Thanks for this opportunity to deep dive into my memories.. Many a times I got carried away from the past to the present 😂😂 Nonetheless, it's been one engaging podcast.. 🙏❤️
Salutes to the legend!! Just of his age approximately, I too drove Yezdi (MTX 458), 1974 make around the country, going Nagpur-Hyderabad- Bangalore then Jabalpur- Jhansi- Fatehpur Sikri and then Nagpur-Nasik in a single day in early 1990s. The Stealbird helmet used to be beyond 2kg, and roads were empty (yes, crossing trucks, etc, one had to be off the road to let the big vehicle cross by). For days and weeks, the family didn't use to know where and how we were!! STD calls were horrowingly costly😊. But our Yezdi, with remade engine in 1990, was a foolproof bike (the only bike which was having excellent convenience of interchangeable tyres, front and rear). We used to fix a stepney in place of engine / leg guard which used to serve the purpose of protection and also replacing any of the tyres in minutes. I read about this legendary rider in 1994 in newspapers. Though other compulsions stopped my riding sojourns post 1994 but I restarted the same, somwhat, since 2017 on Himalayan (but sold it by the end of 2022 due to dependability issues). I could never fell in love with any other bike so much after our Yezdi. The bike was so simple, hence dependable and convenient. I totally agree with him on one point : riding isn't related to age😀 (until the age you can carry / handle) it. I may not be able to drive more than 500-600 kms a day today but the charm of riding a bike is unmatchable with anything else. Our maxim used to be "when you drive a car, car becomes the frame but when you drive a bike, you become the frame" and "car carries the body but bike carries the soul"!😀 Waiting to restart my biking sojourn with either Triumph Scram 400x or Suitable RE 450 model. On the wrong side of 55, I need to be considerate about the weight of the bike (Yezdi's kerb weight used to be 154 kg only). Thanks a lot for uploading this podcaste with the legend. He is a persistent inspiration. 🙋♂️
Most of you know Deepak Kamath as a rider, but I know him as a kind-hearted man who is always willing to help. I paused this video 7 minutes after he said ask, and when I did ask him for a favour in 2008, he went above and beyond. My heartfelt thanks go out to you. Guess what, we've known each other for less than 15 days. His kind heart and great conversation skills make him a great human being. Thank you, Deepak!
Days in the 80s and 90s was so much fun. Miss them a lot. We didn't have much material belonging, except for books, comics, cassettes but there was so much friendship, love & happiness. Amazing experience of Sir.
Friendship.. Yes indeed.. I can honestly confess that I have more reliable and true friends from those days of my Adventure than from any of my recent ones 😂😂
Loved when Mr Kamath said: - "Know your road before you step in." Planning is the first and the foremost thing in any road trip. - 'Slow down in life'. One takeaway that is applicable in today's world. - "presume the other person is a good person until the person proves otherwise."
I do watch a lot of podcasts but I have rarely come across anyone who has so much passion and enthusiasm for biking as this gentleman. Thank you for this Bulu.
A truly remarkable and enlightening episode, a true delight for motorcycle enthusiasts. It's an incredible experience to gain insights into biking, passion, and challenges from a seasoned veteran of the community. In a time when some may claim a decade of riding experience after merely covering 50 kilometers a year, here's a man who possesses a wealth of motorcycle knowledge, finding joy and patience in traversing the globe across diverse terrains, landscapes, and cultures. This episode is a genuine gift to all bikers out there. A heartfelt appreciation to Bullu bhai for delivering such exceptional content. I've not only learned a great deal but also found immense motivation.
Thanks for your kind words!! I so wish people using various modes of travel try and indulge wholeheartedly in it and try and keep the phones aside.. If you must, take a picture or two and still continue to enjoy what you are at... Sharing stories and memories can always be done while back at the base... So many people are loosing lives and very few even understand quality travel.... Monetization on the social media platform has only accelerated the downside of genuine travel
Amazing journey… inspiring to see how Deepak has travelled. I’m glad I had worked along with Deepak in HSBC Bangalore. All the best to your future endeavours 😊🤘
I have a RE Himalayan (410cc). I use it few times a year to travel from Mumbai to Goa (my hometown) via the Pune-Kolhapur highway. And Believe me, the 100kph is a sweet spot for any big cc bike as the speed is safe to control the bike on indian roads. Also, you get to enjoy the rural green scenery (especially during monsoons) and mostly have fun riding the bike. 😊
@@TheLuxuryAlpha I have the 2021 BS6 variant. The bike has not given me any engine related issues yet. But the quality of materials used in some parts of the bike feels not upto the mark.
Deepak Kamath, the man who can easily put James Bond to shame, is a very motivative, charismatic and a strong Indian from a biking community. Got to know about him since a year, but can listen to him day and night.... How I wish I had infinite likes n love to him for this interview.. Thanks Buluji. Looking forward to the next podcast, hope it exists - will check your Playlist. One feedback from my side would be to not to interrupt someone's thought flow n pay attention to what the other person is saying. Probably you got all the years wrong even though Mr. Kamath clearly called out. Sorry for the nitpicking but you got the speaker on track couple of times. Overall a massive discussion with Mr. Deepak, what a being!!🙏🙏
I not even have a bike and I'll be 18 on coming December, for the past 2 years I started riding bikes been enthusiased to learn about bikes and the biking community I've Seen riders right from chapris to experienced proper riders like Deepak Sir in UA-cam,I learnt that riding is not all about Adrenaline, rushing through traffic doing stunts and all other hypey stuffs that the most of yt videos have shown.its about the peacefulness, our own safety, enjoying the things around us and keeping ourself calm I am at the age which speeding is loveable for me but after seeing such Riders i came to realise its our life which matters at the end of the day there should be some fun but fun is not the only thing matters Patience is the key thing we need to follow While Riding/driving Deepak Sir said a inspiring story of him, which made me think that our life should be explored around the world but also be commited to the things you need in to be.
This man is a library of experiences. Hats of to you Deepak Kamat sir❤❤. Hopefully one day even I will be able to travel allover India on my bike as its my dream. Also got to know your views on higher cc bikes which will not only be difficult to buy but also to maintain as well. Now I can comfortably go with meteor 350 as my mile muncher for atleast 5 years.
You just made my day. What a man Deepak sir is. A true LEGEND. I even sold my TRK 502 after being influenced by you as I was in a state of confusion as I was not comfortable with that on off road. Now I purchased BMW G310GS. And after riding HD, Benelly heavy superbikes, now I am very happy with such a small machine. As I am more confident now on any type of terrains, thanks again for your guidance. Even I call my new bike "BULU"

Hi , interesting video. Indeed I have an YEZDI D250, 1978 model, we were a group of 6 each one with an Yezdi , from 1986 to 1995 we toured entire Ktk, part of AP from Ballari . My Yezdi is from Mysore with Reg. No MEY 1037. Now settled at Hyderabad. In the year 2013 me and my son went to Bombay from Hyderabad via Pandharpur, Kolhapur, Solapur, Poona bypass to Bombay. So practical and confident! Glad that he highlighted super bike or performance bike craze in India suddenly, I have seen people buying them without any value or prior experience. Get the most expensive machine with the most expensive gears, but they don't know why!

Now communication is mostly through texting . I personally feel if, someone is really feel to talk then pick up the phone. I am from that era when picking up the phone and to talk with my far distance living cousins was not lessaer than any miracle .
Truely, we are blessed with good connectivity but unfortunately , we are living inside a sheel. amazing

So practical and confident! Glad that he highlighted super bike or performance bike craze in India suddenly, I have seen people buying them without any value or prior experience. Get the most expensive machine with the most expensive gears, but they don't know why!
