I listened to this song on repeat the night it came out for hours. Because it reminds me of my boyfriend and I. High school sweethearts, dated until I was 20, then split for 6 years. We've been back together now for almost 7 years, working together every day, living together, along with a 2 year old daughter. I like how y'all glossed over the violence. Because I've been exactly in that situation. I'm 5'3, this mofo 6'3. Grabbing me by the neck and holding me against the wall in front of our daughter's bassinet. I gave him 3 warnings to let me go. On the third, I started punching directly in his temple, right hooks for days. He let me go. Then, complained I broke his glasses.
I told him:
"Bitch, if you dont want the heat, don't come in the kitchen. Because the next time you get near the oven, you're having roasted chestnuts for dinner, ya heard?"
We've been pretty good since then. Just gotta scare them ever so often by waking them up with a knife to their genitals. 🤷♀️
