired of """Mein sabko pit sakta hu films """ ..really ..I miss bollywood pre south films copy era ...
Great insight into the problems plaguing Indian Cinema across industries for the uninitiated. For the people in the know, this is news as old as the hills and frankly, solutions are nowhere in sight!! Many industry professionals and indie filmmakers have expressed that this year has marked a major shift and the only hurdle that's standing in their way is distribution of their films. Let's make 2025 the year in which we solve this issue 😤😤 seek out whatever small theatre or single screen is screening these smaller budget gems and support them. Spread word about its locations and demand for more screens so that the film can reach its intended audience!! For once let's use social media to restore the lost balance in Indian Cinema, so that a Pushpa 2, Baby John can coexist with All We Imagine As Light, Putul(Bengali)!!!
First of all, only Telugu and kannada film industry does aggressive marketing in northern states. Right now malayalam being doing it so well. Tamil did not flexed its marketing in north after 90s, early 2000s.. They will be doing in their upcoming ventures.
Dude you are a tiny minority and will always remain one, 95% of masses watch films for entertainment nothing more nothing less whatever the format it is, can be high quality visual experience that hollywood gives or mass masala dialogues that indian films give, your so called content based films in my opinion aren't even for theatres.
And that 95% guys says the India can't make movies like hollywood movies . But the actual point is the Indian audience doesn't deserve something like hollywood. For some sake of entertainment audience are killing content .

I disagree with your opinions about dubbed films. Those films won't be watched with a sub. Why shouldn't a film lose some of its original charm if it gets a wider audience? You should really study this phenomenon but the indian audience doesn't like subs.
