I loved the open pastoral landscape of this number. His recent work has been all tight, angular and hidden. I think he's gone down a touch. This might have been his peak.
I kind of agree just based on sentimental reasons but I still really like all of his newer albums as well. He evolves and never loses a creative edge though. Hes constantly trying new things which is admirable.
Very true. He is expanding and evolving, it just happens to be in a direction I find dull. So much of whatI felt where his strengths; the lispy vocals, the equatorial warm weather feeling, the druggy communal vibe have been replaced by electronics and the affection of a funeral.
I highly recommend you guys buy the vinyl copy of Cripple crow, just got it today which is how i found about this song, along with like 7 other songs that arent released on the CD.
Wonderful- I didn´t know this song- from where is it? An older one?.. Thanks for posting, feel like swaying in a summerbrise while hearing it. Devendra is one of the most beautiful artists for me...
Tomorrow night'll go on without you
Go on without you there
Tomorrow night'll go on without you
Till dawn and no one will care
