@@SomeGadgetGuy Yes Juan, they’re still rather a cult following the One Plus brand. I’ve yet to see anyone with a One Plus phone in London. The trouble with One Plus is, you’re never sure what you’re going to get from one series to the next. The only certainty is super fast charging. But just out of interest, I am starting to see more people with Pixels here.
It's funny how when companies spend more on advertising, they seem to sell more phones. It's a shame for the OP narrative, that so many reviewers got OFF the train on the 7 Pro. From 8 - 10, we saw the most consistent streak of truly premium phones from OP, and they were still sold at prices undercutting SamApple. The 11 was a pricing step back, but the 12 looks to properly rejoin that previous progress. It's gonna crush as a "plus" option against iPhone 15 and S24.
I sold my OP Open today so i could jump on preorders for the 12 this month. It was my first foldable and realized Im just not a foldable guy, but the 12 will be perfect. If the cameras are remotely similar to the Open I may sell my Pixel 8 Pro as well. In the past i always kept a Pixel around for taking photos at improtsnt events but the Open never made me feel like i was missing out.
was surprised and relieved to finally hear someone calling out how tech journalism is so rigged in samsung and apple's favor. you can at least make some arguments for apple if youre a slave to their ecosystem (even though their tech is still usually behind the most premium android phones in a lot of ways), but samsung has been releasing the laziest most mid "premium" phones for the past few generations. there is nearly nothing worth upgrading to about the s23 from my s21, and based on leaks it doesnt look like the s24 will be much different. they release nearly the same phone as last year with the same 1080p middle hole punch display, same 8gb of ram, nearly unchanged design, same 25w charging, same 4000mah battery, same storage options, but with the newest snapdragon and marginally better cameras, at the same 800 dollars, and the media goes wild over it. oneplus has this beat in almost every way at the same price point or cheaper, but they never get nearly the amount of attention samsung does
I wouldn't have either Apple or Samsung products ever again. Hated the Apple culture, and Samsung never honors their warranties on anything they put out ever - personal experience with them and their lack of any support whatsoever, we replaced everything in this house that had a Samsung name on it - pretty sad when that included a bundle of kitchen appliances that started failing within the first week. OP has always been my fav phone.
As someone who doesn't really need a "pro" phone, the OP11 may be calling my name as an upgrade from my OP9 once the 12 is available and drops the proce of the 11. I love the cameras on my 9, but i really do hate not having a lens with a tighter focal length, its the only thing that makes me wish i had gone for the pro. Actually, the fact that the main camera sensor is so wide on smartphones is ki.d of weird. It made sense when we only had 1 camera, but now that they all have at least 2 the primary really should be closer to a 35mm equivalent, and everything wider than that can be taken care of by the 13mm ultra wide and a sensor crop if need be.
13mm ultra wide 35mm primary 85mm portrait 150-200mmish telephoto for "ultra" phones that want to go crazy That would be a really good camera configuration in my opinion
I'm having some issues with the oneplus 11. My back button doesn't respond and doesn't goes back sometimes. I press and press but it stays stuck on the same app/screen. I get black screen on UA-cam videos. It happens often. I've been seeing fast battery drain since the November update. I'm still on the November update.
How can you talk about charging speeds and do not talk about Power Delivery support? Almost all of laptops have USB-C Power Delivery charging support and it's very convenient to carry only one 65W charger. However oneplus doesn't support Power Delivery on the phone and charging brick. So you have to always carry two chargers or charge your phone at 10W.
That's why I still buy and use the warp 65 which does have 45W PD. Getting the warp 80 in the box is a nice perk included in the price. Affiliate link onepluscom.pxf.io/DKd7e5
The vooc thing is so stupid and inconvenient. My car charger and powerbank doesnt support it and oneplus doesnt support PD. I'm actually hesitant to buy it because of this.
I'll be getting the OP 12 when it comes available in the US. But I am not sure what else I will need for it besides a case, screen protectors, etc.....as my current model is the OP 5. That is the reason for the upgrade. I was going to get the OP 11 then decided to wait when I found out the OP 12 was coming soon. I have several of the Red Cables that I am assuming will work with this phone, but if anyone could give me any ideas on what else to consider getting for accessories, I would appreciate it in a comment to my post here. i am also thinking of getting the Buds 3, but I do have the Buds Z in white.. Thanks.
I was all but sold on one of these but then I started using AA in my car a ton and realized I need at least 512gb of storage for all my music and podcast eps for one but I also just became aware of the insane amount of phone I could get for just $650 with the new Red Magic 9 so I'm torn again. Oh add $100 because I need the 512gb variant but still.
I kept telling people that losing the sd card was a travesty, but here we are... The Chinese OP does come in 1TB versions, but i have no idea if the USA model will offer 1TB. I'm sporting the 512.
I don't read too much into the name 'ultra' anymore Vivo x100 pro changed my mind on the ultra branding... That phone can go up against any phone right now
Near as I can test, comparing the Vivo and the iQOO, the 8G3 will be a little better for gaming (thanks to stronger dev support), but nearly every CPU bound task I can throw at the two is a win for the Dimensity.
I bet its going to be 599 for the 12R and 699 for the 12 I bet money on it or possibly 499 for 12R and 599 for the 12. and goes up with storage. The nubia is sooooo competetive at 599 for a z60 ultra and the cameras and styles in the street mode are so good id rather have the nubia and i had the open
That's a shame. You're missing some REALLY good phones. They went more mainstream, and started making straight premium phones, but they still undercut Apple and Samsung for the price on these premium features. The OP12 is going to MERC the S24+. It's an EMBARRASSING comparison for the iPhone 15+. That deserves a little consideration.
I'm done with OnePlus probably forever. They were the Android brand that stopped me from jumping ship to iPhone. They had the best software of any Android OEM during the OP5-7 years more or less. Then things started going downhill and I found their software more unreliable and buggy to downright dogshit just one year after device launch. The iPhone ain't perfect, but I can depend on the software being consistent much more than I can with OP.
The worst people are those that say my phone is better than yours, and have no idea on what basis they are saying it.
iPhone 😂
You and I are on the same page lol. I said something very similar in the video
OnePlus is always a fun disruptor in that chat because both iPhone and Samsung knights really don't know as much about the tech as they think they do.

I feel the same way
Keeping my OnePlus open but I will be getting the OnePlus 12 as well.
I'd put it up against the ultra....why not same processor, more ram, bigger battery, faster charging speed, brighter screen, cheaper, etc
I'd like to see a return of blue and even red OnePlus phones.
12R should be coming in a blue like the 7T, but I REALLY want the Thunder Purple gradient from the 6T back.

@@SomeGadgetGuy is that the new z60 ultra? I think I remember hearing that it's main camera was a tighter field of view than is the usual.
