have you played the older one "thehunter classic" or a similar game " Cabelas big hunt" if not I recommend them. they both very similar to this game but would change things up and give you something new to do. of course come back to call of the wild.

I like the game but there are a lot of things that need touching up. See how it runs after the update thats suppose to be coming with another map. Kind of scared about it since they said they will spread the animals out even more. Crap they can be a pain finding now. These videos are deceiving because you see them finding animals left and right, including diamonds, but there is a crap ton of editing going on.
this game lack of feature, cabela ultimate deer hunt from PS1 was masterpiece. it had night & day, you can sleep in a tent, you have vehicle, you can buy so many tools to hunt. just awesome. i wish there is new game like that again.

for people who have never played this game, IT IS THE MOST REALISTIC HUNTING GAME, i spend hours on it the maps are huge what makes it realistic is you could walk around for hours and not see anything, only get if your looking for realism not action.

James Unger , just keep in mind this is not GTA, Fallout, Just Cause or anything so you are not hunting humans. In this game, you are hunting....ANIMALS. In other words, don't gun and run but SNEAK. Animals are dumbfoundingly sensitive and fearful of us human beings.
it's 2021 and I have downloaded this game yeaterday for the first time. I'm a life time gamer and it's definitely the hardest game I have ever played. (btw i'm a hunter in real life also) Great content

Lemme give you a tip. NEVER track animals unless they're bleeding and you're giving chase. You will SPEND so much time tracking, the only time you'd be able to get a kill in while tracking is if they want to go eat drink or rest. You will find so many more animals from just walking around, and you can just walk instead of sprint or crouch, the animals won't know.
Only played COW for a week or two, but got some hrs logged on the first theHunter. I love hunting with a bow and arrow, and can't stop smiling when I track and kill bison or buffalo with a single shot. Easily one of my all time favourite games ever!

The soft points do more damage in that they expand as they hit so you don't have to be as accurate. They don't penitrate deep but they destroy whatever they hit.

@@poopedyscoopedy3288 When in real life a 243 soft point will shatter a bears skull. The round is more powerful at 500 yards than a 5.56 round is at 200.
German Hunter here, I you go hunting in real life, don't go for spine shots. You'll hit the spinous process, the deer will collapse, wiggle its feet and after a short time run off. Very difficult for a dog to find even if it dies eventually. Inhumane and just suboptimal shot placement. I get that this is a game. Waidmannsheil.
I am a beginner ( I started yesterday) and I went up to a moose and just gave him a shotty shell to his leg. I tracked him, shot him in the spine, tracked him more, and gave him a shotgun shell to his lung. I was so proud

Spent about 2 hours getting no kills except one deer I did kill in my first hour. Spotted moose near the water but had no luck. Then found this video and realized the animals can sense you from far away. Found a mythical bear but it got away. 5 minutes later killed two black tail deer. So going to keep trying for a bit longer on getting better.

Hey Flinter, rewatching this one again. I can hear how much your voice has changed from 2018 to 2021. Would love it if you did a new beginner guides, maybe starting on a different map. Then, I made a decision that changed my COTW life: I bought the Modern Rifle Pack DLC for $3.99 and equipped the Zarza-10 .308 Let me say this: if you are a beginner, and you want to level up the old fashioned way, don't do this. Stick with the .243, and take your time. But if you want to progress a million times faster, and actually knock down your targets without having to be right on top of them, spend the $4, buy the DLC, and be amazed. I cannot stress to you enough the difference that it made. It is literally a game-changer. It will be the best $4 you've ever spent.

A lot of mobile game companies have been stealing footage for their ads lately, and getting away with it. The ads for mobile games are all false advertising these days, scummy tactics.
This game is so great. Its so fun to play a walking simulator like this. You walk for hours and hours so you can get one shot at an animal. Then, when you shoot them right in the head they just run for miles and miles, pretty much invincible such a fun game!
I found using soft point with the 243 on bears brain shot works perfect even at distance but if it's feeding and lowers its head up close you can get skull brain and neck bones/spine for 100% quick kill I haven't had great luck with lung and spine broadside with this gun and softpoints

I just started playing on xbox. was reluctant at first because for years I can't find a hunting game that comes close to Atari's deer hunter or trophy hunter. the one thing I'm most disappointed with this one is my max view range is 465 yards, Trophy hunter my ole lady and me would take ram at 600+.

3:18 I just started a game, saw a black bear next to the starting deer, but he ran and I got a shotgun shot to the lung. 5 minutes after and the purle area showed up. My first kill of my new character was a black bear with a shotgun lmaoo
I dont understand...i am new to this game but when i run i never see anything...i have even crouched and walked around for over an hour and never seen a single animal...how are you running around and seeing animals every 30 seconds? You are running and are withing 100ft of some of these animals if i run i cant find one...
You can run on roads to get to places faster and make less noise, and watch out for animal calls. As soon as you see or hear the animal, you can just sneak up there and kill it, ofc watch out for wind direction too.
M8 just run to the other end of lakes, animal gathering points, you can also run to places in high ground, openings Beneath, use your bingos too, you can will often see animals in the distant foliage, then you go from there :)
I play a game called Dayz which is a zombie apocalypse survival game. In this you often need to shoot animals to survive. I enjoy harvesting the meat, making the fire and cooking up the meat and the feeling of surviving and living off the land. I was looking at some chill survival games to play and came across this, which is obviously much more in depth. It looks really good. The trouble is I just find something inherently distasteful about killing animals just for fun, for trophies. Even in a video game it just seems really depressing to me. I will never understand why anyone would want to kill an animal if not to eat it.

Take hunters Education get a license and go hunting it's an awesome experience. This game is fun but doesn't give you the same adrenaline rush or excitement as when your actually hunting.

Some people wear orange or bright colors so they don't get shot. I don't wear it because the animals I'm hunting can see me easier as well. I won't get shot unless someone is trespassing on my property. Most of the time when I'm hunting it'll usually be for deer so I'd be up in my deer blind.

I called in a coyote to 5 metres and shot it in the chest with the .243 with polymer tips. That fucker ran 200 metres before dying. A lot of the shots that I use hunting IRL do nothing in this game hahaha.

I found using soft point with the 243 on bears brain shot works perfect even at distance but if it's feeding and lowers its head up close you can get skull brain and neck bones/spine for 100% quick kill I haven't had great luck with lung and spine broadside with this gun and softpoints

Great videos brother. I just started playing on xbox. was reluctant at first because for years I can't find a hunting game that comes close to Atari's deer hunter or trophy hunter. the one thing I'm most disappointed with this one is my max view range is 465 yards, Trophy hunter my ole lady and me would take ram at 600+.

Spine shot on a black bear is totally doable with a .243, soft point. I did it at almost 100 yds, at one time. :-)

I dont understand...i am new to this game but when i run i never see anything...i have even crouched and walked around for over an hour and never seen a single animal...how are you running around and seeing animals every 30 seconds? You are running and are withing 100ft of some of these animals if i run i cant find one...

You can run on roads to get to places faster and make less noise, and watch out for animal calls. As soon as you see or hear the animal, you can just sneak up there and kill it, ofc watch out for wind direction too.
M8 just run to the other end of lakes, animal gathering points, you can also run to places in high ground, openings Beneath, use your bingos too, you can will often see animals in the distant foliage, then you go from there :)
I play a game called Dayz which is a zombie apocalypse survival game. In this you often need to shoot animals to survive. I enjoy harvesting the meat, making the fire and cooking up the meat and the feeling of surviving and living off the land. I was looking at some chill survival games to play and came across this, which is obviously much more in depth. It looks really good. The trouble is I just find something inherently distasteful about killing animals just for fun, for trophies. Even in a video game it just seems really depressing to me. I will never understand why anyone would want to kill an animal if not to eat it.

Take hunters Education get a license and go hunting it's an awesome experience. This game is fun but doesn't give you the same adrenaline rush or excitement as when your actually hunting.

Some people wear orange or bright colors so they don't get shot. I don't wear it because the animals I'm hunting can see me easier as well. I won't get shot unless someone is trespassing on my property. Most of the time when I'm hunting it'll usually be for deer so I'd be up in my deer blind.

I called in a coyote to 5 metres and shot it in the chest with the .243 with polymer tips. That fucker ran 200 metres before dying.
A lot of the shots that I use hunting IRL do nothing in this game hahaha.
