It’s interesting because I had the exactly the opposite situation. Rothys made my feet sweat and they were stinky within two days of wearing. I know I can wash them, but who wants to wash their shoes every time you wear them? I wear tieks all of the time, I don’t find them hot, they don’t smell, and I find them super comfortable.
I am surprised about the inner stitching coming out of your tieks so quickly. I did have that happen in a pair that was two years old and worn almost daily. But none of my newer ones have had that happened. I would have called tieks because for the price you pay for them, they shouldn’t have that flaw!
It just shows what works for one person, might not work for another. Thank you for sharing!

Great idea for a video!! I don't have either YET but I think I will take the splurge at some point...! The washability factor is huge.
That one factor did it for me. As a wedding photographer I have to be able to wash my shoes as we are in them all day. Thanks for watching
Great review to the point. I bought my first pair of Rothy's and I love it. I was wanting to buy another pair of shoes and wanted to give Tieks a try but after watching your review I think I will stick to Rothy's. I have pointed Mink and I love the fact that I can chase my little guy around with while wearing them.

I'm really surprised you had that stitching problem in the Tieks. I've got nine pairs and even my oldest seven year old very worn still have the stitching intact. I've seen that complaint a few times in some of the Tieks groups, but amazed that you happened to get TWO pairs with the same flaw. You might already know that the stitching is only decorative and you could either cut out entirely the loose thread or even try to glue it back in.

The Tieks are lovely, but leather shoes are tough in summer (as you note) and ruined in the rain. In fact, for summer, my Rothy's are my totally go to "chance of thunderstorm" shoe. If you get caught in the rain, stuff some paper towels in them if you are able and they will dry out pretty quick, but I've worn mine soaking wet all afternoon and no blisters. Totally sold. Eying third pair. Have pointy feet so The Point works for me, but eying The Flat, too.
Christi that is so true. They are my go to shoe pretty much all of the time. I would really encourage the round toe or loafer as well. The loafer has a little more padding and is a dream to walk on. After a wedding or during the reception these help me so much. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hey Meredith. With the fact that tieks don't breathe well at all, did you find working in these in a warm climate made your feet smelly?
Not really. There ability to breathe really helped with any smell

we do not own any of those flats but have heard of them.
I was thinking about purchasing a pair of tieks but I don’t think I will now. I can’t believe how dark the insoles get!!! Is that from sweat or natural use?
I would say both. I wore them everywhere but they did get dark rather quickly.
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography it's a shame because the tieks are really pretty and i personally perfer the look of them to rothys but clearly they have their cons. Does the tieks material retain odor? For their price they shouldn't give you stinky feet too easily! 😊
Lilly Ann @Meredith Ryncarz I think it’s both too. Leather starts to patina after a while so that’ll happen no matter what, but they are not that breathable! However form experience they do cause your feet to stink too when you take them off, even though they cost quite a lot of money and are meant to be good quality 😏 Meredith would you agree?
@@Laura-ec4xy I would agree with that. I like to wear my Tieks in the winter especially because they don't breathe and they keep my feet warm. What I don't like is that they make my feet sweat like crazy.

Rothy's do. The Tieks have almost none.
I want to buy the leopard point. I'm a size 10. Do I go.up to a 10.5 or 11? My feet are not wide.
I would do a 10.5. I am a size 10 and don't have wide feet

You can call customer service and have 2 different sizes sent to you to try . Just don’t wear them outside
