The best tip ive ever heard for maxing is dont think about maxing until youre basically there. Meaning no matter what youre doing, youre gonna be working towards that goal regardless, so keep setting new skill goals ( base 80s, 90s etc) and playing whatever you want in game. Its better to play for a year straight ineffieciently than it is to play for 6 months effieciently and then burn out and not play for the other 6 months.
Definitely agree with your point about don't go so hard on a specific thing and burn out. I got too into that max efficiency mindset, and burnt myself out and hadnt played for over 2 years. Now, im just going to do what i feel like, but splitting up my goals by short term to long term
I maxed in 2021 after playing OSRS since the day it came out. Don't worry about always doing things "efficiently". It is a game after all, so play it in way that makes it fun for you. Maxing should be about the journey, not the destination.
I've only got Mining, Runecraft and Agility left. I was really dreading Mining but AFKing at stars has really made it one of my favorite skills to grind 99. I'm hoping for a similar feeling with RC. Dreading Agility but I know I'll get it.
In regard to Tip 9, I actually recently completely turned off the XP Tracker in Runelite and it feels so much better. I would find myself looking at it almost every minute when training a skill and being discouraged when I couldn't hit the rates some videos say (I honestly think people make some of this stuff up), like not being able to hit 50-60k slayer exp/h on smoke devils or something. Not having the XP Tracker to look at constantly has helped my mental so much these past few weeks.
What helped me towards my longest goal was resetting the starting line for my xp every time I reached 1% At first it was a slog but every stepping stone came quicker and quicker that it kept me motivated since it didn't feel like I was slowing down towards the end
The fact i have to play the game fore five years just to be able to finally play the game deeply unmotivating but here i am over 2 years into my journey still at it
I 100% agree with Nova here, my first thought days after I maxed was, that was 100% not needed, its not like having 10 more agility levels magically makes the game play differently. Play for fun!
Hey all, just going to clarify some things with the sheet. So when you get it, make sure you go File->Create Copy Also you will need to import a script that pulls the OSRS WIKI data for all the accurate pricing. which once authorized will add a little menu in the google sheet (just after help). Called OSRS prices. Once you run this it will update all items to their last 1 hour of pricing, so the sheet will be up to date. After this feel free to enter your name and hit the red button. The sheet does connect to another sheet for slayer, however I am working on a way for this to work more seamlessly, but you will need to do it manually for now. If anyone has suggestions feel free to leave them in the comments
I very much like the Any XP is good XP mantra, I’m dojng this with agi, if I did Sepulchre I’d burn out so fast but I can stomach Ardy while I watch TV I would add doing like 2hrs a week of a skill you don’t enjoy will often get you 99 before you max, this has worked for me with hunter for example
6:30 - especially since bonds are ~12m now, it makes no sense to use them to sustain membership unless youre like die hard raiding all the time and have huge bank. buy the 12 month package and if you cant afford that you probably shouldnt be playing osrs??

A trick that has helped me GREATLY in my maxing journey so far is this. Before you get off for the day pick a goal, gear for it and park yourself at the spot you need to be in for that goal. For example I want to train runecrafting right now for the diary cape, so when i got off last night, i geared up for zeah blood runecrafting and parked my ass at the essence mine, meaning when i get home, i have no excuse but to do atleast a little runecrafting. Tldr - pre gear for things you dont want to do before you log off, because then its a future you problem, and fuck that guy.
Im 2266 Total on my Ironman and what helps alot is to turn off xp drops and xp orbs they only show you how slow it is. if you turn it off you get imerged more into the grind and forget about time.
If maxing is your only goal you already lost, you need to play RuneScape and do what you want to do, and do some of the more boring stuff while you’re already watching movies or videos.. Also if you’re trying to max go for achievement diaries first, they give you an absolute ton of benefits and it will get you that much closer to maxing I’d like to add that you certainly CAN max by pushing yourself to train skills you don’t want to do straight to your max cape but if you do that you probably won’t want to play the game anymore after maxing
I have kinda a big issue with the spreadsheet. My main account started as an Ironman, and I de-ironed, but its pulling my ironman highscores and not my actual highscores.
Would be nice to see more prayer methods that do multi-skills including new Vardorvis prayer method as well as Shades of Morton. Also any chance for a tickbox to enable time to 200m all?
20m XP Shows up if your stats aren't high enough to be on the highscores, can you check your stats on the offical RS highscores and see if it shows up there? I can try look into it more if its not coming through correctly on the sheet
Is a huge portion of the community really paying for membership through bonds that it's worth making it a tip? I always thought the vast majority of people are paying for membership with cash.
the update button on the spreadsheet doesn’t work on mobile, anything you can do to make the high score lookup functionality of the spreadsheet work on the mobile app for sheets?
Unfortunately that's a dependency from Google I can't fix they don't allowed scripts to be run from buttons from there. You could potentially try to run the script from the actual scripts page however I'm less familiar with that on mobile unfortunately

the only slow skill i have under 90 is 86 rc. the example you used was like base 80's with 70's sprinkled in. no way base 80 to base 90 is only a 100 hour difference. im just gonna stick with wom and my 380 hours till max

Every hour you spend training now is an hour you don't have to spend training in the future. If you don't train, you 'lost' xp. Also with sailing coming out eventually, that's another 13m XP that you're going to 'lose' because you're starting at level 1... Just saying that breaks are fine, yes. But don't expect the game to stay the same if you take a long hiatus.
The secret to maxing is to just like skilling. I think it's unfortunate that skilling is seen as something you have to "get through" to get a max cape. I feel like most people with that mindset would be a lot happier just pvming with base 70s.
Maintaining membership via bonds is the biggest noob trap ever, especially now with how ridiculously expensive they are. Theres no reason not to shell out the 12 bucks, if you can't afford that I feel there are other things you should be prioritizing rather than RuneScape.
I agree, I think once you've got an established bank and can make lots of money bonds are no issue, but for mid game players bonds are far more crippling that people realise.
insane im always seeing folks in f2p begging for bonds saying their young etc, i laugh because i know these folks have the real life money to get p2p. Its 13 bucks a month and if you buy 1 year its like 80 bucks. I bet they have clothes and cell phones etc. They end hurting themsleves in the long run staying on f2p, or tryign to afford bonds. These folks if their young can get a summer job/winter seasonal job, or mow a neighbors lawn etc .
I'm maxing with bot a lil' bit everyday and manual playing time to time when i feel to do something. Got a job, doing gym , don't got time to 3000 hours grind. Will move on Brighter Shores when it release so it's nevermind.
I can't make money irl atm but I play and pay in bonds and it sucks ngl it's demotivated me from wanting to play lately but osrs is the only game I have and can even play

basically just set a goal to get certian amoutn exp a day /week and go on there from there.
Maxxed 3 skills in 9 months and got super burnt out

yup bonds only made sence years ago, when bounds where like 1.5mil now at 12 mill you might as well buy 1 year of osrs.

There is a 200m All option at the top of the front page if you change the goal from all 99's

My stats from the Stats page dont get updated to the Main page. Some Skills (herb,fisching,cooking and wc) get tracked with 20m exp
