All I knew about Silent Hill when it came out that it was based on a video game. Loved it. Great sets, characters, creatures, sound design, etc. I thought it had a wonderful variety of interesting roles for women of all ages. Fabulous performances. Thanks for the great video!

You know, I actually defend the inclusion of Pyramid in this film. He is an icon that represents punishment, among other things, and his manifestation within the film due to his prevalence in the series' history actually mirrors his manifestation in the second game due to his prevalence in the town's history, which I'm sure is a coincidence, but I still like the parallel. In reality, Konami probably mandated his appearance due to his popularity, which is interesting to think about in light of modern tensions between Konami and people who have enjoyed Konami games throughout the years.

Nice job on this. I'd put Silent Hill among the best video game adaptations. Not because it was perfectly faithful or something like that, but because it was at least watchable. I never played the games, though i have watched portions of playthroughs, and read about some of the lore. It's not my kind of game, but i enjoyed this movie. The other Silent Hill movie was completely forgettable - as in, i actually don't remember anything about it.

I watched this movie back in 2008 when i was 14, and instantly loved it. This is what introduced me to SH video games, so me and my brother downloaded the 1st game in the (2000's) laptop and whooo boy... the experience whenever we played the game became much more terrifying but has a familiar atmosphere like the film did adapt.
Then bought PS2 and also SH2, 3 and 4, the rest is history and I became a fan of the franchise.
    SH: Revelation 3D, however.....
Let's not talk about it, the better.
What a massive disappointment for a sequel

I do not love it, so do not speak for me and many others. He changed the sex of the main character for no reason but virtue signalling because of the metoo movement at that time

If your reaction to the movie is to dislike it because you think the reason he changed the gender of the main character is virtue signaling, that says way more about you than it does the movie. That's like hating Avengers for making Nick Fury black. Unless there's a reason the gender, race or whatever else about a character is integral to the story, those things can be changed without affecting the story.
The original Silent Hill would have been no different with the main character being a mother instead of a father. You are gross.

@@Gravesyard I really dont understand why you messaged me the time stamps lol. My statement still stand.

@@zz1000zz My statement still stands there was no reason to change the characters gender unless he wanted to please a so called movement. So my statement/comment still stands.

what the hell does gender swapping have to do with the “me too” movement and SA?? the movie came out in 2006 and the movement started in 2017. like you tried but failed miserably and chris said why he changed the lead to a female-i don’t agree with the changes but if you’re gonna try to make a decent argument at least be historically accurate. google is FREE.
and he’s not speaking for the whole fandom and made that clear. some of us can separate the movie from the game and appreciate what they tried to do. if you dont, why are you here? you sound bitter🤷🏽‍♀️
