Excellent video with the best tips to help me with catching more fish I've been having a lot a trobble with telling when to strike thanks for sharing big like from me bud tight lines and catch you on the next video 🤝👌
So many euro videos of pros working the fish. Good to see one where the fish work the pro. Title should have been how to tie your laces and do your stretches when fishing swift water with 6x.
Love this video. Thanks. I have two questions, if you don't mind. 1. I assume that your two droppers aren't weighted. I find that unweighted nymphs have a tendency to wrap around the leader. How do you keep that from happening? For example, what knot are you using to construct your dropper tags, and what is the diameter of your tippet? 2. What is the lumbar pack that you're wearing on your left side? Again, thank you for the great video.
Thanks for the comment Alex. Typically when fishing this style we use weighted nymphs. However you can use unweighted. We find that using a triple surgeon knot for your tags is the best way to keep them from tangling on the main line. Hope that helps!
Honestly, for me, the sighter is there as part of the last resort. The beauty of euro nymphing/tight-lining/high-sticking is that you are in physical contact with the flies and can feel the takes. I only use the sighter when I have unintentional slack in the water or I'm not in good contact with the flies. Line management is fundamentally more important to me, as a result. Having a touchpoint on the rod with my rod hand to create tension and then creating additional tension with my line hand means that I feel literally everything - it also helps to fish a super sensitive rod like a Contact II. Haha
Great points, this is especially true with micro leaders and smaller diameter leader constructions. Many beginners however, struggle to maintain contact with the flies and guide them along the bottom and therefore need to rely in the sighter for subtle takes. Appreciate your input!
@@AnglersCovey Hey, I appreciate your videos, mate. I actually went out on the river a few times over the weekend and focused on the sighter more to just keep myself in check in case I was being overconfident. Good reminder to be more diligent.
