Really curious to see how well this stacks up to the latest Zenbook 14 Flip OLED, it's the same sort of laptop but with a really lovely looking OLED, a USB 3 port, headphone jack, HMDI out, a fully compatible stylus out of the box, and a processor that's on par with the Dell's, and a price of $1300. I'm sure it's lacking in other aspects to make up for the price difference (like no 32GB option as far as I can tell), but for this sort of device it feels incredibly solid. Would love to see more reviews on it, and comparisons to other similar types of machines like this Dell Latitude.

Hadn't heard about the Zenbook Flip line, but it looks great! Finally something I'd be able to comfortably upgrade to if I felt the need. Just needs a built in stylus garage and all my prayers would be answered. Lenovo used to have 2 in 1s nailed for me but they've really dropped the ball, glad Asus is picking it up.

I thought about picking this one up, but that price is too high for a U series processor. I wish more companies would make a 2 in 1 with an H series processor. This one is designed for someone who walks around with a laptop regularly. The main adavantage of the U processor is the battery life, but it doesn't do so well in that respect either. Still a cool laptop.
One thing I don't see being muich considered with laptops with a tactile screen : the polling rate. I'm one of the few osu! tablet players, and the polling rate definitely is a decisive criteria I just can't find anywhere when buying such a laptop. My previous one was an Acer Aspire R13 (the one with the Ezel hinge), and when I switched to an XPS 9310 2 in 1, I was shocked at how the touch screen was 'less' usable. The Acer felt like a regular smartphone, while the XPS is just good for stylus use at best.
For people planning on buying, here are some caveats I encountered - 1. It is quite heavy though it is very rigid 2. Touchpad is simply horrible. Will register a click when you're just moving your mouse around which gets annoying. If you want to click and drag something by holding down the left click, it will unclick it midway when you move your finger. This doesn't change by changing the touch sensitivity 3. Keyboard: Hard to get used to due to lack of space between keys and keys themselves are sort of mushy. Not horrible but at around $2-2.5k, you'd expect better Maybe just the unit I tried but again - at that price, your quality control needs to be good. I think most people will be able to find better alternatives!
I've just got this notebook for my work purpose, as its only equipped with USB-C ports, to get around with a mouse, you can however opt for a bluetooth one instead, so you will not have any dongles dangling around. All in all, a great notebook to own, especially the latitude line from dell are the only lines they have with a new design and specs. If you are planning to go for gaming, the XPS and or the alienware options by them them will be a more suitable choice. As for the power supply, nowadays most companies are equipped with a secondary monitor that are USB C power delivery and display out capabilities that can be directly plug into any one of the USB C on the 9440 and have it charged, not even needing for a power brick (unless of course if you are not in this situation)
Alex needs some new perspective... hes not only too happy with Dell products but sadly becoming a fanboy... Alex needs to spend some time on Mac Address channel! :P
I'll never understand why they rarely show the zenbook line by asus. You'd get a 90hz oled display, similar specs otherwise for around 500 dollars or less. It's wild to me.
I'll never understand why even ASUS doesnt seem to care about the Zenbook 14 ryzen lineup. How hard is it to just give us Zen 3+/4 APUs instead of outdated Zen 3? Currently imo the Zenbook 14 is the best 'laptop' laptop: fast enough RAM, modular WiFi & storage, huge 75Wh battery, and a great OLED panel. Even with Zen 3, it's leagues ahead of other laptops that were spec'd out by 7 year olds
@ZhongXina2142 I agree, it is a very fair criticism that they use more outdated processors in the standard zenbook 14. But it's still a lot of value for the price relative to most laptops. Thanks for sharing.
ayyyy they brought back the old keyboard from the haswel (4th gen intel) latitudes. Very awesome. The keyboards on those machines are my favorite ever, so it's nice to see them return. Too bad there's no trackpoint on this machine.
Never understood the appeal of these ultra tiny laptops. I always carry them in a bagback or messenger bag. The difference won't be noticeable once they are in a bag. 😅
the video recorded using non studio microphones and that audio frequency range still conveyed with the latitude. i can feel the bass. by the way, i think gaming laptop should all comes in 16:10 screen ratio. because the verticality space is what gaming needed. i dont think many people even notice that. all this time people use multi monitor with view range only widen to the side, they are actually having semi tunnel vision. you know like seeing through a long rectangular hole where you dont get fair enough vertical span, while our pair of eye balls have big vertical view angle range.
I have one of these as a work laptop, lovely design. But they have an enterprise edition of windows 11 which is absolutely rubbish and makes a Chromebook a more attractive option
Latitude was always the value line. That explains the bulky accessories etc.. It is not supposed to be premium. But compared to the past it is very impresive.

I really like this laptop overall. At that price they seem to be competing with other business laptops very well, yet the price also pulls them into comparison with something like the Macbook Pro 14 (M1 or M2). The Mac is more of a creative machine but can manage business software and much more quite well, so even if you up the RAM and SSD (from the base $1999 price) you are looking at a similar price and the Macbook Pro 14 just kills this thing in efficiency, battery life, cooling and power draw, and it compares well in speed and in some cases would be faster. However, most PC laptops users will see the Mac as a creative arts machine and mostly look at other Windows business laptops. In that sense this Dell is really good, but 7.5 hours of battery life is rough. Between the 3 he showed here I would go with the Dragon Fly. I also agree with others that I would rather have an AMD version. For larger businesses the cost will not be a big issue, but for smaller businesses and others the cost here will be an issue.
Yeah a Macbook Pro 14 M1 can be had here in Europe for about 1950 euro, M2 Pro for 300-400 more, the 9440 starts at 2800€😮 (all incl VAT). Arguably a better screen, speakers and battery life. Equally good performance and keyboard. Better trackpad, but no touch. Never thought I would say a Mac would be a better value (or at least, fair), not even considering residual values.
I got a Dell latitude E6420 in 2012 at launch.. I only retired it December 2021 for an M1 MacBook Air. It was plagued by the heat pipe/fan combo. Fan fried itself two years in and replacements only had a single copper tube so that core i7 always overheated. By the end.. it was time for a new heat pipe and taking it apart. Nope.. Went to Best Buy and got a base Air (I love it and use constantly still) and sold the E6420 to some mechanic dude for $40 haha. I had upgraded it to a Samsung 256 SSD and had a Tp-Link wifi dongle and Dell laser mouse and case with it. so he definitely got a good deal even though he was gonna have to invest some time and an additional $50 or so into it. I still can't believe how long it lasted.. for a year it was how me and my girlfriend watched Netflix in our first place, so I held it dear lol. Got me through some good and bad times.. The screen and speakers were awful though, downright terrible in fact. I never got over that.

I was looking to replace my old Precision 15 with a new device and I would have loved a 14" (which is my sweet spot), but the 14"s come with hardwired memory - which is a no buy for me - and there's no reason for this: the Precision 15" is the same height. Keyboard: I *HATE* the "chicklet" Apple-style keyboard with huge gaps between the keys and most PC manufacturers have been going in that direction for worse than 10 years. I would love to see more laptops moving away from this. Screen: I love that Dell is going back to 16-10 (such like good keyboards, ThinkPad pioneered, then abandoned).
You keep saying it great for 13", but it is a 14" laptop. You compared weight to the XPS 13 as if it was something comparable, but this is a 14" vs a 13". You said the resolution is great for a 13"... but it is a 14".

I won't buy a laptop made after 2015... They've only been getting shittier since then. They break sooner, have devastatingly crippled IO, have FAR TOO MUCH soldered on, have the most consistent thermal issues I've ever seen, and anything made for windows 10 or 11 that just won't be compatible with an older windows OS is automatically suspicious and gets destroyed...
My job requires IO ports alot and i love my dongles now hahaha
I hope all this stuff moves into the XPS line. I'm on the verge of updating my hardware and the way things are now I'd go with a Lenovo, not a Dell again... but those new features - Haptic Touchpad yes please, better WiFi, better Speakers, better Webcam, finally a 1440p option - would be everything I've been wanting
the amount of 9440 with apple earpods connected to the 3.5mm jack at work is unreal
The obvious shot of peeling the plastic off. At least you took the time to check for it this time
I expect nothing less from dells 9000s business class laptops. At my job we deploy dell's latitude 7000s. They are amazing, great management, quick repair part requisition, and they hold up to abuse from all departments. You really pay for what you get with business class in general
As a developer, I've just stopped looking at battery life altogether, the tools and all will basically always push the machine to it's limits anyway and once battery save kicks in (or it even clocks down on battery) everything gets unusable anyways, so there's no point to ever use it not plugged in for long.
Craig, really enjoy the channel. I’ve really been enjoying the videos that you have been creating lately. Keep up the good work. Watching from St. John’s Newfoundland on the far east coast of Canada.
The resolution doesn't matter at all, if all you see in your display is yourself...
A glare display is a compromise on a heavy duty laptop i made once and never, ever again. It was a good deal and i thought " comeone, it can't be that bad, lots of people use these.
It was, it is and ever will be.
my dad does use Dell Latitude 7430 with an i7 1265U that always hit 100c. So i've helped him replace the thermal paste with Cooler Master Cryofuze dropped temps below 80c most of the time. As i noticed Dell's thermal paste is already dried up within 3 months of usage. After repasting it is running wonderful. But I would replace with PTM7950 next time i repaste. Which I am using for my ASUS Zephyrus G14 2021 3060 varrient.
I wonder how well the battery will hold up. I have a Dell XPS 13 (9301) 2 in 1. I've been greatly disappointed with the battery life. My old xps 13 lasted twice as long as my current one
Battery life is terrible, dont expect to go anywhere without the charger for an hour
I have the XPS 13 plus (9320) and find it a brilliant machine and does all I need.
Love the fact that it turn on as soon as you open it up.
I hate laptops turning on when opening them
@@harshlarose6670 why it so much easier you just pull up the screen and it then boots up saves you having to fumble for the on button
After all the main reason you pulled the screen up is because your going to use the laptop after all
@@harshlarose6670 Turn it off......... tf......
@@Lockdown335 Well I did for that exact reason.
@@CricketEngland moreso just battery drain issues and it may accidentally turn on if you're carrying some magnet, and also sometimes you open the laptop just to clean it.
@shortcircuit What's up with the audio on this video? seems like alot of background noise? all other videos are playing fine except this one.
That zero lattice keyboard is so nice! I'm glad Dell is keeping the design language from the XPS Plus.
I hope so, because the last keyboard on the XPS lineup had everyone raving... but broke for me within two weeks on two separate devices
1:37 "Does this have a full 360° hinge?" ... *"It does now!"*
Zenbook 14 Flip OLED Would be less than half the price of this overpriced "thing"
I'm slightly mad my 13 flip gave me a type c dongle instead of a headphone jack
Hadn't heard about the Zenbook Flip line, but it looks great! Finally something I'd be able to comfortably upgrade to if I felt the need. Just needs a built in stylus garage and all my prayers would be answered. Lenovo used to have 2 in 1s nailed for me but they've really dropped the ball, glad Asus is picking it up.
can't wait for these hybrid laptop/tablet devices to die out and be a thing of the past.
Holy shit I was going to wait to upgrade my 2021 envy 360x 15 inch to the spectre but dell seem to have noticed how much they weren't competing in this segment and decided to get involved? Very very cool! I still think I'm going to wait for the amd phoenix apus but this is very welcome! Great work, guys and gals at dell
Thanks for including our shoutout at the end of the video! I finally made it into an LMG video!
Here's our POV of the shot: ua-cam.com/video/fKspri4wOgU/v-deo.htmlsi=ec76-Nz4jNk6zOht&t=211
I have my work laptop given by company as Dell Latitude 9430 & love it. Stylus & touch is amazing with display. Has one type a, 2 TB4 ports
I got the Latitude 7440 for work last week and it's so amazing! With an Ultrawide monitor that has a docking station integrated 🤯
Did you get the Ultra thin 7440?
Alex is definitely my favorite LMG employee. Love to see the solo content from him!
H series processors are $$$ though, and very power hungry. So the poor battery life will end up terrible.
atm I believe that Intel has horrendous power efficiency regardless of CPU spec; even the i7-1355u has a boost TDP of 55W
You should add one of those old sitcom "Taped In Front of a Live Audience" banners!
I'd love to get a notebook like this but with any AMD 7000 series APU: better graphics, better battery life, better thermals.
9:30 "very good processor for something like this" what do you mean for something like this? Its a 1.6kg 14" laptop that costs $3000.
Business laptop with soldered RAM? OMG, this is new... I can realize a XPS having it, but a business one?
3K & not even a full IO? still pretty impressive, now if Desktop Dell would take lessons & put this much effort & know how
One thing I don't see being muich considered with laptops with a tactile screen : the polling rate.
That is a very nice thin and light unit. But you can buy (2) XPS 13's for the price. Or XPS 13 and a dedicated gaming laptop.....
What track is playing at 4:15 in the background? I need more of that
Great Video, See you like that Dragonfly, see it in the videos alot. What model is the one you have?
For people planning on buying, here are some caveats I encountered -
1. It is quite heavy though it is very rigid
2. Touchpad is simply horrible. Will register a click when you're just moving your mouse around which gets annoying. If you want to click and drag something by holding down the left click, it will unclick it midway when you move your finger. This doesn't change by changing the touch sensitivity
3. Keyboard: Hard to get used to due to lack of space between keys and keys themselves are sort of mushy. Not horrible but at around $2-2.5k, you'd expect better
Maybe just the unit I tried but again - at that price, your quality control needs to be good.
I think most people will be able to find better alternatives!
I read somewhere that supposedly if you have a charger with more than 60w of charging power you need a bunch of extra safety features or something
That damn aero OEM wallpaper, still shipped with Dell laptops.
Is Alex that chipper because he get's to leave with his new favorite laptop? XD
It's weird, isn't it? Is Linus holding a gun to his head off-camera? Alex, blink twice if you are being held against your will.
@@arsenalx7 Agreed. As a user myself, I'm quite surprised at how well they still fare against newer laptops
This video seems exactly like the one Alex did on these same models a year ago. And the year before that. And the year before that.
would love to see some reviews on more affordable laptops
@ShortCircuit - hey! Do you have the DPC values for this (from LatencyMon)?
ayyyy they brought back the old keyboard from the haswel (4th gen intel) latitudes. Very awesome. The keyboards on those machines are my favorite ever, so it's nice to see them return. Too bad there's no trackpoint on this machine.
Ordered this exact model the day it came out as we were renewing our laptop fleet. Can't say that i've ever had a laptop this good.
Never understood the appeal of these ultra tiny laptops. I always carry them in a bagback or messenger bag. The difference won't be noticeable once they are in a bag. 😅
Nah, I had a 16" MacBook at some point and I actually traded it in for a 14" model, it's the perfect laptop size.
the video recorded using non studio microphones and that audio frequency range still conveyed with the latitude. i can feel the bass. by the way, i think gaming laptop should all comes in 16:10 screen ratio. because the verticality space is what gaming needed. i dont think many people even notice that. all this time people use multi monitor with view range only widen to the side, they are actually having semi tunnel vision. you know like seeing through a long rectangular hole where you dont get fair enough vertical span, while our pair of eye balls have big vertical view angle range.
I have one of these as a work laptop, lovely design. But they have an enterprise edition of windows 11 which is absolutely rubbish and makes a Chromebook a more attractive option
Before you watch it’s 3058 dollars!
video sound is a bit off, like echoey. also i can hear the AC or something.
Latitude was always the value line. That explains the bulky accessories etc.. It is not supposed to be premium. But compared to the past it is very impresive.
3k made me fuckin choke. how is that even possible, it doesn't even have dgpu lmao
7.5 hours battery is a joke
Yea that turns into 3 hours in about 2 years
What year is it? Dell latitudes are still a thing? This has to be a sponsored video promo or something. "Tomorrows review, Tobisha satellite"
Again?!
Would it be possible to get more than just dell xps 13" ads?
You do way to many of them.
That's a cool laptop. Shame S3 sleep isn't a thing anymore and I'm stuck with macbooks
I configured my laptop to hibernate on lid close. With an SSD its almost as fast to resume as sleep.
It's strange to say, but the 14" macbook pro is cheaper and have more ports !
@@winjaywinso you introduce extra wear and tear on your SSDs

5:38 I thought Alex leaked his password, but then I realized it was unlocked before he finished typing. He typed "I am thing a thing" and he doesn't have a password 😆
XPS13 also has 3.5mm audio jack, so a bit strange he keeps highlighting that feature
Not the new one. Only 2 USB-C like 13+
Can you guys review the new Alienware X14 R2 and X16 R2?
I'm in need of a new laptop and cant find any good reviews on the updated version
I think I can hear some kind of echo in some parts of video, might be just me but I recommend looking into it.
Am I going to buy this? No. Did I watch the whole video? Yes.
That small charger is an option to select, when you buy this
Have been waiting for them to move to the XPS 14 and 16. Maybe move the 17 to an 18” size?
So that the only usefull option to buy is 14 inch then
@@bigpod16’ is incredibly usable. It’d be barely larger than the current XPS 15.
@@levygaming3133 i was comparing size of my 15 inch with macbook pro 16 inch and idk i still liked slightly smaller size of my laptop but honestly 14 inch is pretty nice as well
If I get one dollar everytime alex say "exceptional" I'd be able to buy this laptop with dell extended warranty
Im getting close to an upgrade time with my Dell from 2017 , but unless gaming or something heavy its still good enough, I put 32gb ram in it so Im hesitant to upgrade
why this wideo feel so... - plastic?
everytime i see a laptop with a haptic touchpah
, i always wonder why can they just put vibration on everything like gaming
just make more use out of those motors
Dude I don't know if you get it in Canada or not . But I'm using a MSI modern 14 . I'm in app development and it works like charm it's light and great value for money with solid metallic build.. you should see if that's worth the buch
You can option the 60W charger instead, which as you showed, is smaller.
we need mor 17 inch and up laptops.
So they're going back to keyboards without proper gaps... My old laptop had that and honestly I prefer the gaps on my new one.
You keep saying it great for 13", but it is a 14" laptop. You compared weight to the XPS 13 as if it was something comparable, but this is a 14" vs a 13". You said the resolution is great for a 13"... but it is a 14".
If it’s “MacBook levels” of sound quality, why not test it against the MacBook Pro. After all, that was your previous benchmark.
LTT Merch Team, we need Alex “AAbsolutely FantAAstic” stickers, swag, license plate frames, air fresheners… something!
the room reverb threw me off a tad bit... but I'm sure you guys would have this sorted.
always glad Dell ships with the dongles... lol
the keyboard design kinda reminds me of an old toshiba or compaq (not sure) laptop keyboard design from more than a decade ago
Great video! (there's a lot of echo in that room just FYI)
I used a friend's xps 13 plus and I turned off the laptop instead of pressing the backspace multiple times because WhY is the power button next to the backspace?
Good review. Mic quality was a bit.. ambient on this video. Probably wouldn’t have noticed it without headphones though
