I was I think 14 when I discovered Kate Bush. I'm Israeli and Kate and her music represented so many beautiful things to me. I was an anglophile anyhow in those years. I remained a hard core fan till my mid 20s. I even managed to find where she lived in one of my visits to England and threw a note over the high wall fence of what was her house then. It was so strange to find a letter from England many months later in my post office box then in Tel Aviv containing nothing but an official piece of paper inviting me to join her fan club. It wasn't addressed to me personally. It was just a formal invitation that I guess they handed out to people coming to her shows etc. I was disappointed that there was nothing personal in it and I was never one to join anyone's fan club. Still it was a proof to me that she did get the letter that I threw over her fence. She probably thought I was a crazy weirdo :) And it was probably kind of intimidating for her to know that a random fan found out where she lived. As I grew older her music and she stopped having this huge effect they had on me as a teenager and young woman. I guess that's only natural. Artists have such a huge impression on us when we're younger and the adult world and its possibilities seem so magical and sensual to us.
This is priceless for Kate Bush fans ... first time I've seen any video version (not live performance) of this song ... one of my favourites from "The Kick Inside" (1978).

It is because it comes from the U-Matic original videotape. The 6 Efteling songs posted by fans are blurred to the extreme. They are 4th or 5th generation VHS copies of copies. This means TopPop has THE BEST RECORDED VERSION of the Efteling Show. The image is sharper. It may not be perfect, but it is the most perfect of all the available options.
It was then in 1978 also the opening (10 May) of the haunted castle, 2 days later on 12 May was there the Kate Bush Efteling Special. The special was 20 minutes of 6 musicvideo's in the Efteling. If i'm right, she was then sleeping in the Hotel De Swaen in Oisterwijk. The haunted castle is after 40 years still in the Efteling, with the same show, only outside the castle is a little bit different.

I'm from the netherlands, don't live there any more, so now looking at the country from a distance, they're really good at destroying historic buildings left and right, they're really into anything new. i am happy that is changing now with new generations actually giving a darn about older buildings, but even now it's pretty bad there. and then I feel bad about myself about not being there to protest it or doing something about it! But I have been living in california for a long time now..but yes, so sad and incomprehensible that they're planning on demolishing this beautiful haunted house. many people in the netherlands don't really care one way or another about this so not sure what could be done about it

I've been to the Netherlands twice or three times and for I watched Kate's performance at Efteling, I wanted to come back there even more badly so I could go to the amusement park and go everywhere where she performed, not to mention that the house itself seems to be a great attraction. It makes me more than just angry. It's all gone now! I have watched the building being build in 1977 and was there just 2 weeks after the opening / Filming of the Kate Bush videos. Haven't seen this magic place since 1988 - ( I don't live in the Netherlands anymore. ) These young kids in management don't know what they destroyed.
