- Check out the highlights as Kenji Bahar led the Houston Gamblers to the come-from-behind 30-26 victory over the Memphis Showboats. Kenji Bahar had 235 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Justin Hall had 90 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

I like this USFL. This is new to me. I didn't know they brought it back. Very interesting
Cole Kelley is a great example of why this league and the XFL should be drafting almost exclusively from the FCS. It's a different pace of football with great talent the NFL almost never looks to and can help both leagues distinguish themselves from the top-level pro game. Kelley was the best QB in the nation last year at the FCS level.
Really glad to see both the USFL and XFL back in action. Both leagues, imo, is more exciting than the NFL. The only complaint I have about the USFL, is why doesn't each team have a home to play. Only two locations? Other than that, exciting to watch the games.

It's cost cutting move. USFL doesn't have the same financial backing as the XFL (to my understanding) and so by building the league this way, they are hoping that keeping the costs down early, the play on the field will get them ratings. More ad revenue and better tv contracts will follow. That will allow them to resemble a more traditional league in the future. Or, the USFL and XFL could end up merging a la the NFL/AFL merger of the 1960s.

Last time I watched a full game featuring the Memphis Showboats they had a QB named Kelley. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Mixed bag of emotions for Houston football this weekend. The Houston XFL team eliminated from the playoffs. But the Gamblers won tonight. And Texans drafted CJ Stroud.
I actually almost knew the opposite will happen. Gamblers loose, but Roughnecks would win, but did not happen. Gamblers played well offensively, but need to play better defense. They are missing 3 players from last year. Donald Payne is one of them, who is now in XFL Arlington Renegades. ahhhh🤧🥵
...meanwhile here in San Diego we have ZERO pro football teams...

Message to the USFL: If you want a more attractive product, GET THE TEAMS IN THEIR HOME CITIES AND USE SMALLER STADIUMS, bigger isn't always better.
Glad to see Kelley get his opportunity. I was pretty hyped for him when my Commanders got him last year. I wanted to see what he could do in the preseason, but he got cut before he could show out. Really hope he succeeds here. His traits are truly special even if he has a ways to go. Good win for Houston. Justin Hall is beyond electric.
I liked this league last year. I think in addition to 8 stadiums instead of 4 having an actual brand on the unis might help too. Xfl looks more legit with those under armour jerseys and merch.

Memphis is hopeless, but that was a nice rb pass on the goal line. Snapped it right though the QB's legs. I never saw that play before. I've seen HB passes on the goal line, but not snapped through the QB's legs on a fake QB sneak. Maybe the chiefs could steal that play.
What you said got me excited for a football team for nothing. Memphis express was better than them.

@@crossshattered5709 The poor ratings and bad attendance says otherwise. Can't hide the optics of those noticeable facts. One of these Spring league will fold. I think it is the XFL because it is terribly organized and the owners are inexperienced. But the USFL is the better football product overall. I prefer the USFL over the XFL

Hall went out of his zone. That’s the corner back fault. He was supposed to be there.
41 wasn't at fault, by the design of the play that they're running the corner (who ran deep to cover the post route) was supposed to remain on a zone outside, but he abandoned his zone to cover the post
Defense was playing zone but the corner cornerback was playing man. Cornerback was supposed guard the sideline but didn't. That's why 41 was yelling after bc the cornerback messed up.

As a hudge football fan. They did my city wrong. They threw a team of anybodies together and call them Memphis showboat. Brady white is the best QB you can find. I would've called cam Newton shid. Come on They trash. First game they showed light. Second game they showed their true colors. They not the only team like that Tho. I know it's better Qbs out there.
