      From experienced pest control in my area I’ve learned that they can and will sting through the bee suit, It’s no protection at all!! I’ve these wasps being protective of dog poop in my back yard, I’m terrified of going out there, even now at 19:30 their on it, yikes 😳

    I open a can of white meat chicken and stir in a tube of Frontline for cats or dogs. I place the can in a cage made from chicken wire or something similar. Then, I place the cage near the nest (in the evening). The hornets (works for yellow jackets as well) will go for the meat and bring it back to the nests to feed the larvae. The Frontline will spread throughout the nest the way it spreads on pets, and usually within 48 hours, the entire nest is dead.

      Thank you for sharing what you did here. I just did this this morning before I left for work and it seems that most of the nest in our tree close to our house is already dead. I really didn’t want to have to spray/deal with possibly getting stung and this was a very affordable solution for my family.

      @deanevangelista6359 I have a hornets nest is in my van about after about 2 week of not driving it. I had this couple years ago and they build a nest deep in the hinge part of the door jam through shrunken rubber seal all around the doors. They have completely taken over the entire van including the engine compartment. I want to use your method. I'm debating between trying to put it just inside the van through the side door in the evening vs just under one side of the van which might be safer to place. Do you think they will find it under the van? Also you said about 48 hrs to work. Is that from the time you first put it out or after they find it and really get into it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

      So I have bald-faced hornets that keep coming back to my yard daily. I can't find the nest. And they're hovering around my chicken coop as well. I set this trap up. But do you bring it in at night? How long do you leave it out? Thank you!

    That Striker spray is $18 for 15oz can with .01% Prallethrin
    Black Flag Wasp & Hornet Killer is less then $5 for 14oz can, with .02% Prallethrin.
    I went with the $5 stuff and ran like hell after spraying each application a few times thruout the day.

    I just got my ass handed to me by them..was mowing and didnt know there was a nest in this bush. I mowed around it once and all good..but second time..they were on me..there were so many on my head i heard the buzzing..i ended up in urgent care the next day. Gave me a shot and that was over a week ago..i had to go back today because i was still broke out in hives from them..now on 7 days of steroids and a bunch of cortisone cream. And another 7-Day of steroids for backup these are hornets from the hood. They mean business

      OMG! Do you live in the US? I think that’s the same type nest that i happened upon on the side of my house yesterday. 2 came out i saw they were flying & black but i was too busy running to see if they even had a face to see the color! I do not discriminate at all-all black, white faced, yellow body, bald head, bearded face- all them little hostile wasps can get a gallon of gas on them tonight.

    • @aaron-dd5zr

      Do you have some friends of family? Each take a side of the house and look for bee traffic. They the Hornets love elevation , thick bushes , houses under the eves. And good trees with alot of leaves. Protection from rain. Yellow Jackets love the ground near slopes, roots of bushes, also thick bushes, sometimes also under the eves of your house.

    • @DrHarryT
      @DrHarryT 3 місяці тому +1

      @@aaron-dd5zr I don't live there anymore so it doesn't matter. In the forest you have 100-foot pine trees separated by only a few feet with a constant blanket of them. Yes somewhere way up in one of those trees hangs the Baldfaced Hornets nests and of course there are multiples of them separated for territories.
      It's not like you can call you friends over for a hornet hunting party because the hornets don't travel in swarms, the cruise around individually and do dive bombing attacks and then rapidly disappear into the forest.
      I thought about spraying some UV dust on them and then going around at night [when they are asleep in the nest] with a UV spotlight hoping that they would get some of the dust on the entrance at the bottom of the nest.

      @@DrHarryT I do landscaping. Trimming bushing, low lying limbs, pull weeds Etc. They are not so easy to spot, especially White Jackets, (bald face) hornets. They are masters of blending in those nests. I have seen first hand nests as big as big flower pot. If they are up that high. Don’t even bother with it.

      I have a 3 year strong nest on my soffit. We have just ignored them. The dogs even pounce at them sometimes. We have at least 100 hovering the grass in our yard every morning. I’ve liked watching them build their nest. Lol bald face hornets actually recognize and remember who is a threat, and who isn’t. The only reason I am here is because I have to get my roof replaced after some nasty hail, and I don’t want the roofers to find my hornet guard dogs ;) lol

    How do these react when you do the bag trick? Does it keep them away or make them want to gentrify my garage?
    (Bag trick is where you take a small brown paper bag, stuff it w plastic bags a bit of gravel for weight and make it look like a nest )
    Its supposed to deter wasps and other bees apparently. Juat dknt know how each type would react.

    • @robertgworek2497
      @robertgworek2497 Рік тому +2

      In Europe you have even ruskies, but that's not the point. There are hornets in US as well. Bald-Faced Hornets belongs to vespinae, so yes, they are not true hornets, although, they are very nasty... They can do something that hornets can't - they can shoot venom straight into the eyes, which is another level of being nasty.
