I think you need to look at at Mode 2 of the BSR and adjust the stitch length to be longer. Nice demo, but there is more to the BSR that you should look into...

I just bought a Sew Steady Wish table with a fix for the problem of not being able to use rulers with the BSR. Can’t wait to try it.

If you move fabric faster, your machine goes faster? Mine doesn’t go nearly that slow

Thanks for the video! I love quilting with rulers and FMQ and I have a Pfaff Quilt Expression 720 and like it but have been looking at the 770 lately because it comes with the bsr included. I have a trial with a 740 at my local quilt shop so, maybe opting for this machine would be a better option.

You told me more negative things than helpful things 😮

You can definitely quilt faster than that with the BSR! You might need to adjust the speed of your machine.

I know this is about 3 years old, but, what are your settings on the machine while using the BSR? TIA

It’s good to train yourself-if you go too fast there is some flex in the needle and you’re less likely to have good stitch formation. Less chance of eyelashes/ train tracks on curves.

Turn up your machine! I go much faster with it than that

Ok, question for all Bernina owners........ I got my first Bernina (QE 570) in November. It is definitely in a different class than my previous machine. However, I also find the BSR to be slow so when I’m meandering I like to use the embroidery foot and go at my own speed. But the foot disengaged while sewing! The needle broke and there is now a spur on the foot. The foot has disengaged several times: with the 1D, 97D and even once with the BSR! None of them were damaged thank goodness. I do always check that the lever that secures the foot is tight before I sew but obviously I’m still having problems

I had the same issue with my walking foot. It just dropped off one day while sewing. I brought it in to my local sewing shop, where I bought my machine, because they have a dedicated sewing machine repair person, and he adjusted the “hook” that holds the feet. I no longer have that issue. It’s a very small adjustment. Good luck!

Became very frustrated with mine, kept getting eyelashes when doing curves and meandering quilting. Tried everything, changed thread, changed needle, moved faster, moved slower, nothing seemed to help. Finally gave up and bought another machines. Shame too because I really liked my Bernina.

That is sad to hear! Often eye lashing can be corrected with tension adjustments. If you loosen the top thread tension that helps to prevent the bottom thread from being pulled to the top.

Is it compatible with Bernett B79?
