    The benefits for a f2.8 zoom lens is the auto focus is better then it will be with a f4 lens when you are in low light.

    Great video. I agree with the 35/85 combo. The primes just make a more pleasing image than the zooms also.

      I’ve also just added a 3rd lens to this😮‍💨 but that’s all I can say right now!
      Thanks mate!! I tried using a zoom at a wedding the other day, 10 mins in to the day and I grabbed the primes again 😂 i like trying new things sometimes but yeah… wasn’t the right wedding for it

    Just purchased the tamron 28-75 2.8 for 450 dollars. You can’t beat that quality for the price

    moved from zooms to primes this summer and use the sigma 24,35,85 f1.4 best thing i did just need to decide on getting either a second hand A9 or a new A7IV

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Рік тому +2

      I’d go for the A7iv. A9 is great but A7iv is more than enough imo

    Nice lense , i use a 24-70 2.8 for the ceremony and the 85 1.4 and 35 1.4 for the Wedding Portraits.
    I think the 24-70 is better for ceremony because you can set the focus on the moement not on what a lens i use now.

    Maybe you should try tamron 35-150 f2-2.8?) One body, one lens and your favourite focal distances)

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Рік тому +1

      I did actually consider buying one last year and selling my 24-70. However, the 24-70 is lighter and smaller than the Tamron. And i wanted a couple of lenses with a wider aperture such as f1.4.
      I will say, i’ve never used the Tamron so can’t comment first hand how it performs but for weddings, it’s not going to suit my requirements. But if you had just a single body then sure it could definitely work for you

    The eternal debate. I would say we should probably have the 2.8 zooms + the prime. The question is: which should you buy first in the road to becoming a professional? I would say in financial terms the primes make more sense, for 2 primes + 2 bodies you can get by easy. The Zooms make more sense if you are starting out, easier to shoot, but they are more expensive. Decisions.

    do u use 2 camera bodies? primes are conveneient if u have dedicated camera bodies, for starters (and those who have low budget) isn’ the 24-70 a more practical choice?

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Рік тому +1

      100%, 2 bodies all the time. However when i’m doing small shoots for couples i sometimes just use one.
      A 24-70 is certainly more practical however i’d always recommend a 2.8 as you need the light

    When shooting Fuji, I used to love my 90mm F2 (135mm equivalent). That lens was really great and I was using it much more often than my 56mm 1.2 (85mm equiv). Partly because autofocus on the 56 was slow and not accurate. With the A7R5, an 85mm or something really close is going to be in my list down the line. And I’ll shoot in APSC mode if I want the 135mm focal length. 🙂

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Рік тому +1

      That’s exactly it, there’s the odd occasion i need a little more than 85mm too but like you said i can just crop. There’s benefits to both lenses but for a lot of situations i find the 135 a little too much. Depends entirely on the situation though.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@DannyBligh Any progress with the TC 1.4x?

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Рік тому

      Some, i use it when the conditions are just right and i’ve been getting fairly good results. It’s not 100% still but a damn sight better than it was 😂 was out this evening with the 100-400 but didn’t bother with the TC as i was shooting after a warm day and even at 400mm the thermals are really bad

      I set AEL button to trigger APSC/Super35 mode. Feels like magic having two lenses in one.

    I had the Sony 85 f1.8 and did not like it. The CA was terrible and the photos never looked that much different to my 70-200 f2.8 at 100mm. It was my least used lens. I sold it and got the Sigma 85 f1.4 Art and wow what a difference, zero CA pin sharp and fast to focus. So the 85 prime went from my least used to my most used lens over night. I shot over 1300 weddings in 23 years and owned some nice glass but the sigma 85 is my all time favourite. Only downside the lens is covered in small chips from use where as my GM lenses look like new.

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Рік тому +1

      Yeahhhh, i don’t mind it but would love an upgrade. Just not sure which 85 to get yet

      @@DannyBligh sigma 85f1.4 is stunning just a shame it’s made from such soft metal. Mine has 20-30 little chips in it and yet my GM glass treaded the same is fine. Never had a lens mark like it in 23 years

    sony 85mm f 1.8 has faster response when it comes to autofocusing rather the f1.4 gmaster.

    Is there big difference between 35 mm or 40 mm ?

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Місяць тому

      Not really. You’d notice it side by side though. I have a 55mm and my business partner has a 50. I’d use either
