Bruce Johnston is a classically trained, gifted keyboard player. If you look at clips from the late 1960s he does all the keyboard work on stage with The Beach Boys. So sad to see he is now reduced to being a trained seal walking around and clapping and playing s chord on the electric piano every once in a while. All that money hes being paid and he can't even play the intro to California girls.
@@bryancooper2247 Yes, he is. Mike Love was born in 1941, so in 1994 he was 53 years old. John Stamos was born 1963, which means he is currently 58 years old.

Carl was always sophisticated in his subtle suits even in the heat. No ridiculous shorts, crew socks and baseball caps for him. Gawd how I miss him. This show? NO on so many levels… except Carl
As much as Stamos means nothing to me , he is a fellow Beach Boys fan living the dream. I can't fault him for that. He has also exposed the Beach Boys music to tons of younger generations...can't fault him for that either . Long live the guys and their music !!!
John Stamos brings in new fans to hear songs that I am tired of hearing . Am I supposed to be excited about that ? Forget it . You got Mike Love and a group of musicians who don't come close to the same talent level that the Wilson brothers have / had. You could not pay me to go see Mike Love Band. Why should I pay to see Mike Love when I can go on you tube or CD and hear Carl Wilson and Al Jardine do certain songs 10 times better ?

The Beach Boys struggle when Dennis & Brian are not in the band. Dennis was the tempo powerhouse at live concerts, Brian added the all important voice that only he has. Carl was always a well dressed man. Even in Hawaiian shirts and shorts- he looked dressed up. Maybe it's the way he always carried himself. Pure class!
I love the Beach Boys!! They were getting popular in the mid-'60's when I was in high School!!! I used to think that Mike was a real show off on stage...however, after reading his book about being one of the Beach Boys, being married many times with 7 or 8 kids, being into TM, he does have some substance. But, he also is definitely into woman!!! And, he makes a good front man!!! Thank God for Brian & Carl!!! :-) RIP Carl & Dennis
I saw them on a sticking hot day at Olympic Park in Melbourne around the same time on their Summer In Paradise tour, and they were at their best. Brian Wilson pulled out at the last minute because of a legal issues and other things. Whoa..................
Stamos is a sick drummer. You can tell he worshipped Denny Wilson. he also loves the spotlight, clearly. Mike Love is a little too much here. Around this era of the Beach Boys I got the sense that they were trying a little too hard sometimes. Feel bad for Carl.
Learning about Dennis Wilson, it's so true. John Stamos, although he plays guitar and piano too, he loves drumming. The thing is Stamos lacks the "natural cool" and passion of Dennis. Its kind of embarrassing watching him trying to emulate Dennis on Full House when he plays drums or sang forever. As for Carl- God bless him. He held the band together in good times and bad.
why all the hate for stamos..?? he plays guitar good .. drums great.. and sings well.. and his 2 tv shows had the BB on 3 4 times.. helped the BB ... to let new fans know BB were still around.. Stamos did that out of love for BB music..helped KOKOMO.. be a big hit.. and so did home improvemint.. let it go.. BB are great.. and have great friends
He didn’t help Kokomo, he was in the video, and I think you answered your own question by merit that for many he represents that Kokomo /Summer In Paradise era of the band time, he’s a great drummer sure. He’s just not a Beach Boy, That’s all. He’s a Jesse and the Ripper, but I’m personally not bothered by him here, rather have him than MicGlove (kidding!) :D
I have nothing against Stamos but Mike was using him as a draw which I thought was obvious and unnecessary. Their music is great and there was no need for Stamos and cheerleaders, I thought it was embarrassing.
Annnnnnnnnnnd the same corny joke about age and the LONG!! nasal voice intro on Be True To Your School as he did on at TWO! different concerts I went to in 2009 and 2012!
Hi, it's me again. I've got to say that Summer in Paradise may be the worst Beach Boys album ever. I think I may have listened to it twice. Every song sounds the same, and none of them are delivered with any energy. Probably an effect of Mike producing the album?
Can't stand Mike Love, but I love the Beach Boys under Brian. This guy gave them a bad name, even though Brian and Dennis had their hardships. Mike sued, sued, sued...greedy guy it seems. His need for fame shows on stage.
How did Carl put up with love? Especially in this era, the very worst and cringe worthy. Summer in Paradise pretty much sums up Mikes talent or lack of. I mean at this point he is just a total embarrassment. I guess Carl was just tired at this point and went along with it.
And also, Stamos is taking up space. He's too light in the ass on drums (doesn't hit HARD like Dennis, Ricky Fataar, ect.) He's just up there at Mike's behest for window dressing. And plays catch a wave too soft and TOO SLOW.

Here's a thought: Did Carl dress like an adult to differentiate himself from the rest of the band?
Well he was appointed bandleader in absence of Brian since way back in the 60s
