I may have missed it, but mentioning that if the rotor is still too stubborn to remove even after using rust penetration oil, M8 x 1.25 bolts can be threaded into the two tapped holes in the hub of the rotor to "POP" the rusted rotor loose. Works like a charm...
I appreciate that you actually left in the part where you had trouble backing off the parking brake shoes. Getting that adjustment wheel to turn in the right direction is almost impossible- especially if you have aftermarket rotors that have an even smaller access hole than the OEM rotors. Toyota should change this parking brake design, or at least the adjustment wheel for the parking brake- but you know they won't....
Nice video. I recommend pulling the clips out and cleaning and greasing the bracket face behind them as well. I've seen brackets that had those faces rust and swell up behind the clips distorting the clips and interfering with function. Moisture likes to hang out there. I like to put a light coat of grease on the ring face of the piston if not using anti-squeal(piston rusted to pad...seen it. Great way to cook the seals). Also grease the hub face so the rotor isn't rusted to it the next time someone has to get in there. If the bracket and slide pin hex heads are in decent shape I'll grease those too(I would've inspected and repacked the pins). 07-11 It's probably time to replace the flex lines while you're in there. I'm in the rustbelt and have been doing my own auto and cycle brakes and brakes for others for almost 30yrs. I pretty much grease everything to slow the rot :)
Make sure you jack both sides up put the car on a flat surface, put the car in neutral this will help the rotor & wheel hub bearing spin freely to hit it off! My head Mechanic taught my young self this trick❤❤
@3:45 Isn't there a threaded hole in the rotor that you can screw a bolt in to and loosen the rotor by tightening that bolt? My son's Scion (made by Toyota) has one and it made it very easy to break the rotor free.
I would recommend using 6 point sockets on the bolts rather than the 12 point combination wrenches. 12 points beat up the bolts and are more likely to strip, especially with "beating on the wrench with a mallet" as shown in the video.
I just did my mom Toyota camry 2007 trying to replace the rotor but I notice 1A Auto the car ya fixing on Toyota Camry 2009 have a much bigger hole to release emergency brake from rotor so I was able to get rotor only wasnt able to change brakes my hole so little I cant see me pushing release emergency clip thru hole with flat head at all thanks anyway I'm just take to shop next time rear rotor before I brake somethen
How do you get the caliper bracket back on the pads? The circular part that touches the inside pad is sticking too far out and I don't want to beat on it more than I have. As of right now theres no way it'll fit around the pads

Dumb comment. Did you watch the same video I did? Those slider pins are sealed with a rubber boot. They are literally surrounded in grease. You saw him pull them back and forth and they smoothly slid back and forth, because they were sealed and encapsulated in grease. The old style, unsealed ones, you anti-sieze the pins. On this style, as long as the boot is still sealed and in good condition. You just work it free like he did and then you are done dealing with it.
I'm doing this at 100k+ miles. Each side is already costing me $95. $20 bucks more for pins, seals and grease is peace of mind I'll gladly pay. Besides this is my only ride, I'd rather have them and not need them, than ride a bike getting parts and wasting time.

Blues Dirt Yes, the clips that go on the calipers. The vid doesn't show taking the clips out. When he is cleaning the caliper, the clips are already gone. This can confuse an inexperienced mechanic (like the ones who use UA-cam). I guess you don't have to replace them, but might as well, if they are included
might be different on the style (le, se, etc) and if you have alloy wheels... I've heard 25 ft/lbs as well for brake calipers. 34-46 ft/lbs for rear torque plate bolts; 79 ft/lbs for front torque plate bolts
i know it's late fir you, but for anyone else wondering he was torquing the caliper bracket bolts to 46 ft lbs. it's tough to see but the torqye wrench head is not on the caliber guide bolts.
Caliper mounting bolts are 20 for the rear, 25 for the front. Caliper mounting BRACKET bolts are 79 for the front, and 46 for the rear for 2011 and earlier models.
good rule of thumb is most cars and suvs caliper bolts are in the 22 -32 ft/lb range. Somewhere in the middle is a safe bet if you cant find the spec (Use Blue Loctite). Always question a torque spec if it seems too much for the size of the bolt, or you feel the bolt stretch and the wrench doesnt click yet, stop
The rotor is a pain to get off trying to use a screwdriver to unloosed the breaks is too tedious. I just grabbed a hammer and banged on it a few times and wedged off lose. Spray it down with break cleaner first though because the second smack released a lot of break dust
Why are you using a C-clamp just stick a screwdriver in there before you pull the caliper off and pry it back and forth a little bit and push the damn caliper piston in Easy Peasy japanesey Z
09 Camry rear brake assembly on wrong direction from manufacture. Also seeing on other 09 Camry on youtube, the 09 Camry rear brake assembly is on wrong direction. Maybe 07-09 model rear brake are all on wrong direction. Safety concern !!!!!

While doing the rears, is your e-brake ever up (engaged) or lowered (dis-engaged)? I'm assuming it's supposed to be loose during this?

The caliper bolts are supposed to be torqed to 25 foot-lbs not 46 foot-lbs... The head of the bolt snapped off due to over torquing!

I snapped a caliper bolt listening to this as well.
