Hello Simon. I had my appointment yesterday in Algeria but unfortunately my file was missing a police certificate from the UK (where I lived for 5 years) though I applied for one a couple of weeks ago. I haven't heard from ACRO yet and website states it may take up to 30 working days to process application. I am very nervous as the immigration officer said I should send it ASAP. Any suggestions? (I emailed ACRO many times, no response)
@@mtartachenko Hey, I suppose when you state all your addresses when you fill out your DS260 is how they know where you lived, in my case I did my PhD in the UK so it is obvious I lived there for some time. They need a police certificate if you lived abroad for more than 6 months.

My problem has been getting the Kenyan good conduct since the system has been down for a while now. I however have a PCC from Qatar where I’ve been living. Is producing the Qatar good conduct alone enough if I fail to get the Kenyan one before my interview appointment?
The passport requirement reduced the number of fraudulent entries. I wish it could be reintroduced. The government have been reluctant to issue visas to selectees in the successful lawsuits of dv20 and dv21, but could do appeal that court ruling on the removal of the passport requirement. Such a pity!

We realized that once you have filled and submitted their DS260s they must attend interview with you but we would not want them to join us immediately. If you have been living in this current country for the past seven years then I advice you to unlock the add this country info and then also prepare to get a police report from this country that state you have no criminal records since you been living there I hope this help
Ok, what if our very first entry in 2015, we had taken the photo at home ( for sure the pictures didn't cover the requirements there had a background shadows) so if that very first application with bad photos is does it affect the next application in DV Lottery ( after 2015 we applying with professional photo) I mean to add us in some sort "blacklist" that we attached the photos that not meet the requirements?

Nope. KCC's system categorises photos of applicants, their partners and dependants, so when a second form is submitted with the same photos, the system checks that the same photos have not been used for the same slots: applicant, partner, dependants. Example #1 - if applicant photo matches the applicant photo of another entry = entry disqualified (or forwarded to human personnel, depending on case) Example #2 - if partner photo matches with the photo of another applicant's partner = disqualified or forwarded to staff Example #3 - if dependant photo on one entry matches photo of dependant photo on another entry, a max number of two instances can occur, if more, entry is forwarded to staff or is disqualified. So essentially two partners can use the same photo for their dependant(s), but if more than 2 entries use the same photo, a red flag is raised, and staff need to discern whether their automatic system is having difficulties or whether something 'fraudulent' is happening.

In the ds 260, is the date of attendance the same as date of admission to the school? and the date of attendance to the same as the date of graduation from the school? I was off by a few days from the dates on my certificates, should I unlock? The month and year are correct but for the days I typed 1 instead of 11 and 1 instead of 15 since I thought it was attendance and not those on the certificates. I also only added the info from age 16 above even though I was in that same school since age 5, is that correct?

From my understanding, if you have citizenship from the eligible country, you can apply to DV lottery. If you only have citizenship from your country of birth (which is ineligible for the DV lottery) you cannot apply for DV lottery. In this second case, only she can apply and on her submission she can include you as her husband, and if she wins, you also win. But it's only one entry, for your wife, you may not submit one for yourself, unless, again, you're also a national citizen of your wife's country (which is eligible for DV lottery).
Mac, in your situation you can both enter. On your entry you will list your birth country correctly, but on the chargeability question you would select your wife's country of birth. She can just enter the normal way. Of course you also include each other as spouses on your entries, plus any children. If EITHER of you are selected you can both processes.

So you've applied on behalf of your brother but used photos of yourself? Not wise. Photos hold a lot of info in the backend which can sometimes conflict with the info submitted on a form. When it comes to visas, a thorough search with multiple steps needs to result in unwavering commitment that the info you're submitting is real. Any doubts can and most likely end up in disqualification. For example - Governments & their partners know that in most cases when people apply for visas, they're most likely to apply from home, so when your photo returns with a geolocation different than your residency, it raises eyebrows and just makes it safer for them to reject you in lieu of a bigger risk. You can still apply for him yourself, but it's has to be a photo of him. Why complicate matters? Even if you look identical.

But I got lucky with dv2020 after playing since 2006, then covid came and spoiled everything. Meaning identical twins have a very low chance of passing this thing. I was wondering if while waiting for my case to be processed, could I visit the US? I already have ESTA issued last year but I’ve heard someone say you cannot travel to the US while you wait for the green card but I wonder if it also applies to this situation. Will they see it on the border that I’ve got the DS-260 submitted? Please let me know if you know how it works :) 2) Also, I once got arrested for something dumb when I lived in the US in the past. The case got dismissed before I even appeared in the court and I want to prepare the court records but all they have sent me was just the copy of the violation and case dismissed receipt. It is very strange they removed the passport requirements, since it works like an anti-cheat in some ways. I mean what if someone wants to be mean and use your photo again and again, so this basically is a devastation for that particular person whom wants to try their chance out. Very weird indeed. I hope the put back the passport requirements so KCC and their partnerships can now what is right and what not. How were they even thinking here?

There is some risk that the CO sees this as some evidence of fraud. The only way forward (if you accept the risk) is to complete the DS260 accurately, and hope the CO forgives the mistake.

While checking DS260, in the education field, i studied certificate and diploma in australia, and in number of institution attended question,i wrote 9, coz i mistakenly count the courses and degrees i completed not the number of institution. Photos must be of the person(s) indicated on the form. Providing the same photo for more than one person will either automatically disqualfy the entry by KCC's system as it failed to provide a unique face ID, or will be forwarded to human personnel who will disqualify your entry for the same reason.
That is totally fine. A married couple need to list each other on their entries, and they will use a photo as their own entry, and then re-use that photo when the spouse creates their entry.

You have to read the reciprocity page for that country and follow the instructions.

Nope. KCC's system categorises photos of applicants, their partners and dependants, so when a second form is submitted with the same photos, the system checks that the same photos have not been used for the same slots: applicant, partner, dependants.
Example #1 - if applicant photo matches the applicant photo of another entry = entry disqualified (or forwarded to human personnel, depending on case)
Example #2 - if partner photo matches with the photo of another applicant's partner = disqualified or forwarded to staff
Example #3 - if dependant photo on one entry matches photo of dependant photo on another entry, a max number of two instances can occur, if more, entry is forwarded to staff or is disqualified. So essentially two partners can use the same photo for their dependant(s), but if more than 2 entries use the same photo, a red flag is raised, and staff need to discern whether their automatic system is having difficulties or whether something 'fraudulent' is happening.
The government certainly could use FR in that scenario, yes.

What time is your live about the DV lottery?
In the ds 260, is the date of attendance the same as date of admission to the school? and the date of attendance to the same as the date of graduation from the school? I was off by a few days from the dates on my certificates, should I unlock? The month and year are correct but for the days I typed 1 instead of 11 and 1 instead of 15 since I thought it was attendance and not those on the certificates. I also only added the info from age 16 above even though I was in that same school since age 5, is that correct?

Im from ineligible country but my wife is from eligible county and we leave in her country can i become the principal applicant in our next entry in October?????
From my understanding, if you have citizenship from the eligible country, you can apply to DV lottery. If you only have citizenship from your country of birth (which is ineligible for the DV lottery) you cannot apply for DV lottery. In this second case, only she can apply and on her submission she can include you as her husband, and if she wins, you also win. But it's only one entry, for your wife, you may not submit one for yourself, unless, again, you're also a national citizen of your wife's country (which is eligible for DV lottery).
Viorel - that understanding is incorrect.
Mac, in your situation you can both enter. On your entry you will list your birth country correctly, but on the chargeability question you would select your wife's country of birth. She can just enter the normal way. Of course you also include each other as spouses on your entries, plus any children. If EITHER of you are selected you can both processes.

What abt identical twins when it comes to this photo recognition. I've played several times for my twin brother using diff pics of myself with diff background and diff shirts. No wonder our badluck in this thing
So you've applied on behalf of your brother but used photos of yourself? Not wise. Photos hold a lot of info in the backend which can sometimes conflict with the info submitted on a form. When it comes to visas, a thorough search with multiple steps needs to result in unwavering commitment that the info you're submitting is real. Any doubts can and most likely end up in disqualification.
For example - Governments & their partners know that in most cases when people apply for visas, they're most likely to apply from home, so when your photo returns with a geolocation different than your residency, it raises eyebrows and just makes it safer for them to reject you in lieu of a bigger risk.
You can still apply for him yourself, but it's has to be a photo of him. Why complicate matters? Even if you look identical.
@@viorel- wow, this is very helpful. I've been doing this for the past 5yrs. No wonder why we have been unlucky. But I got lucky with dv2020 after playing since 2006, then covid came and spoiled everything. Meaning identical twins have a very low chance of passing this thing. Hi Simon, I hope you’ll see this comment and answer to two questions I have as I don’t know when the next Q&A is going to be.
1) I got selected in the DV lottery and submitted the DS-260 form. I was wondering if while waiting for my case to be processed, could I visit the US? I already have ESTA issued last year but I’ve heard someone say you cannot travel to the US while you wait for the green card but I wonder if it also applies to this situation. Will they see it on the border that I’ve got the DS-260 submitted? Please let me know if you know how it works :)
2) Also, I once got arrested for something dumb when I lived in the US in the past. The case got dismissed before I even appeared in the court and I want to prepare the court records but all they have sent me was just the copy of the violation and case dismissed receipt. Do you think it’s enough? The good thing is they let me extend my visa later and also let me in 3 more times back into the US on ESTA. Do you think I should be worried that this may have an impact for them not to issue me a green card?

Last month my brother had mistaken letters of his name he corrected it on interview day. He told them consular didn't ask him. Be Honest
It is very strange they removed the passport requirements, since it works like an anti-cheat in some ways. I mean what if someone wants to be mean and use your photo again and again, so this basically is a devastation for that particular person whom wants to try their chance out. Very weird indeed. I hope the put back the passport requirements so KCC and their partnerships can now what is right and what not. How were they even thinking here?

Now I won the lottery, but he mistake on my Surname, my name is Fuhad Abubakarr Gbla but he plays for me as Fuhad Abubakarr Kargbo. Can I correct that? And the case number is 2025af794XX. Can I get a interview letter?
There is some risk that the CO sees this as some evidence of fraud. The only way forward (if you accept the risk) is to complete the DS260 accurately, and hope the CO forgives the mistake.

While checking DS260, in the education field, i studied certificate and diploma in australia, and in number of institution attended question,i wrote 9, coz i mistakenly count the courses and degrees i completed not the number of institution. The number of institution is 7 and courses completed are 9. So unlocking is needed or not??

What about if wife and husband put same photos in each others page in october?
Photos must be of the person(s) indicated on the form. Providing the same photo for more than one person will either automatically disqualfy the entry by KCC's system as it failed to provide a unique face ID, or will be forwarded to human personnel who will disqualify your entry for the same reason.
That is totally fine. A married couple need to list each other on their entries, and they will use a photo as their own entry, and then re-use that photo when the spouse creates their entry.
