  • Just fishing the one of my favorite spots when I get a decent tug on the line. thats when I remembered thats the baitfish not the shrimp, and it's the whole thing. This guy gave me a pretty decent fight taking some drag and challenging my gear and myself a little bit. Please enjoy watching my latest video and please be on the look out for more as I try to get out on the water more.

    TNT(Tackle N Tactics)- I've noticed that at smaller more inland fishing locations like these the fish tend to be touch and go. Theres usually a hot time that may very and usually has something to do with a peak around high tide. This usually fades relatively quickly only lasting anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes, however there are sometimes a few stragglers that may wonder through.

    RodNReel- The rod I caught this guy on was a relatively cheap but effective rod a Okuma Tundra which seams to be pretty effective against larger fish but without breaking your bank. costing around $70 ish.

    I was just looking at this r & r set up at Modells tonight, it was $39.95, I'm thinking about it but I haven't been fishing in years. They didn't have much variety other than one other one, but I'll have to keep searching.

      Dora Levitt first off I greatly appreciate the support and you commenting!!!! It means the world to me when I can help people get back into fishing. But down to business if your pursuing saltwater it’s a good combo for starters but if you have the extra cash a very wise choice is to purchase a pen battalion it should cost around 120-140 for the combo. Penn is a very well known company for quality saltwater gear.

      Average Guy On a Bike- its the Okuma Tundra, I bought it for around $70 before taxes and the rod has caught me some decent sized fish and the drag was quiet nice for a rod and reel combo at this price point. I would recommend it if your starting out, good bang for your buck. thanks for your comment its greatly appreciated good luck out on the water. FISH NOW.... WORRY LATER

    How is your Okuma Tundra holding up now? I'm going to dauphin Island this summer and I'm looking for a good surf rod on a budget.

      Jonathon Richards sorry for the delay I work a lot and must have missed your comment. I use that rod so much the reel is broken now and the rod has needed a lot of repair. Honestly the best combo I currently own for cheap is the penn battle 2 great for the price of like 140

    Thinking about buying the 8 foot Tundra. How is the casting and durability of these rods? Would I get good distance

      Burning Grey I have had mine for a few years now and I will say this I no longer have the reel that is shot. I have had to replace a few guides but for the price that’s not too bad. However I would highly suggest if you have the funds to get the pen battle 2.

      Burning Grey I imagine it should as long as your target is mostly redfish and trout smaller species.

      I think on this one I had 50 or 65 pound braid but it depends on the model you have if it’s a smaller model I would probably go down to like 20 or 30 pound. Thanks for the comments!!!

    WHAT IS THE REEL YOU USED

    • @lethallure6260
      @lethallure6260  5 років тому

      Racing Pigeons first off I appreciate the comment it means a lot. Secondly the rod and reel is the okuma tundra surf spinning rod combo tu-1002-80. The rod is great for the price but I will say this I’m no longer using the reel the reel is broken, the anti back reeling is broke so you don’t know if your reeling in or out the line. My favorite surf rod as of right now my preferred rod/ reel of choice is the penn battle 2. It’s not let me down and I’ve caught big reds and rays on it.

      @@lethallure6260 I ORDERED THE 12 FOOT ROD ONLY, NOT THE REEL, I NEED TO FIND AN AFFORDABLE REEL, THANK YOU I WILL CONSIDER THE ONE YOU RECCOMENDED. THX, YOU GOT A SUB

    • @lethallure6260
      @lethallure6260  5 років тому

      Racing Pigeons I really appreciate the sub, it means a lot to me. I absolutely love it when I get asked questions and people pick my brain because I like to pick other peoples brains about fishing to learn more and get the best equipment possible. That 12 foot rod should do just fine I’ve had mine for a few years. As far as reels I haven’t had a problem with my penn reels at all. I own like 3 or 4 penn battle two. Tight lines good luck this weekend.
