Yup, I believe Subaru figured out having all STI parts sold separately makes more money for them & aftermarket company’s in the long run as well as people getting to choose what parts they really want on there wrx can’t please everyone these days so sell most STI parts separately for more custom build since everyone mods to there own taste anyways…
Good video man. these are basically must have mods imo..to help the look of this new WRX. I like how you showed the bumper removal, because it appears to be nearly identical to the VA WRX bumper removal. I like that the did the light wiring right as well. I lucked out with my 2015 base WRX, by adding my own drl harness and fogs...being able to control what is always on and what I can turn on myself.....which was not the case for higher trim models. Having those bezel always on..is what you want. Being able to turn the fogs on/off when you want is another big plus. Subbed, and be looking for more videos on the new WRX!
So I just did this after watching your video a bunch of times. It took me a LOOOONNNG TIME. If I ever needed to do it again, it wouldn’t. Getting the old insert around the fog light off. The first one took me an hour. The second took me three minutes. I’m sure it was the same for you. My suggestion to anyone doing this is when removing the old bezel, pull the three clips(not 2) and then stand the bumper on its end so you can work on the BOTTOM (nearest the ground when installed) of the bezel. Get a skinny pry bar or trim tool and pry it out while depressing the claws from inside. Depressing the claws and pushing it out does not work.
The front looks so much more aggressive with the grill and fog light bezels, especially all that piano gloss black versus the plain old flat black plastic.
Thanks man just ordered a bunch of stuff on subimods. Same fog light trim with the foglight kit, sport grille with new colored emblems and some other cool things this video definitely has me ready to install THANKS 💪🏽
Hey Joey. Thanks for showing us the process. On the website link the surrounding area of the OEM drl bezel looks unpainted and textured, but yours looks like only textured & unpainted on the bottom strip. Do you know if the website pic is incorrect? I want them to look like yours. Thanks for the help!
Do you need to remove the bumper to install just the LED fog light Trim? I realize you need to remvove bumper to install the grille but what about just hte fog light trim?
Doin the Lord's work Joey! Thanks! I'm ordering the 23 when it's possible (was told end of the month by dealership) and it looks like we have the same idea; leave the features off then buy them wholesale and put them on ourselves.
when buying the part on Subaru's website is there a left and right part or do I order 2 of the same part you put in the description I have the base model wrx so i was wondering if I need to also add something else for the fog lights to work.
Good day Joey. Can you help me out? I see you have C Lights as part of your headlight system. I recently purchased a 2022 WRX premium trim. And my car has no c lights. Did you add them??
I am struggling to find that connector on the inside. Any tips or more photos? I see the pink sticky tape wrapped around a wire wad, and the foam wrapped (female?) plug to connect to, but I don't see the other part of the wire to connect to. It's a tight fit under there and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of play in the cables... so I've got to be missing something obvious. Any help appreciated. Cheers!
There should be a plug on your new led trim and that plugs into the new pink connector. It’s much easier if you remove the bumper. Only takes a few minutes to remove
That’s all done, no issues there. I mean inside the car, under the steering wheel. I can only find one end of the cable to connect, the foam wrapped plug… but not the other piece to connect to
@@shortfutures2530 inside the car there is just the one plug on the inside. You need to connect the fuse together if that’s what you’re talking about. Plug the wire into itself. Then plug it into the car

@@JoeyMontalto Yeah, the sanding is what makes me want to wait for other solutions too. I didn’t think of a body kit though, that may be best Thanks again for the videos!

The fog light isn't lined up like it is on the other side, so I know something else broke. I tried to find the assembly online but couldn't. Thanks

Hey Joe, quick question for you buddy? I called Subaru to try to order one of these kits and they’re telling me it was for the base only. Have you heard anything about this? I was going to order this for my limited and they won’t sell it to me because they say it’s for the base model only.
The dealer was incorrect. In the video description there should be a link with a part number. You can use that part number to order at the dealer or elsewhere
So if you have the light switch turned to “auto” are the headlight beams stll acting as a DRL ? or does the kit change that and just the bumper LEDs act as the DRL.
