If its banana split i would put chocolate and strawberries on it to and top it with nuts, and your looks delicious thanks for sharing take care love and best dishes Paula and Eddie and Theresa 🎂🍦🍧
My Mama made this when I was little, she made it with the raw eggs. After years passed she didn’t make it anymore because of the raw eggs. I was so excited to see you make this just the same way but with the pasteurized eggs! Now, I can make this ❤❤❤
I’ve made this recipe about 20 years ago for a family reunion and the pan was licked clean , the only thing I did differently , I added sliced strawberries with the other fruit and then on the whipped topping I drizzled with chocolate syrup and it really brought the flavors of the banana split together ❤from TX
Thank YOU for sharing. Flour and pecans and sugar and butter is one of the best crusts I've had with this desert. Ive never done graham cracker again!! Oh my flavor
@@dotsheleheda410 google grannys holy smoke cake. Thats where I got crust recipe. The HOLY smoke cake is better than anything I've ever had. Easy. Granny and her daughter gives you step by step
This is a golden oldie. I used to make this every year for 4th of July or labor day. It's so yummy. ❤❤❤ I think I added chopped pecans with the cherries on top.
Paula, love all your recipes. Do you think you could do some recipes for those who are dealing with diabetes or cooking for them? You look awesome. Be blessed Ms Paula.
I've made this recipe for many years, and yes, I've added several different ingredients over the years. Walnuts; pecans; peanuts; sliced strawberries; halved dark cherries; halved maraschino cherries; thin sliced fresh peaches without the skin and also fresh plums without the skin. Just depends on who I'm making it for, as to what ingredients to include or exclude. One other thing that I do is put half of the "batter" on top of the baked graham cracker crust, then add half of the crushed pineapple, half of the bananas, walnuts or pecans, and a sprinkling of either strawberries, cherries or peaches. Cover that with the remaining "batter" and then top with the remaining fruits. (Sort of like a lasagna - and it looks sooooo pretty in a glass baking dish or tall glass "seven layer" dish.) Then, add a dollop of fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of melted milk or dark chocolate and/or caramel just before serving. Every time I make this recipe, I have at least two people ask for the recipe. It's definitely a winner!! Thank you Paula!!
Hi Paula ;) I make banana split cake this way, 2 sheet cakes, I cut them both in half, ( 4 sheet slices). Bottom of pan place one sheet slice, next, I add prepare 2 boxes vanilla instant pudding Spread pudding on bottom layer of cake, slice 4 bananas and place on top of pudding, Add next slice of cake, now mash up 2pints strawberries with small bit of sugar (to taste) spread atop cake layer, Next place third sheet slice on top of strawberries, next I take 2 cans drained well crushed pineapple and spread on cake layer, Now add your last sheet cake layer, spread top with good amount of home made whipped cream or cool whip , Top off with maraschino cherries. ( nuts optional) You will be a big hit at next cookout / party! Enjoy!!!!!!
Just learned of this recipe at a church get together yesterday, where this was served. It looks scrumptious, and I agree that real whipped cream is much better than that "whipped topping".
Omg Paula!!! We make a banana split cake for my dad for his birthday every year!! It's his favorite!! His birthday is on the 29th!! We were just talking about how we need to go get a pie crust last night!! ✌️😂💓 He'll be 62 this Saturday!! Wow how did you know?? Perfect timing girlfriend!!
My mom Probably made this when i was a kid but this is the first time seeing thus and i love bananas and ice cream bananas 🍌 split. I will have to try that out soon like i said I like bananas In the beginning it reminds me of cheese cake the butter and the cooking i don't remember my brother and I doing.
Miss Paula you don't sound yourself like so many others. God bless you ma'am. May I recommend The Wellness Company? You are so beautiful and friends with my Dad's people, please take care. ❤
Where's the strawberries, the chocolate syrup, the pecans and a little toasted coconut??? Then, it would have been a banana split cake. Make more filling, put in 3 layers. 1st layer: 1/3 filling, pineapple and a little drizzle of chocolate syrup and chopped nuts...2nd layer: bananas and chocolate syrup, chopped nuts 3rd layer strawberries and chocolate syrup, chopped nuts. On top put whipped cream or cool whip with a few cherries and toasted coconut.
🌴 Hi Paula, all your recipes are so good but like so many of us I’m fighting the battle of the bulge, and have been on the keto diet trying to shed pounds , by the way I’ve gotta say you are look’n good gal ! 😊 any tips ?
I probably should know, but could someone tell me what a pasteurized egg is? I'm lost on that one, and I would love to make this for our class reunion this coming weekend. Thanks for any help, have an awesome week and God bless!
4 Cups of crushed Graham crackers 1-1/2 stick melted butter 2-tbsp sugar Mix together, put into bottom and up sides of a 9”x12” pan and bake for 8 -12 minutes @350• 20 oz crushed drained pineapple 2-Large Eggs 2-sticks softened butter 16 oz - 10X Sugar Spread over crust put pineapple on top then layer sliced bananas Then whip 2-cups whipped cream and 1/2 Cup 10X Sugar, spread over top, chill after 10 minutes, then I put drained maraschino cherries an chopped pecans on top!!!!! Chill overnight. Enjoy
I liked the camerawork in this video! Interesting concept, not sure about the execution. Bummer the crust she ultimately had was crumbly. I do like a nice solid thick graham cracker crust like she talked about from the start. For the life of me I can’t fathom what the raw egg/“confectionate” sugar/butter combo tastes like. I think I’d rather have something more classic cake-like (baked) or even a pudding or cheesecake type base? Was hoping this was more a literal spin on a typical banana split-which would have, yes, bananas and pineapple-but chocolate, strawberries, and nuts in some form too! Problem with the fresh whipped cream is it will liquefy soon enough unfortunately as we all know…
Yes, the crust was bad, whipped cream as always not whipped enough, and yucky raw eggs. Compare this video finished product photo versus the photo from her website of this same dessert...night and day difference.
You do not have to bake the crust first. Firmly press your graham cracker and melted butter into your dish and let it sit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. The butter will solidify and hold the crust together. This is how I do mine and the finished product is beautiful.
@@tennesseeiris701 well I was commenting about what Paula demonstrated on this video. Her finished product was sub par at best. Again look at her photo of a a slice of this exact recipe on her website. Google it. It looked beautiful. I guess it was the food stylist that took that photo. If I wanted to make this dessert I would google and find another recipe by another cook.
I'm in awe of your culinary talent! 🤩 This banana split cake recipe highlights your creativity and expertise in the kitchen. Well done!👍 Hope u would like to visit my new recipe too..👍🙏
Would y'all add any other toppings to make this Banana Split Cake your own?
I might try to figure out a way to use cream cheese and leave out the eggs!

Yes! Include in some form chocolate, strawberries, and (your beloved) nuts, like the classic banana split.

I would substitute the eggs with heavy cream.
I probably should know, but could someone tell me what a pasteurized egg is? I'm lost on that one, and I would love to make this for our class reunion this coming weekend. Thanks for any help, have an awesome week and God bless!
Like pasteurized milk, the eggs go through a heating process that kills salmonella, thereby apparently making it safe to eat and use raw.
Good morning everyone!

I put a tiny bit of cinnamon in my crust
I add 1 packet unflavored Knox gelatin to the graham cracker crust to help with crumbling.
Buy a toaster oven Paula

Because you CAN 🙄
