A lot of heart breaking moments in this episode. For one Amos said there is three type of people in the world 1. The ones you follow 2. The ones you protect. and 3. The ones you kill. When he is blind he cannot kill anyone or protect he can only follow and be protected and that loss of controll got him so scared. Also for Bobby, her whole identity was being a Martian and sacrificing everything for Mars. It hits her hard when she realise the fact that the dream of Mars is dying. Such a great episode.
Watching your reactions to Season 4 has made me appreciate this season so much more. The thing that I love about this show is that it knows where it's going and everything along the way is really important. You guys are so good at this! I'm enjoying your reactions so much.
I would recommend re-watching the entire show if you haven't done so, because it is so much better on the second viewing... Especially Seasons 4 & 5 IMO! : )
The story amos shares is slightly more graphic in the books, when he says "they" he means johns that would pay his pimp to.. use him. So for as long as he was in the dark he was being sexually abused, a waking nightmare
I believe this is the first time that we've seen/heard Drummer laugh out loud. She's always such a stoic warrior with a cynical sense of humor, but never laughs. It was great to see.
And to think, Ashford in the books is pretty much a nothing character, story-wise. So glad the writers took the opportunity of having David Strathairn's considerable acting talents as a way to develop him into a wonderfully multidimensional character. I love how invested you two are in all of these various plotlines. Makes me happy to see how much everyone loves these stories.
Wow! I honestly couldn't ask for anymore than the connection you two have with this amazing show! I was looking forward to your reaction to certain scenes in this episode.... and then I honestly didn't want to watch. Seeing your tears and the emotional connection really got to me! 😢 You both covered every story line so well in your outro. Chrisjen, Holden and Amos, Bobbie, Drummer and Ashford..... I'm torn between wanting to see the reaction to the next episode and season four finale or maybe because it's very difficult but very important! I've said it before THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO OUR BELOVED SHOW ❤ Congratulations on 200k!!!
I totally relate to how difficult it is to choose a top 5 favorite characters. when all is said and done, I landed with. 1. Amos Burton 2. Camina Drummer 3. Bobby Draper 4. Chrisjen. Avasarala 5. Josephus Miller. Honorable mentions to, Naomi Nagata Klaes Ashford Yam seng, setaras ✌️
Awesome analysis. The pre and post-show discussions really show your insights in storytelling and attention to detail. Just binged your Expanse review, and have to say, it was a pleasure re-watching with you two. May I suggest Justified, Severance, and Fleabag?
This episode was exhausting, you're right. A truly amazing episode and a wonderful reaction, had a good cry along with you. Can't wait to watch the last two
Oh my gosh when i first saw that last scene it gave me bloody chills, this show is so fantastic and i really want it to continue :( (also great inspo for my D&D haha)
Looks like you got some good feels from this episode. With Drummer quitting and not joining Ashford and that long look.... yeah... Amos being so not himself and going a bit crazy... It was nice with the wins of the eye stuff and stablizing the Barb's orbit but you know it's not going to last. :p
54:52 Lol no it's just information classified by the Military. Sharing it publicly is illegal or even treason in some countries. She ain't out here trying to get Jail time, although leaking classified information carries a much harsher sentence so it's a hell of a gamble.
It's literally heartbreaking.. Glad I'm not the only one who saw the drink as "They're about to kill him" Pretty sure I was sobbing the first time I watched it.. it still makes me cry. Also, after the Really fucking creepy miller scene at the end. I think I stopped watching season 4 for like a month. I was totally freaked out
i love your reactions i love how you embraced these characters . if there is only one book you'll read read nemesis game. you will learn a ton of things about the roci crew. i recommend the audiobooks they are top notch.
After watching hundreds of their videos, I've gotten so used to Lola and Milena's accents at this point, that I often forget that English isn't their first language... until moments like "simultaneously" happen that is! Lol
Avasarala dressing is like a knight donning his armor. The Marine general was a coward. If he had strong objections to the mission, he should have made them at the meeting. Instead, he stayed quiet and just hoped to get lucky. Amos had told Alex that he always planned to choose his own death. Being blind and threatened by slugs was the worst way he could die. I don't think anyone had ever told Amos "I can't lose you." Remember in the second episode of the season, they made a great display of Holden taking his cancer meds. That was a Chekov's Gun. When Avasarala was talking to Holden's mother, she mentioned that her son's death was just a card she played. Marco and Drummer have very similar views in some way. Both of them are ship-born Belters who don't see any future for Belters like them in the Ring planets. I think they're wrong, though I'd expect the Ring planets to have asteroids as well.
Ya, the General pisses me off. He knew exactly what could happen - that's the risk soldiers in this universe take just stepping out of the airlock. If he had qualms about risking his men's lives to bring in a terrorist alive, or suspected that it might have been a trap the time to air that was BEFORE the order was given. The time to say that was when presenting the options. And the civilians? The other option would have murdered them anyway, without confirming the target was even there.
I'm looking forward to you two finishing the series with books 7, 7.5, 8, 9, 9.5. And when you do, post a video discussing it. Doesn't have to be for each book or anything elaborate. Just a nice little discussion on the overall series and/or some highlights from the final books of this epic space saga.🙏
One thing i genuinely never understood about mars "dying". it wouldnt. it would merely shift ownership to the belters, who couldnt survive on the new worlds, due to gravity. mars is 48% earth's gravity. most belters live in space stions with 20-35% earths gravity through artificial spin gravity means, such as tyco station. and mars has marine training facilities to simulate full 1g. if Martians were too leave, that would be a perfect place for belters to become stronger to survive full gravity down the line. a place for belters to live in an environment of consistent gravity thats bearable, yet still stronger than what they would typically experience, with facilities in place to develop their bodies to withstand full 1g. that and there would be tons of room for belters, for a planet that once homes 4-9billion (depending on if you take books or tv show as population canon) compared to the less than 200million belters.
Because there are planets that have all that with actual biosphere, where you don't have to live in underground tunnels and surface water isn't generations away.
Good post, but Mars has 38 percent of Earth's gravity, and not 48 percent. Belters can handle it, just fine, and it's a considerably better option than most of the choices they've got.
I've been following you two since thrones, watching when our tastes overlap in shows. Season 4, if I had to rank them, I would rank last. It's still quality and by the time you get to it, you are invested in the cast and storylines. Great job you two. Hopefully as you wrap up The Expanse we will journey into House of Dragons. 👍🤞
Using emotion in her benefits was the right thing to do, people think can be all great person are delusional, like never killed ,if someone is about to kill an innocent people and you are capable of killing him anybody will do it. Avasarela do what necessary giving the conditions
this general is disingenuous... this is the same guy giving her options. this was one of the option he gave.. he's just as much responsible for the misstep.
McCourt's actions never make sense to me, no matter how many times I watch S4. In fact, a lot of Avasarala's story this season has some weaker writing.
Hello, you do a spectacular job, I love your reactions, I am already your fan, could you react to the Korean movie Train to Busan, please, greetings from Ciudad de Mérida
Aside from the lack of bobby, the lack of avasarala this season really grinds my gears. and the times that she does appear, its basically as caricature of her character from early seasons, and she just goes around saying "fuck" a lot, but she really has no major role to play. Yeah, season 4 feels weird and unfocused on the first view. But once you've seen the full story it just holds up so well
@@androkguz This is absolutely the "setup" season
@@TerminatorJuice i've watched Expanse like 7 times now :D

That's probably why he went off on Holden when he touched his shoulder, interesting.
Was this in a Novella?
@@wirlwend yep. Its called "the churn" and it covers some of amoss childhood

I believe this is the first time that we've seen/heard Drummer laugh out loud. She's always such a stoic warrior with a cynical sense of humor, but never laughs. It was great to see.
The fact that Cara was told she couldn’t use her own laugh because it was too happy for Drummers character lol

I love you girls, from crying for Ashford and Amos to "Eat a *ick!" when Miller appeared.
I despised Ashford in the books. The TV show and actor gave him so much depth and nuance where I understand his reasons for each thing he does.
Congrats on 200k🎉

Yes, I agree, it wasn't very clear that she was making an error when she ordered the siege. I didn't understand why her husband was so angry with her.
So loving your reactions. This season gets better each time I rewatch it and I really can't wait to see the next 2 eps with you.
After this episode specifically, Holden solidified himself as my #1 on this show and Amos my close 2nd.
Phenomenal episode, and lots of well-earnt tears.

You two are always so pessimistic about the fates of characters, LOL.
The general suggest the plan and didn't push back. That's on him if he thought it was that risky and said nothing.
