Miss you so much John. Too weird to live and too rare to die. One of the greats...rip brother
John was so special.
We were all lucky to have him.
If I ever have kids one day, I'll be sure to make it be known in the household that the blues is real.
My son is 15 & has known all the words to this since he was 5 & he still loves it! Thanks to his dad, RIP Tommy 1-14-64 ~ 7-10-09, who as a musician taught him to love real music. Play this for your kids & keep it alive!
This band was really good.
The bop rings out again yippeeeee
Thank you SO MUCH for providing these original live performances. I've been dying to get my hands on some and you've help me prevent my diatribe, haha, thank you :)

And written by another Canadian, Donnie Walsh...Downchild Blues Band celebrating their 40th.
Very talented and troubled soul. What a shame. RIP JB
@CarlSchwamberger
Hi. The first song performed by the Blues Brothers at SNL (while not wearing their trademark suit yet) should be King Bee, look for it on UA-cam.
Thanks a lot for sharing those great songs with us !
what a great band
R.I.P Alan aka Mr Fabulous! Now playing with John and the other greats up there. You will be missed.
Dear Lord: Give us back John Belushi, you can have both Justin Beiber and Ke$ha in return. AMEN!
Hyper super big bon comme toujours
this is a great video thanks for loading it
@CarlSchwamberger Think I read somewhere that the Band preceeded SNL....
Lol!! Me gusto esta cancion pero nunca he visto este video. Espero que haya mas de estos videos. ^^
Tom Scott! wow. He didn't play in the SNL band. Some of the other guys did.
Scott was hired to fill in for Bones Malone for the first three Universal Amphitheatre shows because Malone’s wife was giving birth in New York. When Malone arrived Scott thought his time was up but Belushi liked his playing so much he told him he was a Blues Brother. When it came time to negotiate a contract, Scott’s agent told Belushi that Scott was paid triple the union scale when he did sessions although that only happened occasionally. Belushi agreed to pay him the same rate for each show and that’s why Belushi gave Scott the nickname. “Triple Scale”.
Thank you Downchild
oh man thank you for posting this video..
xoxoxo
they epitomized and defined cool
Is that Letterman 's side kick - Paul shaved-head in there .

AND WE ARE ON A MISSION FROM GOD!!!
Where the hell is this from?! I have seen this and some other clips, obviously from the same event - is there any Fan-DVD or something like that? I´d really LOVE to get this real HOT Blues-Brothers-Material in DVD quality!!!
That was awesome! Love Tom Scott's solos. Do you have the one where they play "Jailhouse Rock" from this same show?
Elwood’s doing the moonwalk before Michael Jackson did it! Check out 3:30 and wait for it!
@tiedyebandanachick
Unfortunately the Lord would never fall for a deal that bad. He's not stupid.
Not much audience participation, but what a band!
back when auto tune was just a song you played in the car.
Damned drugs took a great talent
I miss John Belushi, I'd like to see his brother James be the other half of the Blues Brothers, he does a great job of it, hear that Dan Ackroyd? Just like Julian Lennon should've filled in for John!
Please Paul. I'll be calm. Let's just talk. Its long overdue. Please
God, when Shaffer had some hair. *lol* Landis (John) said he was supposed to be in the first film but he was under a contract obligation with SNL. So, they ended up replacing him with Murphy Dunne.
didn't that sax player used to be in the SNL band? that sound...
Yes this is Lou Marini and he played in SNL Band from 1976 until 1983 (before Blues Brothers Band). He also played with Frank Zappa, Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman, Billy Preston, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Elton John and Lew Soloff
T Olaf Balzer Also, Lou was in Blood Sweat and Tears!
+Olaf Balzer And so did Alan Rubin and Tom Malone. They, too, were with the band from 1975 to 1983. Tom still hung around with the band even though Michael Brecker was the new sax player that time.
He was often called "Blue Lou..."
2 people didnt join in when John pointed
What's with the aspect ratio . . .
Does anyone know a website where to find the chords with the lyrics all together? I've googled it but only get the lyrics :s
I think he"s still canadian, isn"t he??
Let's throw in Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj, and maybe we can get John, Mr. Fabulous, AND Duck Dunn!!
0:57
where?
@CuylerHillKing You bet it's Paul Shaffer! He and Dan Ackroyd are the crypto-Canadian contingent.
In fact, he now runs a small family of organised crime. They are the "Blues Band". He also spent some days on burzaco raising hens.
Just kidding :P
there are two people who got a very poor taste of music
