In early February of 2022, law enforcement officials in Boone, North Carolina made national headlines when they announced that a 50-year-old unsolved triple homicide case had been closed - with the help of none other than former “Dixie Mafia” member Billy Wayne Davis. The 1972 murders of Bryce, Virginia and 18-year-old Bobby Durham was one of the most notorious cases in the state’s history, one surrounded by numerous theories and conspiracies. Davis’ admission that he was present on the night of the murders is only part of the story of what really happened.
IN THE RED CLAY - DURHAM is the 6-episode second season of the award-winning series detailing the case of the Durham family murders from 1972 to present day and features interviews with enforcement officials, investigators, and family members of the victims and the killers.

At 29:10 it had to have been “something else” they were there after because of the bank deposit with the cash in it - I believe the Durhams would’ve given that up very quickly when the intruders began the torture
