I was sat second row, right in front of her. She was visibly nervous coming onto stage, but absolutely nailed the whole night. You can watch all the videos in the world, but nothing will prepare you for how truly astonishing she is when she's in front of you live. Recordings, even this one, don't do her justice.

I totally concur with your assessment of Lucy she's already arguably the greatest ever female vocalist in my opinion.
I went back to when Lucy first recorded this song and released it Oct 18 2020, Lucy was 16 years old, 4 months before her 17th birthday and yes it was spectacular......BUT...in the over 3 years since Lucy's voice has matured, it is more clear, more clean deeper, wider and, she can go higher and yes more powerful. simply STUNNING !!!!!! can't wait to hear all the other songs she sang that night !! and if nothing else this proves Lucy is the real deal, best singer out there !! !
I was lucky to be at this concert and Lucy opened with this, it was brilliant, it was awesome. I met locals who know the family they told me Lucy sings at friends and family weddings! Imagine that! For me it was the best concert I have ever been too, I feel so privileged to have been there. Not just an amazing singer but also a lovely, grounded, humble, genuinely nice person. Nice reaction Chris, well done for jumping on this one so quickly. This concert could almost be considered a prerequisite for the now well publicised musical "Rosie" where this concert will raise her profile even higher now. Lucy's got an astute brilliant team behind her, drip feeding her talent to people all over the world via UA-cam over many years now. A lot of up and coming young artists should take note and don't get sucked in with promises from the huge recording giants who just see Dollar or Pound signs. Lucy's learnt her trade with exceptional results and now deserves to be unleashed on the world stage.

Thanks Chris for getting right on this video/song !!! Several that attended in person have reported she sang 17 songs that night !!!! But it looks like they are going to dole them out one at a time as this is the only one released so far. It also was reported Martha joined her for a couple of songs and all said the concert sounded better live than the recordings !!! Probably because Lucy and Martha are older, more mature now. But man !!!! Yes she is STUNNING and as an old man the best singer i have ever heard !!! There's a new Queen in town !!! Thanks Chris and we too are all waiting for the rest of the songs !!

Lucy is the best vocalist going around right now and arguably the best there has ever been though I am sure some would debate this. Not me though, I am convinced. Hi Christopher , i hope this performance can finally put to bed the "can she do it live comments," having seen her sing this on the night i can not detect any difference in the production of the video, thankfully they have released it as sung , this was her first number and she was very nervous, as the night progressed and her confidence grew , she also grew, the show, culminating in a superb rendition of "hallelujah" which had the audience on their feet for the fourth time and not a dry eye in the house!! truely a night to remember. Hi Barara, during the show Lucy did a question and answer session and the interviewer asked for a show of hands concerning the makeup of the audience, there were as you say a good number of americans and canadians, a few assorted europeans, and probably two thirds british, as you point out regardless of birthplace they absolutely loved her,!! to the point that she received a standing ovation before she sang a note,! this was her first number and as the video shows she was very nervous, but the love from the audience lifted her and she gave us a superb evenings entertainment, i don't think there was a dry eye in the house at the conclusion of the night, when she finished with a mind blowing rendition of "Hallelujah". Ian.
You were really quick of the mark with this one, Chris. Agree with your remarks. No one can ever again claim "studio" Lucy is the greatest. Should be the UKs nomination for Eurovision. Cannot wait to see her live, wish I could have been in Manchester for this one but will have to wait- I am down under. Thanks for supporting Lucy.
Why would she lower her credibility by entering that God awful and outdated competition which mostly comprises of cheap gimmicks like ridiculous outfits and woeful auto-tuned singer's, Lucy clearly has far too much talent and doesn't require such publicity stunts to gain popularity.

Update Chris Lucy has released her 17th song of the night of her concert, the encore, of HALLELUJAH and she changed it up a bit, started in her lower register and then at the bridge ramped it up and CRUSHED the song, she also has released AT LAST and her final song of ROSIE WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.. you really need to check these out as it appears she is releasing each song individually, Martha also joined her for 2 songs THE PRAYER and WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD we are waiting for the videos of those, and a couple of picture have emirged of Martha at the event and I hardly recognized her.....she has grown up and was dressed as such !!! WOW !!! Thanks for the react !!

6 albums! Rosie album was published March 1st. Standing ovation before the first note, yeah that's the Lucy effect. We had the time of our lives. Yes she was nervous during this first song as you can hear. Who wouldn't be. This is for now the only clip, but she sang 17 in total that evening. We agree, she really is the best.

Great reaction Chris...... yeah Lucy is the best, the cute factor is off the scales here, but getting back to her vocals, she was already the best years ago. No singer has the arsenal this girl has or such a solid foundation to which to rise..... and as I have been tying to say to you, if you could possibly go back to her earlier stuff..... you'll see this for yourself, because you only jumped on board when she was 16 with Have yourself a Merry Xmas. Again.... try Memory when she was 15..... the range is, to repeat myself again, just off the scales. Her tone when 13 singing Moon River..... just incredible for a young girl of that age. All she is doing now actually is fulfilling her destiny.
Lucy was actually 18 or 19 when she did Have Yourself A Merry Christmas.
He should check out her live performance of Moon River when she auditioned for The Voice Kids, if it isn't available in the U.S maybe there's a way someone could link it to him.

JaapFilius You're absolutely right. Lucy and Angelina are two very talented young lady's, and are well on their way to world wide recognition. It's a blessing that they are reminding us of some of the great music of the past but also the present. However, I feel there are some commenters out there, who feel the need to compare these two lady's as if it's some kind of competition and that one is better than the other. It's totally pointless. Also, don't we have enough female POP singers in the world, some of which hide behind special effects such as dancers and flashing lights at live performances. What we've seen here is classic Lucy Thomas --- Like her videos, virtually a blank backdrop with just her we can concentrate on. it's perfect. Now looking forward to the next concert video release.
Sorry but for me there's no competition because Angelina is too blatantly influenced by Amy Winehouse and just not even in the same league as Lucy in any way shape or form.
I think of several other young female singers I'd rank above Angelina too; Connie Talbot, Amira Willighagen and even Jackie Evancho.

My first thought, before she sang a note, was "I don't think much of the make up". Then I remembered, she's on stage, she needs stage make up that will look right way back. Clever girl. As to the music, well, it's Lucy, what else do you expect?
I wanted to point this . In a stage, the make up has to be "exaggerated" ( in fact , everything has to be "exaggerated"). People on the last raw have to get it. This is very professional.

The Only problem I had with this concert was, when i got through to booking a seat it was "SOLD OUT"
The tickets sold out really quickly, especially the meet & greet. They were gone within 2 hrs of the tickets going on sale.
Hope that you get the opportunity to go to a future concert as you have to be there to appreciate just how good Lucy & Martha really are.

Chris, interesting point about the comparison to Karen, but Lucy has a style almost identical to Barbra........she has a heavier, richer, more layered vocal than Barbra...........no, I agree; Lucy is one of a kind that no other solo performer can match; her sister, Martha, has a similar style to Karen, which is softer, but with that beautiful, sultry, so emotional! This is why Lucy & Martha sound so good together, completely different vocals mesh ever so elegantly.........tap into your soul.......and guide you into a sense of musical hypnosis.......the "Lucy effect"

another new and great vocalist that hit the scene mostly in the past year is Tori Holub. She actually sounds almost exactly like Karen Carpenter...and has several shorts of Carpenters songs but one very recent full song cover We have Just begun that is simply incredible. We are blessed to have Lucy and now also Tori. Tori is a different genre from Lucy so there is plenty of room for both of these young divas to shine and blossom. It was great seeing a live performance from Lucy.
Believe it or not but I saw Karen Carpenter live in Toronto in 1970. That was almost 54 years ago. The only one since then that I am fond of musically is Hayley Westenra from New Zealand but my favorite all time female singer has to be...DRUM ROll...........LUCY THOMAS
Yes, Lucy nailed it again. At this moment I have two favourits: Lucy Thomas and Angelina Jordan. Two different genres but these young women are spreading their wings now, with big live concerts: Lucy did it in the UK and Angelina in the USA. And they are both at top level in their genre. It is such a joy to follow their journey and see/hear what they are capable off. And that's a lot.... to say the least.

Chris...As a Karen Carpenter fan myself (kinda natural for us 60+ yo codgers) I have a recommendation for you, or for one of your patreons to buy in for...Her name is Tori Holub, and last month she dropped a 2024 "Carpenters" song called Something to Believe In. That and her Carpenters covers blew my ever loving mind!. As for this one, it was not overproduced, like I feel some of Lucy's recent covers have been. A tinch flat, or sharp or nervous is what makes the human voice HUMAN. & gorgeous
HI Eric, i attended the concert, and i must admit that i was concerned that when the video was released that the production team would play around with it and in my opinion spoil it, but thankfully that doesn't seem to have happened, this was her first number, and she was very nervous , which i agree makes it more human, as the concert progressed she grew in confidence and just got better and better, her encour "Hallelujah"was breathtaking,
