This is a really amazing story, North Wilkesboro had turned into a mess after racing left there, nature had taken over the track, and yet people came together to fix this track up, and now NASCAR is back, and not only back, but running the All Star Race there. I hope NASCAR keeps North Wilkes a yearly fixture on their schedule.
This race was absolutely lackluster, i'd rather watch Bristol dirt 10x than that one line track again. Repave it or give them more HP for short tracks. The nostalgia part was cool, the race itself was cancer.
U are truly a WOKE IDIOT THE DIRT TRACK AT SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI SATURDAY NIHGT HAD MORE PASSING IN ONE FEATURE THEN NAPCAR HAD ALL WEEKEND GO CURL UP WITH BUBBA DOLL IDIOT
This was the most boring All-Star Race. The only thing NASCAR seems to do well recently is disappoint fans. Either bring the All-Star Race back to Charlotte or get rid of it entirely. This was pitiful. Fans were literally yawning in the stands.
as much as i miss him in the booth, the man is about 80 now, they need to find new blood... but they keep trying to replicate dw with the younger drivers in the booth but it REALLY misses (a la clint) it just aint the same. Get somebody to fill dw's shoes without trying to imitate him
Everyone was screaming for him to get lost and retire??? All the rovals, and dirt, and short track gimmicks aren't going to save Nascar on its present course.
knowing the history of this track, it's insane to see it here hosting the All Star Race. North Wilkesboro puts on some great racing and i'm happy to see it back
Even with 14 lap fresher tires, driving through the entire field and gainin ganing a 12 second lead is pretty crazy. Then in the second half, he had a 4 second lead and probably could have had more, but he was just riding the last 30-40 laps. Once Larson got the feel, it was over for the field.
@@shawnbarczak1766 DW hasn’t driven the last 3 generations of cars and Clint was hardly competitive his whole career. I’ll stick to watching the superstars we have now than trying to relive washed up drivers. There’s not a retired driver out there that could could run competitively with the current guys in these next gen cars.

4th time (HMS) has won @ North Wilkesboro in 26 years also Nascar didn't really need a 200 lao all star race 150 would've been good & wasn't supposed in segments too
Maybe they should use a low level progressive banking. Honestly, even just 1/2 a degree to a degree in the "third" lane might be enough to make the racing really competitive early in the life of the asphalt. It's 14 degrees as it is, even though it look like less. Maybe go 13 to 14 or 14/14.5/15. If they use too much the preferred line will just be the 2nd groove, sort of how it is at New Hampshire.
NASCAR doesn't belong at North Wilkesboro with this next-gen car. This race was boring and pitiful. Fans were literally yawning in the stands. Bring it back to Charlotte or get rid of it.
So short track racing is nascars awnser to their future...they are freaking clueless. This is truly the saddest, slowest, All-star race I've ever seen. I'll take Charlotte any day over this sad spectacle. N.wilkesboro would be great if it was still the early "90's...sad.
All I see is people bitching on social media how terrible this race was. This is what you yuppies wanted. This is what “the old days” was like. Long green runs and more often than not someone spanked the field. And NASCAR is to blame for the asinine expectations the current fanbase has for this series. When actual drama occurs, be it the current Chastain fracas, Craven v Busch and Darlington, the (not a pass) in the grass, all the way back to the fight at Daytona when NASCAR was first nationally broadcast, NASCAR markets this into the dirt. The fanbase hasn’t the faintest clue what racing actually looks like, fitting for an organization that hasn’t had a clue what direction they’ve wanted the sport to go for the past 10 years.
I absolutely love NASCAR and have for years but, Boys-oh-boys, this was an absolute snooze-fest. Even at the end of the race the commentating team was talking about anything other than the "race" and were begging for a caution. Great to see North Wilkesboro back and I think it should be in the 2024 schedule but it needs to have a full-field event so each car doesn't have its own zip-code and it's follow-the-leader.
Thank you, some truth. It deserves to be on the schedule, but the all star race belongs at at least a intermediate speedway, and above 180mph avg. This was sad.
The All-star race was boring tonight, it look like Larson was playing nascar heat 5 on beginner mode and everyone just moving over like it was nothing like there wasn't $1M dollars on the line
I hope the race was more exciting in person, for the sake of the people there. Because just the "highlights" made for the most boring one of the year so far.
200 laps was way too long for this event. They could have done 2 50 lap sections with a mandatory stop in between, an invert of each segment and then something like a 20 lap sprint at the end. This format was just dumb.
I’m not gonna hate on anything here. We really didn’t know what to expect. In my opinion, this was a celebration of a revival. A revival of a loved track. Seeing the beat up track causing the cars to bounce was cool. Dale Jr and his team deserve a ton of credit for what all they did. All that being said… this race absolutely sucked lol. The truck race was decent. Is it a next gen issue? Possibly. However, if this track had another lane, that might have created more side by side racing. When you just hug the bottom, it causes some boring racing. If they keep this next year, they need to either open up another lane, or make some big car modifications. The All Star race has been boring for several years now too. Bristol and Texas were snoozers. Idk what the perfect solution is, but they need to do something to make this race a show. No points. Just going for a milly. Make this race a SHOW for the fans
This was nothing more than an absolute failure. An All-Star race is supposed to be exciting, entertaining even!! Bring it back to Charlotte or get rid of it altogether. There were fans literally yawning in the stands.

It feels GOOD to hear DW again
The only reason DW is even there is because he still panders to GM...
@@BobbyOfEarth Sure. It has nothing to do with him being an all time legend on All Star weekend 🙄
He did the burnout the entire way, DW! Such an impressive performance this weekend. One of the best racers doing his thing.❤
Wilkesboro is proof that it’s not too late for Nascar to drop the stages.
This is better than dirt Bristol.
Yep. And that is really sad.

Larson "The Wheel man"!
Thank you!

Engine needs to be unrestricted, get them back to 900hp and watch this new car fly.
