After I made this I tried balancing the A7iii on it.. IT WORKS!!! Think I need to make another video now, brb
sony a73 with 24-105 ..does it support ??? pls chris sir rply
i eagerly await this cause the price is very nice
Even though the max weight says 720g, there are vlogs out there that show it supporting up to 850g. One even balanced a A6500 and a Sigma 16mm 1.4 (858g combined) with no issues. It might be nice to see what the max really is. One thing one of them said is to set the motors on low to balance the heavier weights. The high mode can produce some shakes.
That will be too heavy
Coming soon
A great little tip for any vloggers trying to use one of these older model Sony cameras: take out the strap rings they make alot of noise if you are trying to record audio.
This video is a full of information that i needed! I use a6400 and about to buy the Zhiyun Crane M2! Thank you for your review!
I like how you do it. Nice making your point then show video sample
A6400+sigma 16 do u think its good for this gimbal?
Hi! This video was fantastic. We are having trouble connecting our Crane M2 to our Sony a6400. Do you have a video on how you connected the two? We've searched through their installation videos and haven't had any luck.
can you use a sony a6600 paired with a sigma 16 1.4 on it?
Did you get an answer?
Hi Chris, can I use this with an iPhone XS as well? .... let's say the camera run out of battery
Yep, will work
Thank you for the video! I really love the color of the footage that you recorded on Sony 6400. I just bought Sony 6400 but the footage color seems a little greyish. Can you do a tutorial l on how you edit your videos? How did you make the video look so colorful? thank you!
straight out the camera using the creative style 'autumn leaves' just gotta expose properly
My favourite youtuber!! 😍
You're the best!
Can you use it when my Sony has a small rig cage?
I bought this 6400 camera, and the crane too! My camera lenses is very large one! It doesn’t balance with this accessory. What can I do? Change the lenses size?
I am interested what lens doesn't work? I am looking at purchasing a a6400 with Sigma 16mm lens.
These cranes are great if u film stuff outside. I bought the Sony 16mm lens. I love Sony a6400. Great quality pic and video. I would purchase these used like new if I am going to buy camera stuff again.
Thanks for the video, really helpful!
welcome
Nice and to the point
Hi have the Sony A6400 with 18-50 kit lens. Can’t decide between the Crane M2 and G6 Max?
Very good, thank you, at this moment I have a gopro hero 5 for videos, I'm a photographer
I have the weebill s w/ a6400. I am thinking about selling it and getting the Crane M2. One thing I'm curious about, can you charge the camera from the gimbal? I use that extensively with the Weebill S
Will it work on a 6300
Are you in Australia?
English, live in Canada.
Have you tried this gimbal with Sony a7c?
I'm searching for a small gimbal for a7c + 20mm f1.8
Where is the sleep mode control?
Could this hold like a Sony a7 well?
Compatible with the Sony a6300? I looked on their site and it doesn't list that it is but I don't see why it wouldn't be...
yep.
I'm not sure how to get this gimbal to work with the controls for my Sony a 6400, like the record button, any idea?
Gotta use the buttons on the camera, or get a Sony remote.
Can this gimbal handle the a6400 with an 18-135 f3.5 lens? Is it too heavy?
Too heavy
will this balance Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens too
should do
does this gimbal still work if I use an external microphone? would it offset the balance?
probably wouldnt balance
Datsko use the ECM wireless Bluetooth
is this gimbal works with 18-135 mm kit lens?
not a chance haha, wayyyyyyy to heavy
Can you suggest any gimbal suitable for a6400 with 18-135mm kit lens?
Weebill Lab or Crane M2?
Weebill Lab
a6600 + sigma 30 1.4 please
it doesnt work... i bought for the same setting...but i will give it back :(
Would this gimbal balance with a sigma 16mm on a6400?
Hi Wayne - did you end up having this setup? I have same camera and lens, and looking at getting the gimbal
Same here!!!
@@ronnieadamowicz Same here!!
You think it would do good with a 50mm f1.8? Or even a sigma 16mm f.4 and how is the battery life because I need something I can take on vacation or even ride dirtbikes and record people
Hi, just want to ask. How did you pair the controls of your sony a6400 to your zhiyun m2?
Did you ever figure this out? Considering buying and curious if it is controled via wifi/bluetooth or requires a cable.
Just got my a6400. Was looking for hacks for better stabilization, so happy that I found this! Great Video mate!
good video, my wife has this gimbal with a Sony RX100VA on it and we are going to get the Sony A6400 for her to use.
Really nice small gimbal and seems to work really well, quite impressed with it.
Thanks for making the video.
Welcome! I’m super impressed with it for the size
Seen almost every possible video about the A6400 on YT. Your review is hands down the most comprehensive and shows the best setup one should have to make up for the stabilisation issues this camera has especially during the vlogging bit.
You need sigma 16mm lens for blogging, but a6400 with sigma 16 is too big for this gimbal
I have crane m2 and I bought it from 10 months ago and it’s stopped working suddenly, without any scratching or dropping it , after I contacted zhiyun and because I’m living in Egypt, they said me that their Egyptian agent can fixing it on my cost, or I can send it to their repair center in German and shipping fees on my cost too even the gimbal in warranty period,
I’m very disappointed ☹️ and I waiting now the report from their Egyptian agent
@chrisbrockhurst Hey Chris, 2 quick questions. First, I just don’t understand how you are able to shoot in portrait mode like you did using this gimbal and a Sony a6400. I tried turning the gimbal exactly like you did it, and it physically doesn’t allow the cameras weight to stay vertical. 2nd question, do you have any techniques where the gimbal allows the camera to point directly downward tilt? So the camera is facing the ground. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for mentioning the sigma lens!
Hi bro, nice vlog...i have doubt....is it crane M2 zoom option working with A6400?
You're reviews are always awesome. I am sold!!
Try my best ✌🏻
Great video, Chris. May I ask what ND filter you got on the kit lens?
Do you happen to have a video balancing?
I have a Sont zv-1 I have watched a few videos. Either the go to fast or maybe don't explain just quite right or...lol I'm just stupid. But having issues balancing
Amazing review! I have the Sony a4000 with kit lens and i'm getting the sigma 30mm, now im definitely getting this too!! thanks a bunch
Great review thanks might get one of these to go with my a6500
I had this gimbal and I loved it until my kit lense broke and I got the 18-105, now it’s useless with that big heavy lense
other youtuber said you cannot use this gimbal for heavier lenses. This is something Chris Brockhurst hid and I did not like that.
Hii thanks for sharing this! just a quick question. Do you have to rebalance the gimbal when you’re changing focal length using that kit lens? Thanks!!
vlog mode // worlds worst audio 🤣 thanks for this video!
This is by far my fav review on this gimbal 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
thankyou!!
Can you balance a rode video micro with that setup?
Hmmm probably a bit too heavy
Would it become unbalance if you flip the screen? and can it handle a small shot gun mic + a6400?
I’m in love 😍 with both 🙈
Hey good video, have you tried using this gimbal with rode micra, and sigma 16mm lens? Can it handle the weight?
exactly what i was thinking... maybe the mic on the side with tip it
Can he overcome 6400 with small rig and 50mm samyang lens ?
I hope when the Sony ZV-e10 comes out, it is light enough to use with this gimbal AND a mic on board.
Looks it just might, based on the weight from the released specs it would depend on the lens
This actually made me select an RX100 VII instead of a 6400 as the overall package works better!!
I used it for a couple of days with my A6400. Some issues:
1) couldn’t find the setting to control motor speed with the camera. I believe it works when you use a phone on the gimbal, so not useful for camera users. The speed in my opinion is quite slow.
2) the plastic body can induce some serious scratches on the camera’s body especially while moving it around with the gimbal off. There is only one axis lock and the camera can become super wobbly while transporting. I have scratches on the back of my flip screen and some around the lens cover.
All in all if you’re okay with carrying a little bulkier but more robust and safer gimbal for your camera then go for the DJI ronin-SC or something in that range.
Extract from purchaser on Amazon: Despite seeing many photos and reviews using an a6000 with the Crane M2, the motors cannot support it, making almost all of the modes ineffective - especially vortex mode. I can imagine this would be very good for phones and GoPros but I’d steer clear if you want to use it with a DSLR. Very disappointing, especially as it is advertised using the a6000 and a6400. - Another on Amazon: t is slightly disappointing with my Sony a6400 and 28mm lens. It is clear that this is on the far end of the payload coming in at 618 grams. The stabiliser struggles with anything more than basic movement and wobble is introduced with walking and running.
Please comment Cris Brockhurst as I have the Sony A6400 - never hitherto owned a gimbal and want to be sure that all the features on the Crane m2 will function as they are supposed to do so when on the Sony A6400. - Many thanks in anticipation of your comments
I can’t comment on others but A6400 works fine for me. It technically won’t balance but the motors handle it no issue and works fine
I was able to get an a6300 and sigma 16mm 1.4 to balance on a small gimbal using a 3D printed counterbalancing system on my channel!
ua-cam.com/video/8eXhPngzCYo/v-deo.html
I agree, the limit for manageable load on this is point and shoot. The fact that you can balance bigger cameras on it doesn’t mean it’s ideal for it. For footage that is not slowmo...I did notice micro jitters in most review videos using smaller mirrorless. It works but it’s not ideal. I would say the Sony apsc and kit 16-50 is the limit. Rather get a weebill s....slightly bigger but a little monster
i also had the problem that i couldn't use my quick release system with the crane m2. so i just mounted my peak design plate underneath the zhiyun QR plate with a flat screw. works fine. that doesn't solve the problem with the battery but i can now easily switch from gimbal to peak design capture clip or tripod.
Interesting! Will have to try this
Hi why This gimbal is not compatible with Fuji camaras?????
Hi Chris, great channel - how does the on/off start recording button work with the camera. I use a canon m6 mk2. Cheers Simon
I actually have used the button, sorry. I just use it directly yon camera
Will the Sigma 16mm 1.4 or Sony 16-55mm 2.8 work with this gimbal?
16mm F1.4 will be tight, 16-55 won't
Would you recommend the Zhiyun Crane M2 or the Dji Ronin SC?
no! SC can carry ALOT more weight
Thanks for clarifying all the worries and doubts about Crane M2 🙂.
There’s good and bad!
nice video ! thanks. but you have only have to press the trigger once for F mode.
Zhiyun = Jee-Yun. FYI.
will the Sigma 16 mm f1.4 lens be okay on this gimbal with A6400???!!
should be! its over the weight limit but it will handle it
Hey mate, great video. Would this still work as good with a non OSS lens such as the Sony 11mm1.8?
Thanks. 👍🏼
I almost threw up watching POV mode.... ! lol
yeh it can do that haha
I’ve had the a6400 for a while but I’ve been frustrated with the lack of stabilization! Such a beautiful video ruined with my shaky hands haha. Just ran out and grabbed this gimbal, I am so excited! Your video is helping me get the hang of it!
Good to hear!! Enjoy
I know the video is a bit old but cluld please give me your opinion, is this gimabl suitable for sony a6400 with sigma 30 and rode vidmic pro plus all together? Thanks
do you think this would work with the a6400 and a Sony 35mm f/1.8? Great video. Thank you.
Can this gimbal handle the Sony a6400 with 18-135mm lens?
The total combined weight of the camera and lens is 728 gms whilst the max pay load of the M2 is stated as being 720 gms
Not for daily use. Video is great nevertheless
Do you think it’ll work with sigma 16mm?
honestly yes
Chris Brockhurst Did you try it? Because the weights of lens and camera are higher than the payload weight in the specs.
I saw a few videos, it does. If you bought it pls update
Is It still fine If I use a6100+samyang 50 1.4 lens which is Heavy??
wont balance
Okay thanks.. now I just Bought The Weebill S, what do you Think, Sir??
alter!!!! just followed you! UA-cam needs more people like you! Thanks a lot for this video. Maybe now i dont have to fight with the autofocus from gh5 :-)
haha thank man!
I just wish there was a way to power my Sony RX100 VII from the gimbal battery because it's a total pain in the butt to have to change batteries in the camera because you have to de-mount from the gimbal and then rebalance again afterward.
Chris nice vid,do u think a zv e10 with the sigma 56mm 1.4 work with the crane m2
Does it fits with Sony 18-105 f/4 lens?
Too heavy
Hi can i use with Canon Eos RP? Its not over weight. 132.5x85x70mm and 485g. What do you think.
Can this gimbal be used un low mode (waist height) with the camera pointing forward and me still standin straight? Doing mostly real estate video, thank you.
Hey, I have a question, why after pairing the crane m2 gimbal with the sony a6400, it turns off the ability to face tracking at 4k? Why?
Hi Chris great Video! Can you please say100% if this is compatible with Sony a6600 or not please ?
It will be too heavy
@@chrisbrockhurst but still doable with a 16-50 lense?
Brothet buen video , tengo una duda es compatible también con alpha 6100 ?
I'm so thankful I found this video! Going straight in my basket....
Great vid, thank you for putting it together! Do you recommend getting the 18-135 or 16-50 lens with the A6400. I'm looking to do vlogging, b-role shots and photography.
im commenting so i can see the answer
I bought it with 18-135... good starter lens... i didnt get the chance to buy just the body.. and only 18-135 was available... its a decent lens.. dont know why people seem to hate it.. it's really a good travel lens
Is this gimbal best for Sony a6400 with Sigma 16 mm 1.4 Lens ? Please reply ..
Hey Chris, would you suggest this gimbal for A6400 with Sony 85 1.8 and Sigma 16 1.4 lenses? Or too heavy? Thanks!
I'm struggling to balance it. Anybody got any good tips. I have the Sony A6400 with kit lens.
Thank you. I was thinking, it did not work for my Sony a6400 but now I know that I must learn to use it and balance it well to avoid the lock error
will the weight from a 24-70 work on it as well?
Too heavy
What if you undersling it for a more lower shot?
Love the video, any idea out will balance with a6400 and sigma 16mm f1.4?
your video samples is way too smooth, either its deceptive and you added post stabilization or all the other videos ive seen they didnt balance it well.
I didn’t add anything in post.
@@chrisbrockhurst okay, i noticed its because you used a lens with OSS. if you used the sigma lenses or non oss lenses it would still shake even with a gimbal.
at 8:20 and 5:31 what LUT did you use? I'm on FCPX, what is that you selling, is it for video?
I dont use LUTS
Will you do a video with sigma 30mm? I plan on buying but want to be sure it supports the set up
Maybe! You mean just using the sigma 30?
@@chrisbrockhurst for myself I'll be using sigma 30mm do just wanted to be sure it will hold.
Hi bro I have a stabilizer it came with Carma drone ., can i use it with Sony a 6000 ?
can this gimbal faciliate a Nikon Z50 with a Sigma 17-50mm lens?
