Before you mentioned the solve, I was going to comment the same about KQ. Check non-club hands on the turn very often.... Protects your checking range and guards against losing too much against flushes.
Hey Pav just wanting to comment that I appreciate all the content you put out! Just recently cashed in a small tournament, but I learn mostly from watching content, and studying of course. Wasn’t life changing money for a lot of people but it’s a nice amount for me. Thanks for giving us inspiration!
Cracking content. It must be hard for the old boys to get their heads around the game now these youngsters play so tight/small ball. The drunken rant exemplified this perfectly!
Its embarrassing how tight some of these nits play. Old, young, I don’t care. Professional poker players should have more gamble in them. Otherwise its just bs for a rec to even want to play. Hes gonna give action and basically get nut peddled? Its shameful.
What a premium content, Pav, thanks! I might play the JTs different on the turn. I probably continue with the passive line, and on the river x/shove if the monster draw complete (if not, x/pass). But your play is probably better.
Great video! I got a question, if you don't mind answering: At 4:58, you have a table change, but your stack goes from 117.2k to 47k. Were there a few hands that that you didn't show that got you down to 47k, or did WSOP force you to keep those chips in reserve for another table change?
i believe the table change was a few orbits after the JTcc hand. i dont believe there was a significant pot lost, just many small to medium ones. its tough putting it all into a vlog
on a friendly tone.. before the table change you had more than 100k and then you shows us the hand with AQs when you have 50k.. i think it would be much enlightening and informing to show us how you got back to 50k . hands you lost and choices you made even if they do not pay off but have something to teach are equally meaningful as any big flip or a hand you won by bluff check raising.
i agree. nothing i was trying to deliberately leave out. i think it was a lot of small to medium sized pots that i didnt write down in my phone. its impossible to edit without all notes, especially when theres literally over 100 vids of hands from my go pro. ill be better prepared for next time
4:05 do you know how hard that is to sit completely still for a minute +? I don't even know if he blinked... i mean he looked over at first but didn't move a millimeter.
I don't know about other people, but for me $10,000 is a LOT to invest in for a single tournament buy-in, so I could not fathom drinking during it, let alone drinking enough to become intoxicated. You cannot win a major poker tournament drunk unless you are Scotty Nguyen. XD Also, 9:33 digging for gold.
Jesus what a brutal way to finish. Absolutely have him crushed and he hits his two outer. I feel for you. Guy gets it in terribly and gets rewarded for it.
9 at the start I'd bet 2BB OTR, people usually call because of "curiosity". If it comes to the hand with KQ I believe you can easily get 3 streets from this field even betting large OTR looking like an Ac missed draw. I know it's not according to the solver, but it's a "Street live WSOP poker", people won't call/fold as solver does!
The hand with the Ace King of clubs...I see too many people call with this hand vs 4 bet shoves and it doesn't end well. It's still early in the tournament, and even IF you have him dominated (which you did here), he could still suck out and take 1/2 your stack. It sucks
love the content pavvy! whenever you get them out we will watch mate! any intention to play any other live events this year: getting some massive fields in adelaide and Aus in general right now
I know you wanted to grow your YT channel this year to 100k. I've seen a lot of YTers grow there channel super fast during the WSOP. Not sure if you played a lot of events or just the main. I would suggest next year playing a lot of events and hiring an editor to put out videos quickly. Once the main is over i think intrest in the wsop is not as high
100k was a stupid goal when theres so much on my plate. if all i did was spend my time on yt, its very attainable. but streaming on twitch, making training videos, being a gd partner and dad take up a lot of my time. i agree with the rest tho
This is why I hate poker and love it... losing to 8, 5 offsuit and having A, K suited preflop... wow! I make people pay to chase their flushes and straights too after the flop comes out. I don't check into the turn allowing them a free card. Always make em pay!
The biggest issue with this years WSOP is the payouts. How does 9th place in a tournament with over 5000 people (2005) pay more than 9th place in a tournament with over 10000 people? Theyre basically making it so 'just making the money' is alot easier and more valuable to shoot for, where playing for deep runs isn't as rewarding. Like at a certain point, youre better off folding 98% of your hands and basically never playing and getting blinded off, than actually trying to play poker to make the final table. Like say you have a solid stack, you can play super tight and slow and have a 50% chance to improve from $100k to $200k, or you can make some moves and actually play poker, and have a 5% chance to move from $100k to $300k and less than a 0.5% chance to get to a million. It doesn't make sense to do that, the ratio of earnings gained to earnings lost is so terrible.... the only guys who should actually be playing poker by that point are the ones who are rich enough that the money DOES NOT MATTER. And they purely want to be world champion. For everyone else, be a tightass, and maximize your earnings in the main event!
With the 10/J of clubs you have a gutter to a straight flush draw. For some reason, the one thing poker youtubers seemingly forget to mention alot is straight flush draws and I'll never understand it haha. They always do what you did, mention the straight draw, mention the flush draw, forget you have a straight flush draw. And what makes it even more confusing is, you're doing the voice over for this of course after the fact. So you're literally looking at the video and somehow miss the obvious straight flush draw.
@@ALLinPav But a flush and straight aren’t as strong as a straight flush. If he catches a full house, your straight or flush loses, a straight flush doesn’t. Next time just pay attention.

@@ALLinPav Most definitely. To be 1500 + entries over the previous record and only increase the top prize by 100k was not a good payout method. But I guess this gave them the opportunity to payout more people, which is also good, but I still think they should have gave 1st place at least 13mil and the final 9 all be millionaires.
Unfortunately, even though you’re playing in a $10,000 Buy-In Main Event, the tables are full of $1-$2 No Limit cash game players that either won their seat in a $100 (or $1) online tournament, and still play as bad they do in the low stakes. Wall to wall donkeys, who sucout, and knock out more experienced players. Of course, you never see these donkeys at the end of this tournament, but the damage has already been done.
