I've watched you since you did the CDT, you have met so many people. All strangers at first, and yet you hold their stories. Perhaps your contribution to our world is exactly what you're doing, telling their stories. The storyteller in every race is a position of integrity and honor. You can hold those stories in or let them out in a book? You've made the journeys but we've been priviledged to follow online...but what of those other folks that don't have access? You could write a book of the stories you've collected along the way. I follow you because you take us with you...day by day. You're a treasure young Lady.
Thank you for your kind reflections. ❤️ I've thought about the book idea. And maybe one day. For whatever reason it doesn't seem right for right now. I think one day, it'll be clear to me exactly what story I want to tell in that format, and then it will be time to write it down. For now I do very much enjoy being able to share this way, day by day. 🙂

All of us on this side of the screen feel like we're there with you. We laugh with you, and cry with you, go through the struggles with you, and enjoy your triumphs. You give us so much, and in return you look back into an empty, lonely, lifeless camera. I wish that you could feel the way that you make us feel, when you take us along on your journeys. It means a lot to many of us. It gives me hope that I'll get back out on trial and find happiness again in this world.
I'm glad you feel like you are there with me. That's honestly the goal, and it makes the camera not seem as lifeless as you'd expect. I imagine I'm talking to a friend or even myself, and it feels like the stories are heard and held. Thank you for being a part of that.
Jenn I know it's been a couple months since you posted these but thank you so much for sharing your story of the interaction you had with the older gentlemen. So beautifully said. Was it a bare bear butt? Lol. Pro tip... if you struggle throwing up a line to hang a bear bag, you can use an improvised slingshot to shoot up the rock.
I primarily used apps on my phone for mapping. Most of the time I used the MST app, which I think no longer exists. However the MST is now on FarOut which is a very popular app for thruhiking. Alltrails, OnX backcountry, and Gaia are all other mapping apps I've used.

Haha, yes they were mostly just silent with big eyes. But maybe one day they will! They're certainly off to a good start already.
