This is a interesting historical documentation. Interestingly, to me, is that my dad bought the Canadian version, 61 Meteor (full size sedan) in the same lovely aqua colour as the 61 Ford featured on the dyno. Would you know if that was a new for 61 Ford colour? It really was a very nice colour on those body lines. Love history lessons, sir.
There were two special Thunderbirds built at the end of the 1960 model run for Allegheny Ludlum, a manufacturer of stainless steel. These cars used stainless steel for their exterior body panels, and to run them during the course of the normal model year would have damaged the body dies. Allegheny Ludlum had also commissioned special stainless steel bodies for several Fords in 1936--and the last two Lincoln Continental 4-door convertibles ever built, in 1967, were also commissioned for Allegheny Ludlum, and also in stainless steel
The 1960 Falcon Station Wagons were introduced in November 1959
Thank you for a great series about Fords.
The 1960 Edsel build, introduction, and end of production vid would be short, Adrian!
I had a 60 Galaxie Town Sedan with every option and a 60 Sunliner as well. Great cars except they kept getting called Impalas.
Adrian, I really enjoyed this video. I like to see the calendars, as it lays everything out in a very easy-to-understand manner.
Excellent presentation. I was a 10 year old Ford guy!
Great work...early sixties Fords are my favourite !
@romemancer7905, thank you kindly! I'm glad that you enjoyed video #28!
Yours in old FoMoCo iron,
Adrian
You forgot Falcon based Ranchero , which is a pickup-car. Very small, compared to a 1972 Ranchero.
Thanks Adrian. Always a good day when you drop a new video!
Adrian do you by chance know if the Oakville Ontario plant followed the same schedule introducing the Frontenac in 1960 or was it a later release.

Wasn't the 1960 Thunderbird an extended production run?
