As a retired maternity nurse, this woman’s lack of basic knowledge about the spreading of germs is so very distressing!! At the different hospitals that I had worked at over my career, volunteers had an orientation that included information about germs and how they spread. Once while I was getting ready to get on the visitors elevator, a young woman with two children got off to go visit a new mom that was her friend. Oh my!!! ........ her kids had huge chickenpox pustules!! I stopped them immediately and told her that they had to leave NOW!!! She got very angry and told me that her kids didn’t have a fever, so she was going to go see her friend. I yelled to my unit secretary to call security STAT and stood guard, until she was escorted out of the hospital. She wouldn’t believe that her kids were contagious.
THANK YOU for doing this. People are so entitled and selfish, how can you even do this knowing you’re risking the lives of babies that are too young to get vaccinated? Cuddos to you for standing your ground and protecting your patients.
She should be sneezing into her elbow. While sneezing into your hand is a whole lot better than not covering your mouth at all it is still not the best practice. Imagine all the people and equipment that hand with germs will now come in contact with
To be honest, I am repelled by the thoughts of people hugging and kissing other people's babies (not close relatives), and worst of all, they might be sick when they are doing that.
Agree totally. I have never had children, but even so, I don't like to hold other people's children, especially a newborn for that same reason. I wouldn't want other people doing that to me if I did have children of my own. A baby is very delicate and their immune system is not ready to be so exposed.

You can get so many things from the look on House's face. He knows how that woman is going to react when she learns she's responsible for the death of a baby, and it's going to haunt her for the rest of her life.
Also you know that he's going to be the one that brings her to Cuddy and get's the joy of seeing her face when he gives her the answer that's been right under their noses, yet only he solved it.
Yes, she went ahead and created the Echo 11 virus for this specific moment to kill only one child.
As it should
Yeah, I would be overjoyed, she SHOULD feel guilty for the rest of her life. People that stupid should be illegal.
House has the neatest handwriting of any doctor I've ever met.
How tf did that lady get a job in a hospital looking after the most at risk immuno compromised patients without a single ounce of infectious training.
Living in 2021 really opens your eyes to how gross people are (in terms of hygiene).
She's a volunteer!
Even volunteers are normally trained.
@@trevorbluesquirrel899terrible excuse.
If it took 2021 to realize it then you were a part of the problem
I Volunteered at a hospital gift shop in 2015 and even I got basic training and how to use hospital disinfectants (and tb test and all my shots)
that old woman is going to get sued so hard her great-grandkids will still be making payments
"Her GRANDCHILDREN will need lawyers" ~Uncle Phil
The episode ended on a fairly high note, but feelsbad for that elderly volunteer. She seems like a nice ol granny volunteering her old bones to bring smiles, but accidentally killed one and risked many others. The guilt would kill her
how many we kill via covid just because we didnt wear mask or antivax
@@SheryAwan123 Speak for yourself. Some of us did our jobs with that.

They also only work for the 1st 15 to 20m after that they have to be re sterilized and replaced.

I love how the mum still has a belly. It's so realistic
I know the episode was probably running out of time, so they couldn’t show House drag that old lady into the labs, but I still believe that’s what happened. I can’t imagine House would allow her to go about her day like that.
She needs to get fired ASAP on this imaginary show
I'm with ya on that!
Yeah, especially when there was a health crisis, a non essential staff can't show up sick.
Technically, it isn't an imaginary show it's an imaginary hospital.
And yes, I'm fun at parties!!
Its a real show bro smh
I think she was just a volunteer handing out teddy bears
Its honestly the best feeling in the world when you get to tell the parents thay their child is doing better and will be totally healthy. I csn still remember the girls face when i went to say goodbye to her and i leaned down and she handed me a rose as a thank you. It was the first time this happened and totally unexpected but still it meant alot to me then and now. Children can teach you lessons without even having to say anything.
Literal chills during the nurses’ cinematic scene.
Basically that woman killed a kid.
Didn't 2 or 3 die?
Yeah she killed them all, but I think they wouldnt gain anything from accusing her. The damage was done and she'd probably felt bad until she dies. Although she should be reminded. *if this was real world situation and not tv series ofc*
@@strongeronplants The bright side is that maybe she wouldn't feel bad for that long of a time
She didn't mean to.

Don’t go to work while you’re sick. Simple as that. Could literally save lives.
Even in a normal hospital setting, that behaviour of still going to work, knowing youre around infants, while sick is disgusting
This is the definition of the worst things happen with the best intentions.
Gotta love a doc who pays attention to details. So many just don't really care
who ever keeping this channel alive ... THANK YOU !
Good grief! She is taking her kids with chickenpox out in public.. in a hospital?? What a moron!
Lady: "Can I help you?"
House: "Not with that nasty virus you can't."
5:44 this show was ahead of its time
Not only corona spreads like that, there a thousands other viruses that spread like that dumbass
Jan Jurada chill out dude, he was just saying that its super relevant to corona. It’s obvious that things spread like that
Y'know, most Viruses spread the same, this show was not ahead of its time, it's with the time, maybe even slightly behind
She should be sneezing into her elbow. While sneezing into your hand is a whole lot better than not covering your mouth at all it is still not the best practice. Imagine all the people and equipment that hand with germs will now come in contact with
@@gonewildchannel Someone is a little testy today lol
Surprised House didn’t tell the old lady to wash her hands
me: see's rotovirus get written down
also me: _points_ Hey I remember almost dying from that one
my brain: it's a classic
Me watching him write RSV at the bottom: “Hey I almost died of that in 1994 at six months old and got permanently damaged lungs as a result!”
“Haha! I almost died to that one!” Will honestly never be not funny to me in any situation.
What a mood! Best way to treat it, laugh!
Glad to know having conversations with yourself is not as uncommon as I think it is.
Me whenever pneumothorax is mentioned.
I love those moments of House's microscopic super-vision.
You are so right.
Old lady: Can I Help You?
House: Yeah, you're fired!
In biology today I leant about lupus... I was under the impression lupus was a person before

It’s never lupus.
“Have Cuddy get stool samples from the whole staff…”
Imagine getting that memo.

I always wanted to know what happened next. What does House say to her. What does Cuddy do? This episode is one of many that leave me wanting more.
He says nothing, the episode ends with what u saw in this clip. I just watched the whole series twice recently on amazon video. You should check it out if u have the service, it’s got all the episodes
@GearsofPizza83 same
Now I'm never getting the baby a teddy until after it's washed

Echovirus is very very common. The "common cold" is anything from an Echovirus to a Rhinovirus and the symptoms is always runny nose, sneezing and coughing. It is mild to adults but very deadly to infants.

you would think those plush bears would be sanitized and placed in a clear bag before being delivered to new born babies .
Yep, on the other hand outlaw the practice! Give them a coupon instead.
I find it hard to believe that, even in pre covid times, hospital staff- volunteers included- would be allowed to have such bad hygiene, especially when going anywhere near a maternity ward.

Lololol when CMV is part of the "TORCH" infections that were put on the NO list, but CMV is a "yes"
There are tons of exceptions in every rule. If CMV is in the No, but the other more than four causatives are included, you wouldn't write TOCH, people use memory techniques and the word torch is one of them.

House goes through more expo markers than a single high school.
Wearing a mask on newborns is a must in any hospital setting. House is a infectious disease expert and he is on full contact tracing mode. Hospital outbreaks are fairly common especially on pediatric patients.
