Dopey is more calculating then we give him credit for. While everyone sees him offering a place for the ousted males, I also see him gaining numbers by support. On a social stance, I have a feeling he will be going very far within Skull Heads troop in the next couple years.

@@ariesvirgo4393 honestly, I’m curious to know why none of the younger, stronger males are not challenging Wilde, Silas, Ethan, and Edwin. Are the females protecting them? Has their tenure been as long as Skull Heads? Did they become part of the troop with him? It’s as though his legacy has formed beyond his troop with him no longer there. Surely the other troops know by now he is gone. It’s just remarkable to watch because his troop dynamics are far from the norm. It breaks so many barriers and it be interesting to see how it changes in the years to come. I really wish they could do a more in-depth historical review of his troop. His troop is something to be studied because it is vastly different from any troop documented.

Bossy's troop used to be moderately small in size, but now there seem to be a lot more of them. I've been watching since 2016 when Baty was a newborn and it just feels like the troop has doubled in size since then. I would really be curious to know approximately how many members there are now.

Kneely turned out to be such a good mom, in spite of how she was raised. Gypsy would never have carried her children in the ventral position at Kelly's age. She could barely tolerate caring for them as newborns.

I'm so glad the ousted boys from our gang are sticking together. I was really worried for Pucky & Dipsey. It's bittersweet seeing them grow up. I wish they could stay little forever.
The thing that makes me sad about the ousted batchlor bros is they don't seem to groom each other as well as their troop sisters. They are itchy & often scratching, trying to groom themselves. The loners are even worse. That seems like a cruel fate.

I LOVE seeing Dopey! I watched him go from nursing to the terrible tantrums of weaning, when he even tried out his brother's teat-like appendage (to Dopey everything just have looked like a teat at that time! It's the end of 2024 and I am so grateful that in a world of madness and change, AM still shows up and shares his extraordinary relationships with "Our Gang'. I also love seeing Hong Kong in its best glory. I lived on Mui Do from 1994-96, with a view of the tram and the mountain going up to the Peak. I loved the seasons, such as they were: monsoon season, which is when we moved there, when the hill outside our windows erupted in waterfalls, the sun-filled days and greenery of October and November, the colder days with lots of hawks and kites circled the mountain so majestically. Thank you AM, for the sweet potatoes in your backpack, never disappointing me, when I shouted at the screen 'NOW! There's no one around! Please slip that mother a sweet potato NOW!'. And without trumpeting it, I understood that he had indeed gotten the treat to the right person, at the right time. I often think about the disparados, boys and girls, who disappear into the mountains, and I wonder if they might have been kidnapped by a human. Does that happen?

Looks like Dipsy is officially ousted, which means Dinky is not far behind either. I’m sure Dopey’s status will help get them a foothold into Skull Head. I love seeing the bonds formed between all the bachelor boys. I wish we could follow them more often, but it’s a monumental task since they are usually sandwiched between troops.
I just wonder how big Dopey's group can get. I assume there are limits to how big a bachelor group can get especially when they are trying to get accepted in to another troop.
@@vg7735 some, including Dopey have been excepted in troops. I think they are just calling it "Dopey's boy band " . I could be wrong of course 😊
@@vg7735 from my research on bachelor troops they can reach in the 20’s. Highest I have seen documented. The more that come in from the outside, the higher risks of them challenging each other. What makes this bachelors troop extraordinary is that they mainly come from one troop. They already hang on the outer ranks of Skull Head. I’m curious as to how many have bred with the lower ranking females. Now the wait to see how healthy their offspring are. No questioning that Dopey is the alpha of this bachelor troop.
@@yvonneconte3040 AM called their troop, Dopey's former Boy Band, as Dopey is already accepted in SH troop. But they still hang around in the same vicinity, so Dopey has a great deal of influence in that Boy Band.
@@vg7735 Honestly it comes with it's upsides and downsides. Being part of a big bachelor troop means security and safety, they'll never have to worry about being cold at night or being alone. But I can see them being considered a threat if they become too big which would hurt their individual chances of joining a new troop. I can definitely see a lot of the boys who are in a big bachelor troop not wanting to leave just because of that.
I have always had a soft spot for Dipsy, he was such an extra cute baby. I hope he will be ok, along with all the other newly ousted boys. Hope Dopey helps him in some way.

I find it so fascinating that they are able to recognise who is who (and who is a friend and in the same troop) when there seemingly is chaos in those border disputes! 😬

I know this is an old video but I kept watching it because it’s so heartwarming. Mr. AM was right, the little runt (Our Dopey) is like a saviour to these newly ousted boys. Who would have think, the clumsy little Dopey will play a big part on the survival of these young boys! Dopey has always been smart and he will be a good leader someday! He sure has the most expressive eyes, like he is always thinking about something!

Mr AM, I love your videos, on both of your channels. Your videos are the only ones I watch concerning monkeys because you actually care about the well being of them. However, there is something that I’ve noticed for awhile. Your video “titles” are often misleading…at least to me. This one “It’s time to let go”. I was expecting something about a current situation where a monkey needed to move on. But I saw nothing like that. The monkeys - Bachelors - had already left their troops. I am still a fan, I just wish the title of the video would be a better description of what the video is actually about. JMHO
We can call the little girl Helen after Helen Keller. Helen Keller accomplished so much despite her disabilities. This little one thrives despite hers.
Oh and of course Dopey. The first monkey I fell in love with. The seccond being Essie and her stink eye. ❤️

AM, do you ever see the bachelors, by themselves, go back and visit their mom's? Or their mom's come out of their troop to visit their son's? Do they acknowledge one other in passing?
He filmed Dopey near Bossy's troop after leaving. Dimpy or Berty and Reddy were not far from him but they didn't acknowledge each other. I think he even chased off Berty. Knotty or Knitty or both visited and were grooming one of the siblings. Mums will not leave the troop for visits.
It's been videoed of some "aunts" grooming ousted males, ones they have babysat for in maternal troop. I believe they do recognize each other

Do troops ever merge? 3. You seem to closely follow Bossy’s troop (Our Gang) do the other VOs have a specific troop they follow? Do handicapped females get pregnant? Love your channel.

Question: is Niki always hanging onto Layla? I felt that's what happened when they jumped off the tree. Layla landed hard with the extra weight on her, and then limped away😮 I noticed in another video they were trting to go up that cement hill by the road, and Layla could barely climb with Niki on her back😢is that normal behaviour given Layla's royal status 🥺

They haven’t grown back and it has been years.
I doubt he gets his teeth back. A bad accident to his face occurred when he was very young. He was not six months old yet when it happened, I do not think. He was still very little.

Perhaps it's because we've seen Bossy's kids bullying lower ranking members of the troop. And, yes, they do get to stay too long. You can hardly blame them, though, for simply behaving in a way that's natural for them.
