- This fix will work on numerous microwave oven brands, with same symptoms.
Do it on Your own risk. Check if You still have warranty on appliance- if so do not work on it- it will void warranty
i was depressed about having to buy another microwave, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for the video. 👍
Please someone, give this man a tripod.
Thanks
@@DIMOGENTE I found this video because my daughter's oven is not working.
Well, the fan was stuck.
It works again now, thanks to your video. 👍
@@gsp911 ooh I am glad You where able to fix It.
I'm glad i came across this video. My mother's( she just turned 81 2 days ago) microwave started showing this problem today. She was very worried that her beloved microwave (a gift from me for her birthday 3 years ago) was dead. I'll check to see if this is the problem.Good video!
I hope You'll be able to fix the microwave. And best of wishes in Your Moms birthday.
Lol perfect fix. Idk how I ended up turning on that setting but I’m glad I came across your video! Phew
It warms my heart knowing I was able to help somehow.
Thanks alot for the video. I just checked my microwave after the video and it was exactly the same problem.
I am glad it helped You
Good diagnosis, I'd have suspected that thermal switch but you saw that the fan was never turning on and that it was possibly dropped and ultimately broken.
Well You are right, thermal switch was partially to be blamed, it was overheating and turning this thing off. Thank You for watching.
You saved me from a bigggggg bill
Thank you so much :)
I am happy I was able to help out
This is exactly what is wrong with my microwave and this problem was not addressed by other videos thank you very much for the valuable information
no problems, happy to help
Question, my microwave does about the same problem, only difference is that my fan does work and spins kinda fast which should be enough but it keeps shuting off but when i remove the cover that microwave works just fine for as long as necessary 🤔 i would think that this happens because it cools off better, so am not sure what the problem could be. Any thoughts??
You can take a look at the thermostat on top of the magnetron, the thing with 2wires connected, if it is faulty it may trigger shutting off, because of the overheating.
To troubleshoot it You can use multimeter.
This would be the first thing to look at
Hi, Mine has the same issues but longer shutoff time. After 5 minutes it shuts down and after few minutes it comes back on. You recon its same problem?
I would imagine this might be similar cause, - it might happen that your fan is working and then stops that's why it works a whyle and when it overheats it shuts off, or other possibility is the thermostat is failing and trigerring at wrong temperature
@@DIMOGENTE I did check thermostat and it works fine. Fan is running too. The problem is if I put it on 10 minutes it will still run but as soon as I open the door it shuts down. I was not using it more than 5 minutes but I gave it a try. Less than 5 minutes everything works fine even I open the door. I will have a look at the switches
Good idea, if it happens when You open the doors, it could be the switch- but I don,t see how it could be connected with shutting down
Thanks so much for this video! My fan had just got stuck where the microwave hadn't been used in a while! Took it apart and greased it up & now it works like new again :)
good to her that, i am happy it helped to fix Your problem!
Wow !! Excellent Microwave Diagnostic Repair Video Of The Exact Problem I've Been Having With My Hamilton Beach 1,000 Watt Microwave Cutting Off, Thanks A Million ( Dimogente ) UA-cam Channel
Thank You for good words- and I am happy it helped You
thank you.i am facing a similar problem.how do I touch the inside parts since there is a high voltage of 4KV
Never touch inside if it is pluged in to outlet,if You are not familiar with electricity. You can troubleshoot the fan even if it is turned off, visual inspection will tell You if it is mechanically damaged or not. I hope You'll succeed with fixing Your microwave.
@@DIMOGENTE I make Solar inverters. I am familiar with handling Electronic items. I was only wondering whether the HV cap has a bleeder resistor like we have in IGBT based UPS systems so that DC voltage gets discharged.
@@murthybn8373 Sorry I would not know this, i do not think it has one. But I am not an expert
Great video! Thanks for the effort!
Thanks for watching! 😄
Thank you so much I am repair my microwave this video👍👍✌✌
It is great that You are able to repair it 👍👍
Hi, thanks so much for this video.. it was very helpful but I'm still not sure I want to go poking in my microwave. It's nice to know what's going wrong though. Maybe I'll give it to my dad to fix for himself. Thanks again :)
Ohh thank You glad to help, but You should def go for help in this one
Lol, i thought we were equal.
Why not fix it or give it to your mom to fix.
I have a brand new microwave oven and I could he cooking something and have it set for 17 minutes and after about 1w minutes or so it'll cut off ,the light goes out then it will shut back on about 5 minutes later. It can't be the cooking level because the level is at 6. It was at 10 so I put the level at 6 and it still does it.
I have an LG microwave, only stays on for 2 to 3 seconds. Any advise
Hm, have You checked the fan on your LG? It could be the same problem.
Thank you so much......
Screw that. Throwing mine in the dumpster and getting a new one. Will never buy Toshiba again
My oven situation is went i plug in the socket all home have been tripping. Can you help me?
There must be a short somewhere, take a look at all wires maybe there is one that is touching the frame.
Except the ground wire- that one must be connected to frame
DIMOGENTE thanks for replying. Appreciate that
Easy, just hope you'll be able to find the problem
Good stuff man.
Thank You!!
I have same issue but my oven fan is working fine
than You can try to check the thermostat on top of metal housing that covers magnetron. that's one option but there might be some other stuff like magnetron itself.
Good video. Mine just shuts off the magnetron, but keeps on running, then the magnetron will start again. It sounds just like when you set the power level to less than one. It might have the same problem. I will open it up and see.
Thanks.
hmm In Your case, it could be that it is overheating slowly and turning off -then when it cools down it starts again, Maybe the fan is not spinning at full
My oven's fan is spinning but still it gets shut down after 3 min... What should I do
Do You have a volt meter, if You do, just check with diode test the thermostat on top of the magnetron - the big metal piece that the fan is blowing on, it might be faulty.
@@DIMOGENTE it's really nice of you to reply... But i really didn't get this 😅😅
😅
This used to never happen before they started making these microwave ovens in China.
Mine cuts off after 3 minutes and I can even do 1 minute and 2 minutes separately and it will still cut off at 3 minutes so I hope this is what’s wrong with mine so I can fix it
I keep my fingers crossed! Hope You'll be able to fix it.
Hi. Did you manage to resolve your issue. If you did, please share what was wrong. Having a similar issue.
Thanks.
I was pretty scared about actually you can use microwave while it's open covered
:O i didn't know that, but i don't think it is as harmfull as the xrays You go at doctors
❤
You should never run a microwave without at least a container of water in it.
Oh I didn't know that.
@@DIMOGENTE please don’t take my comment as a criticism, I work on microwaves myself and I’ve always heard this from technicians. I actually haven’t come across the issue you diagnosed so it was good info for me to see in your video. keep up the good work and just like me, we’re always learning something new.
@@jerryjones7918 No no- I am ok with Your comment, I agree with You that it is nice to find out something new, and I am glad that You told me this( about running empty) I just never really thought about it.
