Notice during the wind test they have sandbags on the wheels. Proof of application for the treadmill runway myth. Push enough wind across the wings and they’ll make lift.
Added twice the ducttape therefore the plane is twice the weight and could possibly not even get off the ground? What? That's a blatant lie for some fake drama right there. They added 5lbs of weight to the plane, that's the difference of the pilot being a little heftier or taking a bag with stuff along the ride.
I see your point, and I think it's mostly for drama. But on the other hand doubbeling the weight on the wing tips and control surfaces could (I'm no expert) over strain the guide wires and internal metal structure leading to breaking
Yeah really the only legit concern here as someone who has flown aircraft would be a change in the center of gravity of the aircraft. Aircraft are designed so that that center is around where the wings are. Extra weight say on the tail of the aircraft could make it significantly harder to control because it would force the pilot to continuously have to push the nose down with the elevator to compensate. However you'd probably need something in the order of 20 or 30lbs to start making a difference. Even on an ultralight like this aircraft.
As an Alaskan... It's wierd to me they even tested the plane myth. Of course ducktape can fix the skin of a light aircraft for the duration of a short flight. That's just fact.
