  • This is a video of my mdf cnc routed vidco machine it can make 1.5 mm , 2 mm and 3 mm diameter fuse by changing a couple of parts around.
    It runs off a 24 volt 60 rpm motor with a 4.1 - 1 gear ratio between the main pulley and the 6 spool wrapping pulley .
    i will eventually get around to a diy but not for at least 4 months .

    Cool ass fuse machine. I definitely dig it. I think you should always light off a sample so we can actually see how it works. Great video!!

    Now that is a very impressive little fuse machine. They aren’t easy to build-and run smoothly that is. I tried a couple of years ago but just couldn’t get it right. The fuses I made were loose and inconsistent. I suppose next you could work out a way to coat them with NC lacquer to improve the structure and maybe waterproof them.

    • @nuxschannel1433
      @nuxschannel1433  6 років тому +2

      AllChemystery Thanks , once your finished you remove the spool then you can coat the fuse in nitrocellulse i tie it to 2 council bins and have a container of nc which slides over the fuse coating it with the nc .

    okay, I've got an off the wall question...
    if mil-spec / commercial time safety fuse has asphalt tar substance... has anyone ever chanced it by separating strands of tarred bankline(s)
    (or similar)
    & run through their machine ?
    I'm aware that it's easier to put 3 to 5 layers of heatshrink tubing on,
    & less maintenance / cleaning...
    my questions are,
    is it feasible ?
    will it slow & even the burn rate ?

      PYRO-GENT i have to use 3” 3mm fuse for my product. Any ideas on or contacts that I might be able to call?

    • @PYROGENT
      @PYROGENT 5 років тому

      I’ve no contacts I’m afraid. To make a 3mm fuse you simply make the diameter of the top die a little larger and include more threads on the die carousel (the spinning plates holding the threads). With an existing working model, you can change the parts in the top die to create different widths of fuse.
