I tried playing Hellion but it was biggy and kinda boring.
Clear & Present Prepping thats why it should be removed
@@ToxicSkull0 Sadly I agree. I feel for the devs though. It's tough doing that.
Have you ever played MP, and just played for fun? It’s cheap and still F hard! Plzz leave this game alone!!!
Stfu Alex you've commented like 4 times already. The game is dead af
I'm starting to see a pattern.
Whenever I see a cool looking game on Steam i'm like "wow, cool concept devs, I'll buy it later when it feels more finished".
Then, when i've forgotten about it I see youtubers claiming the game is dead, then I go to its steam page and the reviews are mostly negative.
I guess i'm saving money atleast?
Lol 😂
I have experienced the same. checking on them once in a while through my wishlist, often forgetting I put the game there. But yea, it can save you money!
you seem to be clairvoyant, saves you a lot of money!
I copped the game for free just before it WAS taken off steam. I actually enjoyed the game quite a bit aside from the occasional bug that I personally experienced. But any serious issues were fixed with a simple restart. I wish the game had been able to continue development as this is such a good idea and I really enjoyed it. Thankfully the Hellion Rescue Project is planning to fix a lot of the issues and even update the game themselves.
A lot of games should be removed from steam...
@3D Modeller Nah that one should stay
@3D Modeller missed that one
@3D Modeller noo noo not that one
True, but that would require Valve to create a larger criteria for what games they’ll allow on their platform and it’d backfire as Steam is now. Though I’d say “a game you intent to finish” would be a good start.
80% of all games should be removed on steam.
So they’re selling abandonware. (By their own admission) while stealing money to fund their own stuff, while claiming to have run out of money.
This developer should be black listed.
That’s if they’re producing another game, which from what I’ve seen is just a rumour. However they should still be viewed with suspicion if they aren’t making another game with their funds, and if they make another game then I wouldn’t touch it.
Yet that doesn’t stop them. Tarnish a name or development studio... just close it down and open the buisness up again with another name.
at least they are honest. they have no place in dirty dev series.
They could have put it in maintenance mode and claim they are still working on it. But no, they were honest.
It will be funny (or not) if CIG have the courage of one day, say X is unfixable due to spaggetticode. But it probably will never be release officially so that the real cash shop stays up with ship for hundreds or thousand of dollars while keeping the "it's still a beta" excuse forever.
@@LukasRustemeyer Please do ur research and look up the development history of ff14 1.0.
@@LukasRustemeyer when was the last time you heard of a movie being released with sound missing and only some of the CGI completed? When was the last time you heard of a toy manufacture only releasing a toy half built and selling it. This is an unfinished product and it is being sold. No company releases an unfinished product.
honestly... they should have lowered the game to roughly $3.00 released mod tools updated the steam page to say what happened and idk make development a hobby to get rid of the bugs

@No Name Uh yea they have, SC 3.8 is very much a game at this point and has been for quiet a while I am sorry but these old jokes just go to show that you know nothing of Star Citizen lol
@No Name Ahahahahahahahaha man these jokes are so old it hurts... Honestly in 2019 these jokes just make you look really dumb especially since many games like Hellion can't get off the ground but please keep going we will keep laughing.
VR BRO bro SC is a buggy, shitty mess. Stop acting like it’s something it isn’t. You can’t even run a mission without running into some crazy bugs, most of them mission breaking.

@@minusrandloev261 Its the generation after baby boomers.
It’s more of a space survival game. It’s more like “The Forest” or “Rust” than Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen
This is why I no longer want to support early access games. Even though games like ARK, Rust, Miscreated, PUBG removed the "Early Access" tag to their games they still run and are updating like early access games.
And if no more purchases are made they will stop development bet your life on it
Rust and PUBG are more than complete games so whats the issue?
Continuous update is not exclusive an early access thing. If so you might as well say WoW is an early access game.
I agree. In theory early access can work, it did for Slime Rancher and it seems to have worked for Hades, but developers use early access as an excuse to release barely functioning games and leave them to stagnate. It’s annoying because it’s not the idea that was bad, just the execution.
I hear a lot of this but every early access game I've bought eventually left it as a completed product
Whenever this happens i find my finest wine, light my caramel mocha scented candles, find my fart robe with silk from eastern lands, and sit in my recliner and scoff.
A man of culture👏👏
*fart robe*
Whencyou fart in a robe it allows your farts to travel upward towards the collar area allowing you to smell your concentrated fart. Its the highest quality sniff of fart you can get without it being polluted by fresh air or losing its potency by free dispersion.
hey look what happened to Fallout 76 people still bought it even for $60
Yeah don't remind me, I still had some fun with my German friends on there though.
Is it still cool to trash on FO76? I played it with friends and got my money's worth. It really is nowhere near as bad as people make it to be. People like you seem to hop on the bandwagon to trash that game, but I'd wager you've never even played it.
hey the game was fun at launch but yeah they fuck ruined it
i didnt buyed fallout 76
You literally can't Glad you still managed to get some fun out of it, but the game is not being trashed for not being ‘fun’. The game is being trashed for being a ‘flagship status’ product which was released way too early and the developers were aware of this, since they have not fixed the issues or content they promised since the start, and since they turned to even more buyable content updates (even outside of cosmetic updates) I’m wondering if I’ll ever spend my hard earned money on a bethesda game again. I used to love the studio, but Fallout 76 is nothing more than an unfinished cash cow sadly
Oh look. A small dev studio trying to make a huge game and failing because it was far much more than they could ever succeed in creating?
Who could have foreseen that! :O
I was actually looking forward to Hellion. My hopes for it releasing were, however, very low.
Star Citizen studio(CIG?) when they launched with kickstarter was absolutely tiny :) After couple years of funding they achieved size of aaa. In case of ZH it just didn't go that well ;)
@@Lesminster yes but when are they ever going to actually release a real game? How many years have they been in development? A lot of people still have quite a few big bugs when they try and play
@@Skyhunter826 When you take a look on how much time it takes for regular fully developed AAA studio to produce their flag-type game you will notice Star Citizen development doesnt really take that much time, especially considering the scope of it ;) GTA V took like 10 years or so and rockstar was already big back when they started. Other thing is regular games are not revealed till some state of development or until finished, and what is even more important you won't hear of any bugs and problems of a development process of a game that is not on early access so you may get the impression that Star Citizen is somehow worse or "full of bugs", it is but it is early access game and every game in it's state would be stuffed with issues, but you just won't hear about them from a studio that is not obligated to tell you ;) Worth mentioning is that optimization usually takes place after certain crucial game modules are finished.
Lesminster you forgot to mention another thing, SC will be pushing the limits of what’s possible in modern gaming, that, coupled with the fact that they are an indie studio developing their first game makes the amount of development time spent seem reasonable.
Horrible Games and Devs: Exists*
BigFry: “So you have chosen... death”
ToxicSkull0 I feel like nothing happens to them anyway

I love the community you've built with both fans, and content creators Fry. Seriously, all of you bounce off of each other, you make topics like these seen and shared to so many people by working together, sharing information, and shouting each other out. All this probably goes without saying, but you guys are bringing people together, and keeping them informed. Brilliant work to everyone involved. Here for 10k, here for 100k, and I'll sure as hell be here for a mil. up up up baby!
The 'former programmer' said that it needed to be rebuilt. My guess is that when the developer told the investor that they needed to go back to step 1 the investor decided there was not enough interest in the game to warrant further investment
That was cool to see my gameplay featuring this video. My experience with the Hellion was rather positive, especially when the devs added single player mode `cause multiplayer was literally unplayable with all the bugs it used to have. But i agree with BigfryTV`s message that the front page of the game in Steam has to be changed as it is misleading people who just surfing the Steam store and know nothing about the case. By "misleading" i mean that nearly 60% of the game features listed are still marked as "in development". That`s a shame.
If they can afford to make another game then why the hell didn't they finish it.
Well, to play Devil’s advocate, that’s only a rumour at this point and they have denied it by saying that they don’t have the money to keep their studio together. Granted that could be a lie, or maybe just one of the guys took the money and ran, but I wouldn’t buy any new games they release.
@@annabella1650 Agreed
The issue here is that if hellion should be removed from steam, then you need to go have a look at After Reset, a tech demo that has been on steam for a very long time with a 30 quid price tag, with no obvious development going on (barring a developer decision to drop the price to 14.99 for the sale). At the very least, hellion is a game that you can play and enjoy to a certain degree.
I've paid full price for the game just when it was released. I like the fact that they use orbital physics, I liked how difficult it was to pilot and doc ships I wanted to support the development of this game. I knew there is a chance the game my fail completely. Last time I played the game was about 3 years ago. It was fun :) It sucks that they fail and I wish more game devs try to make games with real orbital physics.
I like when you say. "Assholey"
@No Name poetry
Pocketing the remaining money, is no pure business model, this is called exit scam.
Btw, what is the point of putting the rest of the money into new projects? Who would be wanting to buy into any new projects from such devs?
Unfortunately a lot of people don't check devs before purchasing or even prepurchasing games.
This is why Steam needs a developer and publisher review system, so people can see how good those folks are or if they’ve got a reputation for crappy behaviour.
Barring one person's review on the steam page, there is no evidence that there is any money left.
@darkironphoenix
That’s true and should be taken into account, but they still have a webpage for the game up and the Steam page is still advertising features they aren’t adding. I’d say that’s at least a bit suspect.
@@annabella1650 They should update the description sure, but as for the webpage, the game is still for sale, so i don't really see why they can't have a webpage for it, as long as it reflects the state of the game.
I remember this. I was pretty interested in it and wanted to wait simply because it was so ambitious. Good thing I waited.
I was in the same boat, waiting until they had things ironed out before dropping money on it. Perfect example of dodging a bullet.
Good choice.
As a general rule of thumb I don’t touch early access games that are multiplayer focused (or touch early access at all really), because it’s never easy to come up with a good idea and not execute it.
@@annabella1650 there's some Early access games that I get into. ONLY if they have a clear vision, and there is enough at the EA release of the game to get into.
@DeusMachina
I watch the ones I’m interested in and wait for a full release.
@@annabella1650 that's fair. I'm just not entirely scared of EA because I've backed quite a few things that came to full release. So I'm not too worried. And out of all of them only 2 never fully released.
I agree, it might not have been intentional and they had a serious lack of skills to tackle the issues the fact is, as you said, way to early in early access and the way they decided to react to the situation. The proper way would have been to do what the documentation recommends under "What happens if I don't complete my game?" and contact STEAM. If they don't make profit anyway, they could just pull the game and close the servers with a 6 month notice to fans or similar.
Developers never seem to read the documentation STEAM gives them and if they do they just ignore the guidelines and think they know better.
I think content creators have read it more than devs.
Why would you screw the people who backed you even MORE by shutting down the servers? These Guy's are keeping the servers OPEN so people can play and they turned the game over to the Mods, they did a lot better then they could have.
@BigfryTV Hey man, have you heard of Guardians of Orion? It's currently in phase 1, it costs only a dollar on Steam, and the Devs said that Phase 2 will bring in a lot more content hopefully. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.
You should review Hentai World War 2. It’s a hardcore tactical shooter that shows off the horrors of war and the brutal reality of it all.
Happy new year!!! I hope this coming year is fantastic for you!
@No Name happy new year to you too and i wish you a wonderful year and sorry you have the grumps
"Hey, we started making the game, and althought we haven't finished it officially, people weren't paying and playing so we decided to stop making the game"
The game is being removed from steam tight now.
Its free to keep until 30.3.2020 and then the game wont be purchasable.
Pretty sad :( it had potential but devs f***ed it up
The interesting thing is that they used Early Access as a way to keep their mismanaged project above water, pushing their problems onto their consumers and delaying the inevitable instead of fixing the fundamental issues with their broken product before public release.
Early Access is not an excuse to put a price tag on a broken product.
Hey man, brilliant video! I am totally with you. I tested the game too in it's early stages on my channel and eventhough it was very promissing, it did never deliver what we expected. Keeping the game on Steam shows exactly what problems we had in the last years with that whole early access-crap. Games should put on the market when they are ready. Thx for your vids, keep on rockin' and Happy New Year!
I have the opposite issue. Saw it during the development, went "cool, I'll pop back here in a year's time to see you guys still have the same vision / haven't sold out / when the game is more complete and is less 'early access' and whatnot" - turns it out it got abandoned, pity but fair enough. Now when the devs left it as free to play due to abandoning the project, I can't find it anywhere to try and see where they got up to since it's not available on Steam and can't be downloaded anywhere else...
the only way someone that doesnt have it on their library is to family share, have it downloaded on a computer then request the access from the steam owner, but the owner cant be on at the same time.
Dont forget that there are also great Games in Early Access. Deep Rock Galactic, The Forest, Rimworld. :) ROCK AND STONE !
... yes and now compare this good games with bad ones, so who wins? how many bad early access are existing compared to good ones? :x
FTL its not all failure stories.
The game looks good tho
jusuf kartoev there are parts that are actually FUN. I’ve played it a bunch. Even as recently as a month ago.
jusuf kartoev A game can look good, but that doesn't mean it IS good (like Order 1886 or Ryse)
@@sheriffaboubakar9720 ryse is good though. It may be short but I thoroughly enjoyed it when I played it
I bought this game because of bluedrake 42 lol last early access game I ever bought it was good but sad it didn't take off now Star Citizen is the only one left that is actually doing something good with 3.8 and here's hoping all the money they made will turn out a good game after Dayz and this game Early Access is a reminder how we can only support so much as it's up to the developers to show promise gameplay and future updates
Bludrakes titles....are like this
Bluedrake is a frakkin' joke tho', I mean. Come on! :O
The Long Dark is one of the (very) few good Early Access stories. Especially considering most Early Access Survival games are a dime a dozen shit-shows. Yall should check it out if ya havnt. Just wanted to shout out my fave game ^^
No, it shouldn't. What if a person who doesn't own it wants to play the game? Then what?
Agreed there enough "Game" for someone to play for dozens of hours just Put a Tag on it "Unfinished Abandoned by Devs" and let people try it if they think it's interesting.l The devs handed over the game to the Mods and left the servers running so anyone can play they could have said OH well shut it down and shut down the servers they didn't.
I'm 100% sure this is a result of Star Citizen. The devs are fully aware of the shadow that Star Citizen is casting on all new space games, they know they have less capital, less users and ultimately a dramatically smaller market share. They're scared and they know they won't be able to match SC, hence moving onto other projects. Change my mind
Yes that's actually a possibility.
Won't be able to match SC? It's pretty easy to match and surpass a game that will never come out haha.
I’m surprised by their response. I was like 99% certain they were going to start throwing “defamation” around.
I remember watching someone stream this on twitch a few years ago, and almost getting sick from watching it. I was one of the people that begged you to cover it.
Early access is so hard to judge. This is one of a number of games that just failed and fell far short of what was promised. At the same time, look at The Isle, a game that looked so bad at first, that was buggy beyond belief. Now it is a wonderful game, with a great dev team. Its even getting a full recode to fix the issues they cant with their current system.
Early access is like kickstarter. Some projects are amazing, and some never even reach backers.
Correct its a Gamble Day One, Nothing is guaranteed..its up to you as an Adult to decide if you want to take the Risk.
It is definitely a mixed bag, most do fail, but you can get some real gems like Rimworld, prison architect, and others.
I actually bought this last year. I never got into it much even though I love survival games. The idea was really great and I only put a few hours into it. But ultimately I stopped playing because it was very finicky. Especially trying to put your ship back together. Everything else was pretty cool.
You wanna look into some shady bs in games look into project genome. I bought that game twice because I had high hopes for it. A new relaunch, Facebook posts and videos showing development and then all of a sudden nothing...twice now.

I still like the concept. I am eager to get to play such a game in the future. They should try to sell the code or sell the IP.
Do you guys know if there still is any way to get the game?
It's going to be free on steam at the end of the month
so me and my friend have been working for about a year and a half on a massive mod for the game . basicly expanding the game even further with everything they said ' work in progress) being done aswell . i been tyring to contact the developers about the mod because we're not tryna get sued when we release this to the public
Thank you for doing this video Big, i bought 2 licenses of this game to support the development, i got a lot of drama from some moderators for giving them feedback, i got banned from their discord server for saying "murica" in the context that i was joking around with a friend in their server, and a moderator said it was racism, and just banned me without giving me any second to talk about it.
I was part of the so called "Test Squad", i invested myself into this game, tried to help out, and then, they decided to end the community "test squad" internalizing the test team, basically silencing the feedback from the community, they are shady.
I agree that the game should not be set as "complete" it is a total lie and bullshit. They deserve the bad rep they are getting and i think it is not enough.
In the steam discussion board there's a lot of people defending them saying we should CHILL because we got what we paid for, and we should not say the are scum.
Hey i am super ok with people wanting to hand down money to these guys, but i have the right to complain, since i paid for the game. No one has the right to silence backlash, if you think it's all good for you, nice, go live your life, let the ones that do not agree with you, lash out.
I clicked the report button on the steam page for this game saying that the game was not completed and should not be for sale. But of course it was ignored. :-\
If only all early access devs followed the model of Rimworld
Fair arguments. I bought Hellion, I'm actually still playing it. I think it sucks they can't complete it. Do I feel I lost my money?
I put 43 enjoyable hours into the game. Bought it for 22 euros.
A simplistic method I use is that I rate how satisfied about a game by dividing the money by the amount of hours played if that number is above 1 then I'm not happy about my purchase.
that's 0.511 for Hellion. (Kerbal space program was really good at 0.05 probably even lower because I've spent ages playing it before it even got to steam early access) Subnautica was somewhere in between. Those games made it in part because of early access.
So in short... No... I didn't waste my money.. I'd still spend the money knowing what I know now.
It's early access. You know you're playing an incomplete game, a game that you risk will never be completed. The upside is that you're investing in the dreams of game-devs. I was part of the hellion experience. I enjoyed the game, and still do. And the few euros won't break my bank.
You win some you lose some.
They should however clearly indicate the status of the game as no longer under production on the store page. Not doing so is unethical. I understand the issues they probably have with lost revenue for a company that is small and struggling. But that's no excuse to mislead your customers. I have recommended against buying the game on steam for this reason.
I loved this game, if it simply wasn't for the game breaking bugs from allowing me to progress... I could have sank a few hundred more hours into it. I just wanted bugs fixed but they kept adding content instead of fixing the game. Overall it is disappointing how things ended up.
Just go play Star Citizen.

Politica Agnostica what?
Seems exactly like what Bossa did with Worlds Adrift
Any one want to play hellion later today?
Hey Fry, had a suggestion for a game that is similar to this. It’s called Pulsar: Lost Colony. It’s Early Access but it’s only 15$ I believe. Would like to know your opinion on it if you get the chance. I know it is not exactly your style of game but it’s multiplayer and hasn’t let my group down yet so. Thank you 😊👋
The only early access games I have are Raft and Deep Rock Galactic (which btw deep rock is an underrated experience), and I think it might be best to keep it that way.
Drink every time BigFry says “In my opinion”
Why add a Star Citizen tag when talking about another game?
Its good that you explained what Hellion is because I had no idea, so thanks !
@No Name WHAT !!!!!
Hellion developers are a bunch of guys from Belgrade, Serbia, who were essentially given a ton of money to make this game. Serbs being Serbs, they ended up squandering most of it on overpriced computers and an overpriced workspace equipped with things like massage chairs, gym, beds, etc., George Romero-style. The management essentially heavily mismanaged the funds the company had, which is why the company went down the drain and the project was released like this.
Giga do you have any evidence to support this?
If that’s true then the game was scam
Many studios are doing this, using the money to develop new projects and abandon the last ones...
Right on point BigFry. IMHO I would like to see a dark area of Steam where the dead games go. It’s practically a niche at this point. Price games low enough to cover the cost of memory on Steam servers ($1?), and release the source code so each game’s community can continue dev if they do so wish. That way the consumer knows they are in no mans land. I would pay $1 for a good laugh. I got in early on when they first released, as I do for ALOT of EA games - $15 is my limit. I guess it’s a form of gambling for me. I consider the $ potentially gone, and I’m not heart broken if it goes under & I win when the game takes off, as I got it at a discount.
12:35 I don't know if you've ever been coding is a huge code base, but you get some shit I can tell you. When you have to rebuild the fundation, the whole goes to trash too.
That's too bad for them, it looked like it had potential but they obviously couldn't back up their goals :(
Damn good video, I sure hope GIG IS LISTENING TO THIS VIDEO. 2020 is almost here and soon almost gone.
Bigfry... I'd like you to look into the development of Starbase as kind of a case study. I find Frozenbyte to be the opposite of what you pointed out in this video. But I don't have the experience looking into game development like you do so I might be wrong

@@BigfryTV alright, will do

11:00 Failure is not the same as dishonesty.
Another great video! Thumbs up all day!
Aaand it is here, they offer it for free until 30.3., then there will be no way to obtain it. And then they will only keep servers up in maintenance mode.
I wouldn't say you've been to harsh. There's so many games I have wanted to buy early on, but won't until it's further along. I got Tarkov, but in its current state, it's at least pretty good. It more or less feels like a finished game. I have Session and Skater XL, and both of those need some more work. But they're still pretty playable. If any of those games were more or less abandoned, I would be a little upset, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.
But if a game is just more or less broken, and I'm just left with that, then I'm going to be pissed. And it's why I rarely ever get an early access game. Or it's why I never really even pre-order games. I'll wait to see what kind of state a game can be brought out in before giving them my money.
It looks decent but I never heard of it ... they should’ve put it out there
It was a fun little project to play as an alpha, but nowhere even close to a release state.
"genre" is the word you're looking for when comparing it to Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous
@No Name gotem
Star citizen but without the budget.
I just came to discover this game when browsing through a torrent website. Looks amazing on the paper. But now I'm not sure I'll give it a chance...
Big Fry, you said it right!!! Nobody is learning a Goddamn THING!!!!
If they cannot handle the funds then why not hire an accountant to set a budget for them or get minimum term investors to help
Kickstarter and crowd funded games have made game dev think they could do the most crazy game they ever imagine with a limited team and budget and good faith. But when you take star citizen that even if graphics and animation are way better to do the same type of gameplay you need the same type of tech. Thats also why star citizen was thinking they could make the game for 65 millions but after 8 years of devellopement and almost 1/3 of a billion they are still in alpha and they still need to devellop some core tech to make that idea of all those game mechanics work togheter and that why they will still need more money and time to finish it or try to finish it. Identity RPG the game that wqs supposed to be GTA online on steroids with much more mechanics and immersions well a team of 5 ppls in their basement and 1 million dollar they tought they would be able to beat a studio who have at least 1000 employee and an aproximation of 250 million buck for a game. Doing that is just impossible.
Please do a video like this on Frostkeep studios. The makers of Rend.
Thanks for that, I was gonna get it
I really love the idea of full newtonian physics and actual orbital mechanics in this game. The only other game I can think of with space feet and proper physics is KSP, which... is a very different experience, to say the least. The problem is that literally everything else about the game was incredibly jank. Good concept, bad execution.
Yea I agree with you Big, these devs took the coward way out ! and on top of that they misled a lot of people to. Its a sham that the game got caned because it looks kind of Cool ! But again looks isn't all !
You're wrong, if I want to have my friends play with me. I should be able to play with them.
No body plays it cus I didn't cover it "nar nar nar"
I won this game in a twitch giveaway, never played it after I won it
'Notice: At the request of the publisher, HELLION is no longer available for sale on Steam.' :(
I didn't cover it, that's why almost nobody plays it. Wow!
I was looking into this on launch, glad I never bought it lol
I bought it a while after it entered early access. Refunded it within the return period though, after noticing that the game wasn't to my liking. Glad I did.
I think people should take note of the devs that was involved with this project. Cause with their behavior, I would expect them to change the name of their "studio" before launching their other project as we seen with so many failed "games" before. The fact that they already have another project means they have known this for a long time, and planned for it. Watch out for them in 2020 and don't give them your money again.
For what it was Hellion was fun and a great experience for hardcore space sim. Such a shame it didn't suceed and that it sounds like they're dodgy.
Are there even modding tools for this game? with what money they had left they could have put in a modding tools for the community to continue enjoying it, I've put 70 hours into this game and I have enjoyed playing it, I wouldn't say it's like star citizen or elite dangerous it's more like Day Z where you have to collect objects and and Resources to stay alive and team up or fight off other players who are trying to do the same, if the dev's don't want to finish this game or leave it in a state where the community could continue working on modes of it, then I personally won't be buying any of their future projects.
They left the game in the hands of the Mods to work on and modify to their hearts content they left the servers up as well for people to play on as well..IMO that about as good as it could go barring full refunds which they can't do since they spent all the money on the dev of the game. It sucks but that the risk of any Early Access game.
fun fact, its off from steam a while now but there are modders working on this game now.
called Hellion Rescue Project, completely free of charge
Me and my friends had fun and enjoy the game, yes there is many bugs but still fun. I feel the community would make the game better with mods. Im not sure if zero gravity went out of business but they should of did what star citizen does, make it crowd funded, either by donations or buying and work with people. New ideas and people that live and breath mods have events that prize money for do this as in, here is the ablity to mod the game make a build with ship to ship docking, or ship modification. So people would do the work then get compensated for the coding. Hellion is not really like other games, I have star citizen and have put hundreds of dollars into that and im pretty sure I have more hours in hellion than that game which has millions of funding.
@@BadV00d00z Check out Hellion Rescue Project (HRP) if you havent already
They are working on Hellion, they already released a Version called HRP-Light with a few changes, lots of bugfixes, performance is way better and they are working on the version HRP-Full that is Hellion with Major changes and newly made Content, the launcher is free of charge but they are open for donations to the project.
I can finally relive memories i had in this game once again.
(im even open for crew ups ;D)
I actually was really interested in this game but forgot about it and now here we are......... oh well
this is one of my favourite games i was soo annoied when i found out they stopped developments i feel cheated why dont they let a different company take over and pick up the slack???
mount and blades a good example of gaming industy going in the right direction
For being at least a little bit fair to the community, the buyers, the founders, the kickstarters, and for NOT being labeled a dirty dev, this would ('ve) now at the VERY LEAST required to pull it from Steam and release the game and the souce code for free, so the community or anyone else can pick it up and improve upon it. Nothing more, nothing less. Further charging money for it in this state is maybe financially understandable, but morally just shady and very wrong.
they left the server UP so people could keep playing ( and they could charge for new sold copies) and they handed it off to the Community Mods to do whatever they want with it.
Valve should have adjust their steam early access terms of service to have a 3 years maximum term, Once that 3 year time period is up Valve will automatically remove the game off steams store page and put in a secure vault that will last 14 business days before Valve permanently deletes the vault and everything inside it, The developer and publisher of said game must come up with a good reason to continue to sell their unfinished game on steam as a fully released game at the price they are asking for.
only 3 years? even large studios take 5+ years on a game just to release, and for smaller studios, they would be dead before they could put it on early access
@@robertse4026 then they need to be closer to completion before it goes up for sale.
@@rwentfordable so if the scope of the game increases they shouldn't be able to sell their game? That's like saying I won't sell coke at my store because they keep releasing new versions. Star citizen gets guaranteed updates quarterly
Yes.
It's a shame really. I think this game had great potential. A lot of good ideas and mechanics already in the game. But, it was probably a mistake to try to make something with so much scope on Unity to begin with. Of course, one of my all time favorite games, was Subnautica, and the devs had a huge amount of work to get the game playable in Unity, but in the end they made something that I still love to this day.
Valve should just remove the early access function completely it's totally broken and 99% of early access games are scams or doomed from the beginning.
