I'm so happy you finally got to Old Glory in Frederick! I've been going there about 30 years and they always have treasures. It's wonderful you got to meet Joan Eve too. She and others survived horrific floods in our beloved Ellicott City (future destination Antique Depot!). Her video is terrifying along with others. The town is still recovering and needs support. So many businesses were destroyed and never returned. Believe me when I say a trip to Ellicott City is a must and you won't be disappointed! Plus I'm thrilled Old Glory will be staying at their current location! Yeah!
I watched the Joan Eve Flood video and was amazed she was able to survive! What a tragedy for the city and her beautiful store but we all know water ALWAYS wins. What a strong and persevering individual!
@@joaneveshea5697 You set the bar for resellers and business owners! You are a wonderful role model. Most folks would have crashed and burned after their first disaster. But you survived, and I celebrate your resilience! Best wishes!!!
thank you for your descriptive terminology, soooooo tired of "cute" "sweet" "pretty" and other mild, meaningless words. YOU are the total package, knowledge, how to describe what you see and have such a varied interest that we are never, never bored.
OMG, I had to pause and watch the flood video before I forgot the name. It was horrible. God was with them that day for sure! I remember when this flood happened because I was familiar with the city. My brother in law had built the Chick-fil-A there.
Curiously, that tag on the owl looked like it said “Lava Glaze” something and I bet that went with that one pottery piece. That was definitely not lava glaze on the owl. I live in Baltimore, and the Ellicott City flooding happened at a time when all of the shops and restaurants were teeming with people. An off duty fireman lost his life trying to help someone, and cars were floating down the street. Some of the shop owners couldn’t even get their doors open from the pressure of the water.
I watched the Joan Eve Flood video. It was terrifying to watch and hear their story. I can not even imagine going through that. What strength she and Gary had. Thank you for sharing 🤗💗
That’s exactly what they are (I’m a costume designer-I was yelling at the screen, trying to tell Jocelyn what they were and ended up laughing at myself!)
I’ve watched CLL for years! There are just so many reasons why CLL is so successful, in my opinion: the unbelievable amount of work Jocelyn puts into her daily videos and her EBay shop, the knowledge Jocelyn shares, her personality which draws others in and that she helps others and their channels succeed…Flying Pig Thrift, The Cult of Vintage, Sue Me etc… She has made certain collectibles desired now UCB as art glass, Haeger Pottery, Artisonia Riconnada.🤓🤩
For April Fool's Day this year, my son and I put googly eyes on all of the food in the refrigerator and cabinets. My husband thought it was hilarious and even months later we keep finding things with googly eyes on them. Good times.
I swear that last owl said “ $ 12.49 “ . You better go back and check that one out again. Although I have problems seeing as well, the ophthalmologist said a have the start of a cataract in my left eye and it blurs my vision. It will be another couple of years before it’s ripe enough to have it corrected. The small glass dishes that were Murano-like and the lipped Fenton vase were my favorite. An old soul, or just an old woman. Thanks for sharing your adventures Jocelyn.

I had to look it up and compare the two and now I understand both of them. And of course I want them both, lol. Thank you!!! Bring on more great things and education!!!
You should come down to the Williamsburg antique mall (wmbg, va) where we(sister rescued treasures) have a case (S38) they have some of the most amazing prices I have seen at any antique mall. I had to make myself stop shopping when I went to check the case! I was going broke.
Great video Jocelyn! I saw you were struggling with the moriage pronunciation. If this would be helpful, it is "more-ee-ah-gay." My well traveled, well educated friend from Laos used to correct me at work so I googled it to confirm if she was right. We worked at Wiebold Studio together...we saw a lot of fine art and antiques come through there daily. Hope that is helpful. 🙂

Love the Talavera Chihuahua - I got 2 of the same size, one sitting and one standing, for $5 each at my local thrift store. They happily live in my Mexican style kitchen - I grab Talavera ware anytime I find it cheap. Love all the colors and patterns.
When I go into antique and thrift stores now, I shop for you! I'm like, Joycelyn would love that or wow, that would be a piece Crazy Lamp Lady would get! It's fun and because of you I have a better eye for things and the knowledge to go with it!
I have one of those dragons I got when I lived in Japan in 1984. I paid 60,000yen for mine. That was about 500.00 dollars back then. Not sure the exchange rate now. I hope it is still worth at least what I paid for mine. But you never know.
You passed by a liddle kiddle kologne doll, maybe it was apple blossom, at 12:34 in the video. I had those when I was a kid. They sell. There was also a Life magazine for $26 with JFK on the cover in the same case with the liddle kiddle. Go back and get that magazine. Trust me. I bought 8 cups and saucers of the birds and grapes majolica for $1 a piece. They are beautiful. Those birds and grape plates where there another time you were in that booth.
