    I've become increasingly convinced over the last 20 years that a Skid steer is the Most useful piece of equipment ever developed for ground work that doesn't involve moving mountains. They are just extremely versatile and the number of attachments made for them just keeps growing.

  • @mikebultema2536
    @mikebultema2536 2 роки тому +38

    Grapple bucket definitely allows you more lift capacity and better traction as the skid steer stays flatter on the tracks. Grapple attachment seems like it would be good for selective cleaning in forested areas.

    • @MRBenchwork

      I think it would be a brilliant attachment for a mini excavator

    • @MrCrabs231
      @MrCrabs231 2 роки тому

      @@MRBenchwork They make them for mini excavators, cotontop3 uses one over on his channel, though his seems like a really heavy duty brand. They've been used on mini's for a while by people doing smaller tree work.
      Small grapples like this definitely have a niche. not just on mini's, but skid steers and tractors too. I think the mini would definitely handle one the best, but the if distance you're moving them is very far then it might not be as good of an option because of how slow they are.

    • @amosbackstrom5366
      @amosbackstrom5366 Рік тому

      They work really well for dragging whole trees through tight spots and feeding a chipper.
      We have a mini skid with a grapple attachment and it's a perfect setup for residential tree work.
      With the grapple bucket you have to cut all the logs to fit through the gate, with the attachment you just drag them behind you as long as you want.
      It all depends on what you're doing, for wide open land clearing nothing beats a full sized skid with a grapple bucket.

    great addition to accessories in lumber work . now if you found a second hand chipper , you could grind and fire the chips back for trail or just compost assistances. Spring clean ...check ...summer clean and gather fire wood ...check . Great job.

    I’ve mostly seen those kind of grapples on mini excavators. They’re great for building rock walls!

    I agree Andrew. That grapple has one purpose and thats it. That grapple bucket on the other hand is awesome.
