Cheers if you can.
I grew up in Conisbrough, we used to play on the viaduct and surrounding woods many years ago. The river has much improved since those days, which is great to see. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. It’s also good to see the industrial waste lands regenerating. The wooden building you were admiring was part of the failed Earth Centre project a few years ago ps the graffiti on the bridges is far less explicit that when I was young
It's great these trips bring back so many good memories for people. All of them playing outside. Thanks coming along. Lots more to see. Stay tuned.
Lovely evening spent catching up with you ; )
Next one's out now and thankyou for watching.
Morning Will, that had everything. I work for Architects/Structural engineers so I love all the bridges, beautiful rivers then finished up on a fabulous golf course. Thank you. Best wishes Christine x
That river Don into Sheffield is beautiful. That golf course had the views didn't it? I had to show that. Thankyou so much for the lovely and interesting comment. Have a good day.
that was a lovely tall bridge , & all those arches , all done by hand , incredible , glad you enjoyed your golf , ive seen some dutch barges go down in the cabin like that .
What an incredible piece of engineering and all that back breaking work. Wow. The golf was beautiful with such great views. That was a posh cabin. Thankyou again for joining me Lori.
Hi Will, I'm a liveaboard in Stourport so rely on you to travel the system for me. Just wanted to say how much I look forward to your videos during the week. Your joy of life and silliness are such a tonic...your love of golf in this clip is such an example of that...so film anything you love because we can then love it too xxx
That's such a lovely comment. Thankyou Julia. I'm writing this sat on my roof cruising. The weather is perfect. Thankyou for watching.
Gorgeous flowers
I know. I wouldn't normally see all this. Cheers Phil
This is lovely, wish I had a row boat I'd be down on the river every day, when it's low of course lol
I know. Just chilling and rowing up and down. What a lovely day out. Cheers again Phil
Hi Will, That Hotel is the Pastures Lodge Hotel, Was moored their last Sat/Sun the food is second to none, those Trials Bikes were on a Man made Trials Track and closes at 6pm, pity I missed you, take care Pal👍
Oh i thought it must be something like that. That hotel looked lovely. I saw two boats moored up. It must of been you there. Take care Mark.
I grew up near Rotherham, South Yorks and in those days the river Don and river Rother were massively polluted by industrial waste. It is quite miraculous how the rivers have recovered to even support fish. By the way, that butterfly you filmed looked like a 'small tortoiseshell' to me.
The rivers and canals are full of fish and wildlife. Very clean. When I grew up the air was filthy and we had to wear a scarf because of smog. We've come along way. Thanks for the butterfly. Cheers Keith
How lovely those locks look along that river. Can’t believe it’s so quiet. That aqueduct looked amazing it’s surprising what you see travelling the canals. Great vlog take care.
It's a stunning part of the world and a great time to do it Caroline. Thankyou again for commenting and watching.
In the year 2145 he is still boating! Great intro Will, love it!
Like your golf, your vlogs help me relax, so thank you.
Great song that. My golf doesn't help me relax. ha ha
@@NarrowboatWill the focus, the focus!
I have close connections with all of this area and never knew the River Don was so beautiful. The fine railway viaduct is completely new to me. That's what going everywhere in cars does for you. I know every inch of the A630 and no inches of the Don. The video is an eyeopener.
It's a very surprising river. I thought it would be all built up industrial. One of the nicest rivers i've seen. Take care
Great vlog Will, really pretty stretch of the river. Much respect for those lockeepers for keeping the gardens so beautifully landscaped. (pass that on if you see one pls)
I will. They're so clean and tidy. I love this type of cruising. Not many locks and only one finger needed. Lovely. Cheers again Glynn
Oh wow Will, that aqueduct / viaduct was stunning …. Some beautiful scenery there 😃🏴☠️
Hello Mrs. It's a beautiful river. I thought it would be a dump. Glad to be wrong. Have a swashbuckling evening Mrs Pirate.
This guy puts the miles in. I first saw him in Oxford few years ago.
I loved Oxford. Not the floods but the city. I was there so long I joined the gym and library. Ha ha cheers for watching.
Another lovely video full of fantastic scenery 👍🇨🇦
It was beautiful. I bet you have some stunning place in your country. Thankyou for watching Kate.
Can't wait for the commentary on the Laughterton course you did recently......😂😂
Ha ha it was a laugh as well. Got my arse kicked by two old Jockeys.
A racetrack or scrotes on their nicked bikes Will? It's Mexborough it's full of scroats but if you know where to go there are some fascinating places full of history around their Will. PS I fast-forwarded the golf bit sorry.
I was really surprised about this place. A fantastic river and city. 🫵👍👍
Been to conisborough viaduct awesome video buddy 💙
Cheers for watching and the comment. 🫵👍
Great video Will, the footbridge you went under was used by coal miners at Cadeby colliery as the canteen and pit head baths were on one side of the river and the pit was on the other. Now on the old pit site is Kingswood a sort of out wood bound centre for residential school visits but before that was the failed earth centre the strange looking building you pointed out was the reception etc for the earth centre.
That's interesting info. I will try to remember it on my way back. Thankyou Maurice
Hi Will, your butterfly was another Tortoise shell and the wildlife shot of the bird looked very much like a Goldfinch. Not quite sure if your stunning bridge is 200ft, though very impressive, not sure it's as high as Pontcysyllte aqueduct and that's 126ft. Great to hear you use my word 'splendiferous. Take care mate.
I went under the Wales aqueduct this seemed taller in comparison. Perhaps because I was on the river. I didn't have my tape with me to measure. Ha ha A Very good word buddy.
That was me you're welcome for the coffee ☕ mate 👍
Cheers Clayton.
We need more rain videos!
Rain videos? Don't worry when it starts raining again it won't stop. I'm enjoying this sunshine at present. You take very good care today.
Worked on the exol pride when she was built late 70’s . Then called Humber Pride . Built in Hull at Yorkshire dry dock . Seems in a different lifetime now 😀
Wow and it's still going. I wonder how much longer. Cheers kevin.
So jealous of the barge life. That golf course is just up the road from me, but I know I'd rather be on the canal/river...
I love both. Canal next to a golf course. It doesn't happen very often but when it does I moor up and play. If it's not to expensive of course. Ha take care.
A good moaning is coming to you from Officer Crabtree!
Those locks are a walk in the park for singlehanded boaters! Any favourite canals for that reason? Nice to see how you play golf. Cheers Will!
I love these locks. It's so easy. Love my golf when I'm playing well. Thanks for watching.
Great video, I know a lot of the area you were showing. As for the Grange golf course I was driving by a few years ago and noticed a few bushes and trees were on fire. I called in to let someone know and was stopped by a complete knobhead who said that I could not come in the clubhouse wearing training shoes. When I tried to tell him why I was there he said he didn’t care and repeated that I still wasn’t coming in. I turned around, got back in my car and carried on my journey. On the way back I drove past and saw loads of fire engines and the fire had really taken hold. I had the last laugh. What a brainless dick he was, he should have listened.
What an idiot. I went back to get my 9 iron I left on a course and I wasn't dressed for golf but when I walked into the golf shop to collect my club the stares I got from other golfers like I was going to Rob them or something. Such snobbery sometimes. Thanks for the great story Tony.
The boat Inn pub floods every year
I'm not surprised. Must be a nightmare for them. Cheers Terry
i bet you love those electric lock gates, i thought you were going to loose W.W. at one point. x
Yeah I love um. So easy to use and massive as well. A bit different going into Sheffield. Stay tuned Sally.
As impressive as that viaduct is, ours here in Folkestone is higher. The highest brick built viaduct in the world, no less. 😝
This one's about 120 feet. It looked much higher going under but so impressive. I'm inwardly impressed but outwardly very calm. ha
Gainsborough Viaduct -two statues of who ?Margaret Thatcher ,TedHeath ,the choice is endless .Growing up in a city has its advantages like you can read the pitfalls and avoid them 🙂
Ha ha that's a horrible thought. God and his best mate Jebus. Yes I understand about the cities. Cheers Tony.
Hi Will 10:30 ish here
At night?
Night Kat
Amazing, south Yorkshire. Actual buildings. No troglodytes. Who could have constructed such structures?🖕
I will do some history on the way back so we will find out. I don't know yet. Ha ha cheers Paul.
Three quarters of dog owners are not fit to own a dog, they are not in control of the dog the dog controls them. Do you find you talk to yourself a lot more since you have been on the boat?
I love dogs but some owners get a kick out of scaring people through their dogs. It's bloody sick. Since vlogging I narrate my life in my head. Ha ha did I write that or say it ? Ha ha Cheers Lewis.
If you love the view, colours, rainbow so much why say, "Blimey"? Blimey is a corruption of "Blind me". Best not to risk it?
That's interesting. I won't stop saying it because it's what I grew up with but I will remember it. Cheers Dave
