thanks , i just got a cnc and bobcad seems overkill ,then i discovered mach 3 wizards and it simplifies a few things , even engraving but im limitid to fonts, thanks !!!!
Hi Hector, Bobcad is a good program but there is a lot to learn and it is not very “user friendly “. I recommend Cut2D by vectric. I think you might find that it simplifies some pocketing and they have great tutorials.
I'll look throught the wizards but I don't think there is one athat allows you to import your diamond shape. However, I use Fusion 360 and it is easy enought o design your pocket and cut it out. If you are wanting to "wrap" your part there is a nice way to do that in Mach 3 .
Thanks very much for your time, Is Fusion 360 expensive? I have been trying to wrap my name also and can't figure that out I have to do 1 letter at a time and turn it manually.
Considering what you get with fusion 360 no compared to other software out there it is not expensive. It is free if you are a teacher, or a student. Maybe you have a child you can use to get it. NYC CNC is a channel on youtube that offers a plethora of tutorials on how to use fusion 360 too.

Where you get this wizard
The wizards tab is at the top and you select spline gear wizard.
That is not correct profile for spline axle
